In October of 2001, my sister started getting very sick She had stomach spasms and she was having a hard time getting around. Walking was a major chore. It took everything she had just to get out of bed; she was in so much pain.

Artificial sweeteners in general are composed of edible chemicals that when exposed to other substances or extreme temperature can have massive reactions that can make one uncomfortable. It’s the Aspartame in it that can cause serious ill effects – that is unfortunately present in sugar-free sodas and sugar substitutes like Nutra Sweet and Equal.  If you experience temporary loss of hearing, blurry sight and feeling sick without knowing exactly why? Stop drinking diet soft drinks and you will feel immediate relief.

    1. Thank you for the comment. I’ve checked your link for Aspartame. So, it is not the culprit but just the trigger? It still sounds hazardous to me – at least health wise! – Elena

  1. I agree with Daniel on this one. Aspartame has been followed, studied and analyzed over and over, we just can’t find any connection to adverse health effects. If you are one of the very rare people that have Phenylketonuria then you must limit your in take.
Plenty of stuff out that can cause unintended health effects, but this isn’t it. Better to spend time, money energy on other things.

  2. Thank you for the advise, Lance…This is beneficial to our readers so, for all of you who have Phenylketonuria – described by Wikipedia as an autosomal recessive metabolic genetic disorder characterized by a mutation in the gene for the hepatic enzyme phenylalanine hydroxylase (PAH), rendering it nonfunctional, just limit your intake and you will be okay! – Elena

  3. Thanks so much for sharing this article. When I used to love drinking soft drinks, I always go for the regular ones because of the taste. Also, I have heard and read that diet ones are way harmful than the regular ones.
