Foreign Affairs secretary Perfecto Yasay is again making clarification regarding the President’s remarks that he would rather pull out from the UN if they are that unfair, after two UN envoys recently make connotations that his “shoot to kill” order has contributed to the rising extra judicial killings in the Philippines and must be stopped.
“We certainly are not leaving the UN,” Yasay Jr said in a recent press conference.
Yasay explained: “The President is understandably extremely disappointed and frustrated with this action of the special rapporteurs in arbitrarily concluding that these drug-related killings were done by or are at the instance of law enforcers. But I can assure you that he remains committed to the United Nations, of which the Philippines is one of the founding members.”
