Gone were the days when any fight of Senator Manny Pacquiao will bump off any MGM bookings and HBO airings. Pacquiao’s boxing match in November will not be at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas anymore – but at Thomas & Mack Center at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He will be fighting against American boxer Jessie Vargas.
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum explained that HBO is set to air the another conflicting boxing match between pound for pound fighters Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev. “Definitely it’s not going to be HBO. HBO had a contract and decided to pass because it was two weeks in front of their Ward-Kovalev fight,” Arum stressed further.
MGM could not be the venue this time also because it has been booked on the same date.
