Betraying Allies? Not her Style: Imee Marcos Reacts on Detractors’ Demolition Job Strategy against Her

Imee Marcos

By: Elena Grace Flores

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos denies the allegation that she is behind the spread of sample ballots which suggests a solo vote for her. Marcos said the sample ballots are the handiwork of her “detractors.” She comments that she is not the type who betrays allies. In fact, she supports many other Senatorial candidates namely; Atty. Glenn Chong, Atty. Larry Gadon, Bong Go, Bato plus other members of Hugpong ng Pagbabago, Nacionalista Party and the rest of administration bets.

Imee Marcos is a Major Supporter of the President

The daughter of the late President Ferdinand Marcos is part of a group of senatorial candidates under the regional slate Hugpong ng Pagbabago. Davao City Mayor Sara Du30-Carpio chairs it. Marcos is also a guest candidate in the personal lineup of President Rodrigo Du30. He often cites her as one of the few local government officials who backed his presidential bid in 2016.

Pathetic Demolition Job

It is so pathetic of my opponents to taint my image before my fellow Hugpong ng Pagbabago candidates, Marcos said. The sample ballots are now even in her hometown in Ilocos Norte already and in Mindanao. “This is clearly a demolition job by those who do not want me to win at all cost,” she added.

Fast Climb to the Magic 12

In Lieu of the Black Media Propaganda

The accusations of her family’s ill-gotten wealth and the dark days of her father’s dictatorship have now proven to be impartial news. Thanks to the internet. Curious people can just do a quick research and they can immediately verify if an information is fake or not. Since the black media propaganda is not anymore working, perhaps the demolition job aims to tarnish Marcos’ reputation in lieu of it.

Uniting a Divided Nation

It is the ultimate goal of the Marcoses to unite the Filipino people. It is very obvious that the opposition is trying to block that from happening. They know that unity is the key to the country’s success. Those who hinder this are not loyal to the people but to the political party they serve.
