President Rodrigo Duterte vowed not to run the country’s administration with corrupt police forces. He addressed the crowd of government officials, lawmakers and diplomats at PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City that attended the change of command event for zero tolerance for abusive activities by suspected government police authorities not sparing the National Bureau of Investigation or NBI.
Duterte claimed that he is aware of illegal movements involving top officials in the PNP and due to this, he will launch a “major revamp.” He urged those who are guilty to leave the service immediately this early or he will change their birthdays to Nov.2 which is All Souls’ Day. De la Rosa also gave Manila policemen involved in the illegal drugs trade 48 hours to surrender or leave the service. Those who won’t will be facing the consequences of fighting with the tougher good authorities.
Duterte also warned officials who will be transferred to other areas to stop bringing their own men with them for he knew the purpose of this was to raise money. Mr. Duterte said he would not be fooled by the bad police’s tactic facing charges to go on absence without leave so that the cases charged against them will be dismissed.
