Heartburn Medicine without Prescription

By: Gemma Lagasca

HeartburnHeartburn is a symptom, not a condition or disease, and it can be caused by: Eating certain foods (chocolate, peppermint, fatty foods, and acid foods are common culprits). Having a hiatal hernia, Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Medication side effects. The most common symptoms of heartburn include: A sour taste in the mouth that creeps up the throat.A feeling of burning in the chest.Pain in the throat or neck. Heartburn and Indigestion:

What’s the Difference? These digestive problems are often confused, but they’re not the same. You can have heartburn and indigestion together, and they may even feel similar, but they’re not interchangeable. Both heartburn and indigestion describe symptoms that occur after you eat, often from eating foods that tend to cause these symptoms and from the way that you eat — too much or too quickly.

Heartburn can be a symptom of indigestion, since indigestion is a collection of symptoms, but heartburn is also its own distinct symptom. Indigestion, on the other hand, isn’t related to stomach acid. Instead, it more often seems connected to emotional health and your state of mind — feeling stressed, nervous, or anxious seems to trigger bouts of indigestion, while feeling relaxed tends to prevent them. Indigestion — the medical term for which is dyspepsia — includes a number of symptoms and can often be a sign of some other health condition. There are a variety of heartburn drugs available over the counter to relieve symptoms. If these fail to relieve your symptoms, talk to your doctor about other available heartburn treatment options. He or she may want to evaluate you for gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD. Non-prescription medications used to treat heartburn and other mild GERD symptoms include:

Antacids for Heartburn

Antacids neutralize stomach acid to help relieve heartburn, sour stomach, acid indigestion, and stomach upset. They are also occasionally recommended to help relieve the pain of ulcers. Some antacids also contain simethicone, an ingredient that helps eliminate excess gas. Some antacids contain ingredients that can cause diarrhea, such as magnesium, or constipation, such as aluminum. Examples of antacids include:
• Alka-Seltzer – is an effervescent antacid and pain reliever
• Alka-2, Tums and Titralac – are Calcium carbonate antacids that can also be a supplemental source of calcium.

  • Alternagel and Amphojel – are aluminum hydroxide suspension – oral
  • Gaviscon – is an antacid treatment that contains alginic acid and sodium bicarbonate.
  • Gelusil – is an antacid and antigas in the form of tablets
  • Maalox –
  • Mylanta
  • Milk of Magnesia
  • Pepto-Bismol
  • Rolaids
  • Surpass Gum

You should take antacids exactly as directed by your doctor, or according to the manufacturer’s directions. If you are using the tablets, chew them well before swallowing for faster relief. Serious side effects can occur with an overdose or overuse of antacids. Side effects include constipation, diarrhea, changes in the color of bowel movements, and stomach cramps.
Acid Reducers for Heartburn
There are two types of drugs that work to reduce the production of acid in the stomach: histamine antagonists (H2 antagonists or H2 blockers) and proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Examples of H2 blockers available over the counter include:

  • Axid AR
  • Pepcid AC
  • Tagamet HB
  • Zantac 75

The FDA has approved the proton pump inhibitors Prevacid 24HR, Prilosec OTC, and Zegerid OTC for over-the-counter use to treat frequent heartburn (more than two episodes per week) for 14 days. All of these drugs are also available in prescription strength. Take these drugs according to the directions on the package or as advised by your doctor. If these medications don’t relieve your symptoms, or if your heartburn symptoms get worse or persist for longer then a couple of weeks, you should see your doctor.

Possible serious side effects that need to be reported to your doctor right away include confusion, chest tightness, bleeding, sore throat, fever, irregular heartbeat, weakness, and unusual fatigue. Other, less serious side effects include mild headache, dizziness, and diarrhea, which are usually temporary and will likely go away on their own. Combination Antacid/Acid Reducer for Heartburn. There is only one drug of this type, Pepcid Complete. It combines the acid-neutralizing capability of an antacid and the acid-reducing actions of an acid-blocker drug.

Dealing with the Relevant Composition of Cialis

By: Elena Grace Flores

CialisErectile Dysfunction (ED) in men may be quite common nowadays among middle aged and older men but they need not worry. The FDA has approved five oral sexual drug enhancers namely Cialis, Levitra, Staxyn, Stendra and Viagra. All of these medications work by increasing the flow of blood into the penis so that when a man is sexually aroused, he can have an erection and can sustain it for various durations depending on the drug taken. ED is caused by many things that derived from physical issues to mental health-related problems and also from side effects of certain medications and also have some lifestyle factors.

Characteristics of Cialis

Each of the drugs mentioned above work following a similar mechanism to cause erections. The difference is in how long the drug can sustain erection and how quickly it works. Cialis works within about fifteen minutes which is faster than any of the other four drugs and also lasts much longer – lasting to up to 36 hours in most cases.

Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor currently available in pill form under the name Cialis for treating erectile dysfunction and Adcirca for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Cialis tablets for ED come in doses of 5mg, 10 mg and 20 mg.  It is yellow coloured, film coated and almond shaped. Tadalafil is also manufactured and sold under the name of Tadacip by the Indian pharmaceutical company Cipla in doses of 10 and 20 mg. Cialis is a product of Eli Lilly.

Nature of Performance

The Food and Drug Administration in November 21, 2002 approved Tadalafil as Cialis for sale in the United States as the third ED prescription drug pill after Viagra and Levitra. Cialis’ 36 hour effectiveness earned it the nickname, “The Weekend Pill” and is recommended to be administered “as needed”. Cialis is the only one of the three medications that can be taken once per day. Generic Cialis works by blocking the chemical called PDE5 which affects blood flow to the penis. Men are affected by PDE5 because when this chemical blocks blood flow, it will obstruct the ability to produce an erection. Tadalafil helps by blocking this chemical and therefore allows sufficient blood flow to run through the penis thus resulting to a successful erection.

Generic Cialis or Tadalafil does not work without stimulation because its absence does not trigger the chemicals that cause the erection. However it can maintain erection much longer. This allows men to feel confident for a long period of time – giving them the flexibility to choose the right moment for sexual intercourse. Cialis can be bought online with the needed confidentiality – making men feel in control of their personal issues with ED which many men certainly have problems with or too embarrassed to make the purchase from a pharmaceutical outlet’s over-the-counter service.

Not for Total Cure

There are two available options of Cialis. One form is for daily use and another one for long lasting effect to up to 36 hours. It is important to note that it is still recommended to consult a doctor when ED problem exists due to the fact that ED can be caused by a variety of health problems. To reiterate, Cialis does not cure ED but it does improve the ability to produce erections until sexual intercourse has been fully undertaken. It boosts not only men’s sexual prowess but also their confidence. Mental health will be nurtured as they get out of depression to the inability of making their partner happy. There would be cases when Cialis may not be safe to take despite the FDA approval. Tell the doctor if any of the following situations is true to your own health condition:

  • Allergies to any drugs, including Viagra or other ED medications
  • If you are taking prescriptions or no-prescription medications including herbal and dietary supplements
  • If you are scheduled for surgery including dental
  • If you are taking nitro-glycerine or long acting nitrate to treat chest pains. The combination of Cialis, Levitra, Staxyn, Stendra or Viagra with these drugs can cause dangerously low blood pressure.
  • If you take alpha blockers for blood pressure or prostate problems. Dangerously low blood pressure can also occur.
  • If you have suffered from a heart attack, stroke or life threatening arrhythmia or irregular heart rate within the last six months, then it is best to discuss options with your doctor.

Dangerous Interactions

Cialis cannot be taken together with nitrates such as: mononitrate, nitroglycerin, amyl nitrite, isosorbide dinitrate and isosorbide. It can also interact negatively with high blood pressure drugs, AIDS or HIV infection treatments, yeast or fungal infection medications like fluconazole, ketoconazole, itraconazole and voriconazole to name a few – plus seizure drugs like phenytoin, carbamazepine and phenobarbital.  Grapefruit juice macrolide, clarithromycin, erythromycin and troleandomycin antibiotics will also have adverse effect same as prostate cures namely rifapentine, rifabutin or rifampin. There’s a possibility that the enumerated drugs do not cover all the medicines that can have damaging effects when associated with Cialis.

This precaution is not limited among prescribed medicines but also include dietary supplements and over-the-counter treatments. Discussing all these with your doctor must not be neglected. History of smoking, alcohol drinking and illegal drug use should be taken seriously. Always follow directions by heart and clarify vague or instructions that do not make sense to you. Never double the dosage in any case. Stick to the once a day rule – even if you feel like doing it non-stop. Dispose Cialis properly when the expiration date has lapsed. Keep it away from hot and humid areas to prevent the accumulation of moisture. It must not be tampered prior to administration and children must not play with it.

Avoid Fast Foods or Die Young!

By: Gemma Lagasca

FastfoodsOne of the basic human needs is food. It is the main source of energy that our body requires to be able to survive. Because of modern lifestyle changes, instant foods with artificial flavorings are popularized to suit the fast-phased living. However, our body is also punished with toxins and acid build-ups from the unhealthy foods that we are taking in. As a result, we are acquiring lifelong diseases or worst, it shortens human life span.

Due to the effect of highly complex micro-crap substances or in short, artificial foods – we are all walking into the hole of grave quite fast. Since God created us with high-intellect, maybe we should not indulge in these trendy foods that will totally destroy our body. Each tiny parts of our body such as cells, molecules and organs should function well to keep our system’s proper balance. Aside from that, a holistic bodily system will not be completed if our blood doesn’t have the right pH level. According to the researchers of Natural News, our body’s pH is one big factor in fighting against viruses, bacteria and fungi. With the right balance of alkaline, these dangerous elements that cause diseases will be prevented from harming the body.

