While Leni Robredo is struggling to pay the P8 M first tranche on her part for counter-protesting the electoral protest of Bongbong Marcos, he is already set for the next. Marcos’ friends have guaranteed the amount to the Supreme Court. The contributions are from sympathetic supporters. They have stated in an open letter that the second tranche of P30 M will be paid on or before July 14.

[VIDEO]: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered Vice President Leni Robredo to pay the amount needed to retrieve election-related documents needed in her counter-protest against former Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Robredo’s Motion Denied
Five Days Provision
The PET might have denied Robredo’s motion for reconsideration of the Resolution dated March 21, 2017, then directed her to pay the cash deposit as stated in the Resolution dated on the same date. The deadline is a non-extendible period of five days from the issuance of the notice,” Te said.
Marcos’ Motion is Delayed
The high court also deferred action on Marcos’ omnibus motion where he seeks to dismiss the counter protest until Robredo complies with the payment requirement. Last March 21, the PET ordered Marcos to pay PHP66,223,000 for the 132,446 precincts to allow his election protest against Robredo to proceed.
Supreme Court’s Money Game
In its three-page resolution, PET ruled that Marcos must pay PHP36,023,000 on or before April 14. The next tranche’s deadline to pay PHP30-million is on or before July 14. Robredo is also required to pay PHP8 million on or before April 14 which she failed to comply, and PHP7,439,000 on or before July 14. What if the protesters do not have rich friends?
