Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said that the date of the holiday could be September 21. This is the anniversary of late President Ferdinand Marcos’ martial law declaration. Proclamation 1081 which is the declaration of martial law was announced on September 23, 1972. It was backdated to September 21 because of numerology.
Avoid Public Inconvenience
A coalition of groups called “Movement Against Tyranny” promotes its plan to stage massive demonstrations on September 21 to protest the administration’s drug war. This is their way of preventing the president to become tyrant or authoritarian. s the people’s President, Du30 puts the public’s welfare first. He does not want to inconvenient them.
Backing Up the Marcoses
Du30 is noted to be an ally of the Marcos political clan. He granted the Marcos family to bury the late President’s remains at the Heroes’ Cemetery in a private ceremony.
