The Department of Foreign Affairs said that more than 258 Filipino Overseas Workers in Sudan need urgent care. This is due to the ongoing war with its neighbors and other countries. The reasons range from concern about shared Nile waters and oil pipelines to the shape of a new government and a possible humanitarian crisis. Sudan relies heavily on foreign aid. It is no stranger to conflict. So, the DFA said that Filipinos should not work there yet. Those who choose to remain will be evacuated while the rest are getting prepared for repatriation. However, on one condition. Once back in the country, they will not be allowed to return to Sudan again.
