VP Binay’s Quest To Make Bongbong Marcos His Running Mate
Bongbong Marcos is the son of the late Ferdinand Marcos whose presidency raises too many accusations of human rights violation. That is why a lot of critics ask why he wants Bongbong Marcos for his running during the 2016 national election. Marcos is replaced by Senator Gregorio Honasan but instead of campaigning for himself, Honasan endorses Bongbong Marcos as Vice President.
Jejomar Binay As A Human Rights Lawyer
Jejomar Binay helps Martial law victims and represents the political prisoners during the Marcos regime without any charge. Together with Sen. Joker Arroyo and Rene Saguisag they founded “MABINI” (Movement of Attorneys for Brotherhood Integrity and Nationalism).
During his term as Vice President, he served as the chairman of HUDCC (Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council). Jejomar Binay is also the presidential adviser for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Jejomar Binay’s Decision
During Jejomar Binay’s term as the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, he is beyond the limits when the national budget is the subject. He feels that the administration does not support his budget to sustain his plans and programs in the office of the Vice President. And the reason he highlights is because they are not in one party.
In Binay’s visit to the Province of Ilocos Norte (the hometown of the Marcos family) to check the areas affected by typhoon Ineng, he meets the Provincial Governor, Imee Marcos. Imee is the daughter of the late Ferdinand Marcos and feels the same concern with Aquino’s administration.
Bongbong Marcos from V.P. to President
Bongbong Marcos’ sister and Binay talk about the development of Ilocos Norte neglected by the National government for the reason that the Aquino administration prioritizes only the selected provinces. The provinces with approved multi-million projects are only those who are in line with the Liberal Party’s “Daang Matuwid” propaganda.
In the midst of their conversation, Binay tells the Governor that he hopes for a unifying and healing administration. Jejomar Binay together with Bongbong Marcos continues to jointly work towards the “unity” goal. Nevertheless, after Binay’s free assistance to the alleged human rights victims, he openly criticizes the Aquino administration for all their shortcomings especially in the area of public service. Binay can attest that the public service performance of the Marcoses are more humanitarian than the libelous leadership of the Aquinos that he and his family become a victim of as well. That’s when they are accused of corruption themselves with cases filed without probable cause.
