Danilo de la Fuente shows a document that recognizes human rights violations against him during Martial Law – hit in the chest and stomach in February 1982. This happens while in the custody of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Du30’s government refer to them as collateral damage and not Marcos’ victims as what some media feature. Bongbong Marcos said that the martial law payout is now the government’s jurisdiction.

4,000 Approved Claimants
De la Fuente is only one of the 4,000 approved claimants who compose the first batch of victims who receive the compensation today for the partial payout. They might suffer under the martial law authorities but there are many more direct personalities that should be blamed like Fidel Ramos who heads the military at that time – than the late president Ferdinand E. Marcos.
The Human Rights Victims’ Claims Board (HRVCB) decision comes a year before its mandate lapses on May 12, 2018. For De la Fuente, who joins the successful class suit against Marcos in Hawaii said that it’s not the P100,000 that makes the long wait worth it but the recognition.
