Despite playing a coy on Bongbong Marcos to replace Ismael Sueno as DILG Secretary, the president remains to be how it is. He often confuses people on his decisions for the different issues because he is fond of saying conflicting opinions. However, his style works for him – even in winning the presidency. It can be remembered that he refused to run for president many times but in the end, it looks like he’s really up to it – just maneuvering strategies to mislead enemies.

Fired or Scripted?
The alleged firing of Interior and Local Government Secretary Ismael Sueno did pave the way for the rumored appointment of Bongbong” Marcos as DILG chief. Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said that there was no mention of the possibility that Marcos will replace Sueno – but the prediction is becoming a reality as the one year ban is running out to prevent Marcos from assuming the post. It is even insinuated that the anomaly against Sueno is scripted.
Du30 initially refuted news reports that Marcos is soon to assume the DILG top post. The President thinks that Marcos is not interested which is clarified by the latter almost immediately. He is indeed very interested and can’t wait to get back to work in whatever capacity.
No legal Implications on the Electoral Protest
The electoral protest of Marcos against Robredo remains valid once he accepts any appointment from the President. His experience in the local governance is vital in overseeing the DILG department. He has what it takes to do well in the said post.
Marcos loyalists, on the other hand. are getting ready to make the necessary protest to urge the Supreme court to expedite the recount scheduled on April 17, 2017. This is planned to happen right in front of the SC building. However, even if the recount happens soon, it will still take a lot of time to get the final verdict. The estimate is around 2 to 4 years if it can be faster. So, better be going for Marcos in an appointed post than stay idle while waiting.
