Alvarez: Shows us a glimpse of the real Duterte that relates into why he’s not judging Binay

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
House Speaker to be Pantaleon “Bebot” Alvarez’s long years of friendship with incoming President Rodrigo Duterte is a tested one – and coming from him, we get a glimpse of the real Mr. President contrary to his usual public image. Here are some points that you may not know:

– He is tough from the outside but soft in the inside; often became emotional when witnessing other people’s sufferings like sobbing after a visit from a cancer patient. A

– Duterte doesn’t drink or smoke but loves to talk about life’s simple joys like women

– His favorite dish, “inun unan” is fish stewed in vinegar – to be eaten by hands

– He has his own mind – just suggest better solutions but never tell him what to do because he won’t follow anyway

Alvarez himself had a plunder case under the Arroyo administration but it eventually died down due to lack of evidence. So, President Duterte as we can see will go out of his way to know a person first before believing accusations through the media. No wonder, he’s giving outgoing Vice President Jejomar Binay the benefit of a doubt that he is innocent of the corruption allegations and they are nothing but a mere political strategy in barring him from the presidency.
