Believe it or not. Just when the news breaks out that Leni Robredo was given five days to pay the required deposit for her counter protest and that the omnibus motion of Bongbong Marcos to dismiss it is deferred, the Supreme Court hereby sets the preliminary conference for Marcos’ electoral protest on 21 June 2017 at 2 PM. Perhaps the Baguio vigil by Marcos’ supporters worked.

Preliminary Conference Schedule
The SC Public Information Office said that the first preliminary conference is scheduled on June 21, Wednesday, at 2 PM. This is when the issues are shortlisted with the matching completion dates. This is needed to start the process of verifying evidence and conduct the recount of votes as prayed for by Bongbong Marcos.

The Vigil Worked for SC to Finally Move
The high court also said that the preliminary conference would also cover Robredo’s counter-protest and not only limited to Marcos’ protest. This is actually what Marcos supporters asked for that whatever the SC may decide for as long as they move forward with the protest, it is good enough for them. The candle vigil seemed to work after all.
