In the New Year of 2017, the Supreme Court is keeping a low profile on the Comelec warning that it would cost the government P2B in damages for breach of contract with Smartmatic. Pnoy’s appointees at the Commission on Election headed by Andres Bautista seem to be more protective of Smartmatic than to the Filipino people. Comelec earlier blames Bongbong Marcos for the delay of the return of 97,366 units of vote-counting machines and the election management system and accessories. They are on lease for the May 2016 elections from Smartmatic-TIM, Inc.

SC’s Discreet Moves
THE Supreme Court on remains quiet on the electoral protest filed by Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. against Vice President Maria Leonor Robredo. It only says to release a resolution on the issue. “The Tribunal will issue a resolution on this in due course,” says SC spokesman Theodore Te.
Robredo Ordered to Answer
The SC, acting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal, orders Robredo to answer the electoral protest but the deadline is not disclosed. Robredo’s lawyer, Macalintal complains that it’s the longest electoral protest ever and they need time to review the accusations.
The V.P. Asks SC to Dismiss Electoral Protest
Vice President Robredo asks the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) to dismiss the election protest filed by former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos. In her 536-page answer, Robredo, through her lawyers Romulo Macalintal and Ma. Bernadette Sardillo, said the issues raised by Marcos are not proper grounds for an election protest.
SC Ruling Expected to be Like the Marcos Burial
SC definitely learns its lesson that the noisier they are, the more oppositions would create troubles just to block the decision based on the law and the truth. Thereby, they cannot be blamed for being discreet. After all, they are for peace,