Here are some helpful ideas on how to get natural alkaline and how to keep your pH level balanced:
1.Pick only the organic foods that are chemical-free to avoid harmful elements from pesticides and other contaminants.
a. Take more fruits and vegetables. These are natural alkaline foods that can help in sustaining the appropriate pH level in our body every day.
b. Decrease meat intakes, even white meat with fowl, flours and refined sugar. Take only at least 40-50 grams of protein-enriched food per day. These foods
contain acids that cause acid-build up when taken in excess.

2. Create a food mixture to maintain a suitable alkaline pH level and the right pH balance.
a. Mix 10ml of organic apple cider vinegar into 8 ounces of water. Drink one glass in the morning and another one after dinner. Likewise, for non-hypertensive adults – a glass of water with 10ml lemon or lime juice with a tsp. of baking soda is recommended. Take at least one glass of the mixture every day.
b. Mix organic lemon with 8 ounces of warm water and 2 tablespoons of organic honey. This combination will protect your body from getting into the alkaline-forming state and helps remove excess acids.
c. Ingest more potassium-enriched foods like honey, lemons and bananas.
d. Flush the waste in your system by drinking the required amount of water every day. According to the study, you have to do a little math to determine your required daily consumption of water. If you weigh 120 pounds, the actual 50% of your weight should be converted to ounces. So the 50% of 120 pounds is 60 pounds-it means that 60 ounces of water is the amount needed to hydrate your body and to eliminate the toxins that cause the undesirable build-up.

Way back thousands of years ago after creation, God saw that everything that He had made is good. All things in the earth are beneficial for His every living creation and there are no harmful things that will affect His masterpieces. The first man and woman together with the animals lived bountifully with all the natural things around the Garden of Eden. However, humans were created with high intellect compared to the rest of the animals. So as time quickly flies, it is them that are masterminding the changes – leading away from the Creators’ natural concept. If we will continue to embrace these changes, maybe God will strongly disagree. Climate change epidemics and natural disasters resulted to natural depopulation and too many kinds of illnesses and mysterious viruses that humans cannot diagnose – are still hawking the earth due to the people’s uncontrollable will to create peculiar things. Follow the will of God or DIE early! What do you think?

Hair Myths and Facts Affecting Your Health

By: Gemma Lagasca

Does hair tells that you’re healthy? There are different kinds of health problems that may affect your hair—hair loss is one example of a medical side effect. However, there are some myths and facts affecting your health and your hair. Continue reading this article to know these things:

  1. Daily hair shedding is normal. Hair shedding is not an evidence of being unhealthy. Our hair usually goes through three phases—shedding, resting and growing. According to WebMD’s researchers, the estimated amount of hair for normal shedding per day is up to 100 strands. The 90% of hair follicles are bringing forth new hair anytime and the remaining10% are in telogen phase or resting phase. It means that the new hair will grow back in a certain period of time.
  2. Low immune system is not related to hair follicle damage. The hair damage manifested by abnormal hair fall is medically known as alopecia areata. This problem can exist when an unusual attack to your system happens when undergoing surgery, medications, stress, thyroid problems and when giving birth. Some people may experience this over and over again but the hair normally grows back naturally.
  3. White flakes do not create health risk. Even doctors are not sure about the dandruff’s root cause or origin. But base on the theory, dandruff is caused by overgrowth of fungus. The sources of these funguses include stress, obesity, oily skin, dry or cold weather and when suffering from psoriasis or eczema. Consequently, the intense itch is definitely irritable—but dandruff is not infectious. Try to use antidandruff shampoo to treat or control the continuous production of white flakes.

  4. Male and female pattern baldness. Baldness is 90% caused by genes especially for men. This problem is more influenced by your mother’s bloodline than your father’s. For women, the usual hair loss is not concentrating in one portion—it is more on thinning hair all over the head. So women rarely experience baldness compared to men. According to the old belief, long hair can cause hair fall because the nutrients cannot sustain it whereas some people believe that a brand of shampoo can cause hair loss—unfortunately these were all myths. Try treating your hair with Minoxidil to prevent it from thinning and it may also help the hair to grow again.
  5. Unhealthy diet brings unhealthy hair. Of course, unhealthy foods will not sustain your hair and body needs. So enrich your body with hearty or healthy diet. Include salmon, walnuts, spinach, carrots, oysters and cashews in your daily diet. These foods are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin A and zinc to keep your hair shiny.
  6. Over-styling can damage hair. Too much styling like colouring, bleaching, straitening, blow-drying and ironing can cause hair damage. The hair will become dull and dry—but this hair problem does not indicate permanent health damage.
  7. Scalp massage improves scalp condition. Although there is no concrete proof that scalp massage will help avoid or slower hair loss—but it can relieve stress. Massage will help improve the blood flow in the nerve and triggers the production of good hormones like dopamine and serotonin.

There you go – you should know by now if there’s anything you can do with your hair problems – if you have any!
