More than 500 guests are invited during President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s inauguration at the Malacañang Palace on June 30, 2016. It is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. at the President’s Hall the incoming President Duterte will escort outgoing President Benigno Aquino III to the Malacañang grounds to signify his departure. The official family photo will then follow. Presidential Communications Operations head, Martin Andanar confirmed this program.
The appointed Cabinet members will also be taking oath but their families cannot attend due to lack of space. Senate President and the House Speaker will be present as protocol. The reception follows the culture of Duterte’s lifestyle;finger foods will be served especially Duterte’s favorite maruya cooked the Davao way with buko juice.
Various artists who helped during Duterte’s campaign will also be performing during the inauguration. Monitoring the event at home through TV screens would be best to avoid traffic and security difficulties.
