[VIDEO]: Bongbong Marcos sends apology video to supporters in Maasin City, Southern Leyte
Not Allowed to Donate but there’s a Way
Leyte is the birthplace of former first lady, Imelda Marcos. So, naturally, Bongbong Marcos feels at home in the province. However, while in Tacloban, he apologized on video for not being able to make it to Maasin because of poor visibility for his helicopter to get there. As Leyte was badly hit by typhoon Agaton, BBM’s detractors mocked him by telling him to donate but little do they know that BBM supporters are already helping in action on the ground by distributing necessities.
Election Law on Donations
The term “contribution” includes a gift, donation, subscription, loan, advance, or deposit of money. Or anything of value, a contract, promise, or agreement to contribute – whether or not legally enforceable. If made for the purpose of influencing the results of the elections. But shall not include services rendered without compensation by individuals. Volunteering a portion or all of their time on behalf of a candidate or political party.
This Too will come to Pass
Despite the difficult situation, Leyte is always one of BBM’s priorities. It’s like a second home for him. So, regardless of some bad media propaganda, the leaders in Leyte know that Bongbong Marcos is trustworthy and this too shall pass.
