Bongbong Marcos highlights one of the benefits of Federalism during his speech in Baguio city. He explains that it is an attempt to bring government services closer to the people. This is despite the fact that he has no direct benefit from it should he win the electoral protest against Vice President Leni Robredo. The recount date is fast-approaching which is set on March 19.

Anticipated Recount Victory
Bongbong and Gov. Imee Marcos’ were previously in the Baguio Flower Festival. The Governor introduces him as the new Vice President of the Philippines. This mind-bugling introduction happens again in Binondo when former Senator Marcos addresses the Filipino-Chinese community during Chinese New Year.
Sympathy to the Marcos Family
Marcos said that Chinese businessmen who became rich are sympathetic to the Marcos family and vice versa. The Chinese were first accepted to the society and to the country’s economy institutionally and legally during his father’s time. The Philippines’ relationship with China has always been in the top level since then. That sours only during the time of the Aquinos.
Federalism Isolates Chaotic Situation
The Vice Presidential hopeful also added that in a Federal system of government, a chaotic town or city cannot pull the rest of the country down. The problem has no chance to easily escalate and effective solutions are for immediate implementation without such process delay.
Coup d’ Etat Example
One of the examples Marcos cites is the reason why Coup d’ Etats only happens in Manila. It’s because if the capital is taken by the rebels, the rest of the country follows.
