Outgoing Vice President Jojo Binay was serious when he said; he knew a lot about outgoing President Benigno Simeon Aquino III’s self-serving acts – the reason why he went against their NoyBi- alliance. He no longer do things for the benefit of the majority but only for his interests as inclined by Binay. One of these acts was documented by Teodoro or Teddy Boy Locsin in his writing. Pnoy as he is called by the masses left it to Vice President Binay, to handle the request of the late Ferdinand E. Marcos’s burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani and Binay said; let the people decide. Therefore he commissioned a survey. The survey showed two-thirds of Filipinos favor a Marcos burial in Libingan ng mga Bayani with full honors.
However, Binay is forced to set the survey result aside since Pnoy was against it. Instead he offered to bury Marcos but with all the honors where he is now in Ilocos. Marcos would then receive the same burial but the only difference is, he was first laid to rest above ground, then next time following Binay’s suggestion, he will be interred underground. Out of sight, out of mind. The Marcoses were of course adamant with the offer. The offer has been rescinded from that time on.
According to Locsin in 2011 as he documented that was ignored by major commercial media as always; “Marcos should be buried for what he was, a former president, twice elected in democratic elections. Oppositors say he destroyed Philippine democracy. That is not a disqualification. He was democratically elected president, twice. While he destroyed democracy, in order to save it, according to him, the people ratified martial law in a referendum. The Supreme Court validated the dictatorship as constitutional. So it was legal. Marcos was never impeached; he did nothing illegal to forfeit his right to be buried with other presidents not all of whom wanted to buried there.”
