welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

The President decides for a low-key celebration of the 31st anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution to serve as “A Day of Reflection. It has nothing to do with Bongbong Marcos. “The simplicity does not make it less significant.  It is more of a time to reflect and its simplicity made it possible, senior deputy executive secretary Menardo Guevarra explained.

[VIDEO]: Malacañang on Tuesday said the “simple and quiet” commemoration of the 31st anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution on Feb. 24 does not mean that the administration is giving less significance to the historic peaceful uprising that toppled the Marcos dictatorship.

The President’s Choice

The president did not attend the 31st celebration of the EDSA revolution recently – but senior deputy executive secretary Menardo Guevarra speaks on his behalf. He is also not in the late president Ferdinand E. Marcos’ burial at the Heroes cemetery, although he allows it.

Presence of Key Personalities

Former president Fidel V. Ramos attends the EDSA revolution celebration. Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, Senator Gringo Honasan, and former Vice President Jejomar Binay are all there. It’s only Ramos among these four EDSA players who is still criticizing the President’s policies despite his claim that he is pro-administration like the rest of them. He is the only one as well who is not included in the Bihomadu force or the Binay, Honasan, Marcos, and Duterte alliance.

FVR’s Biography

Ramos, who launches his biography recently. He doesn’t mind the modest commemoration of the historic revolt. But he has one condition. The president must promise to build an EDSA learning center by next year. Malacañang already marks the 31st anniversary of the EDSA uprising ‘with dignity,’ and it went well. But Ramos insists that the public must have sufficient information regarding the event or else the recollection of other players won’t match his biography?

Marcos-Aquino Rivalry is History

The Rivalry of the Aquinos and the Marcoses should be over now. All must be for the good of the Filipino people. However, the Filipinos are still divided between the two factions. It is evident even in congress and the senate. Perhaps. there’s really a need to show which has the most support. Aquino or Marcos?
