Do not kill our local economy – support traditional small stores

Small Stores

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Sari sari stores or traditional small stores in the Philippines are in the verge of extinction as 7-11 franchises are becoming more popular. Store owners are given the opportunities to run their own stores without shelling out the overall capital needed. Not much money to make to be a franchisee but you get to own a professional-running consumer store, at least the rights for it.

Youtube video by: ABS CBN News

Since 7-11 stores cannot be inside residential villages, Filipino lifestyle could change. Having a small store within dwelling areas can allow residents to just run into them when they need something in a daily basis. Besides, delivery boys won’t be having those jobs if one day, small stores cannot operate anymore. Manpower do not have to be on salaried basis because normally, family members of these store owners and their helpers could take turn in watching the store. Hoping that this side of the business will stay to let the local economy go on as usual.

Clarence Paul Oaminal: Battle against Illegal Drugs will only be won within our homes

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
The Battle against Illegal Drugs will never be won in the streets, it would only be won within our homes; said Atty. Clarence Paul Oaminal over his Facebook post today. Atty Oaminal, former Undersecretary of the Dangerous Drug Board and author of a political law book did not elaborate on the quote but he has continued his advocacy to help prevent or stop the use of illegal drugs nationwide through his connections particularly in his home town, Cebu.

He is also seen supported by Senator Tito Sotto on his bid to urge cities and municipalities to establish their own rehabilitation centers for those affected by the current public menace – that has been becoming very dangerous not only to the guilty criminals but also to innocent families that are striving for their daily sustenance as extra judicial killings in the country escalate.

Atty Oaminal’s comment can easily be translated into; stop the killings of illegal drug criminals because it will not work in stopping the abuse of illegal drugs. Instead, nurture your homes so that children and adults will not resort to those deadly remedies – and the government should come up with public services that will allow family bread winners to supervise their household properly. It can be in the form of more rehabilitation centers, livelihood programs, quality health care, educational campaigns and other quality public services.

International Media Took Part in Ruining Imelda Marcos’ Image

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Like any other gossip, one interesting rumor involving a prominent person can easily escalate when echoed by another then spread out like wild fire. The former Philippine First Lady did not have that utmost love for shoes as signified by the media here and abroad – she won’t even have to buy one. The 3,000 to 7,500 (the numbers are even conflicting) reported shoe collection she left behind during the 1986 EDSA revolution at her quarters at the Malacanang palace when they were ousted were definitely no match to that of Sarah Jessica Parker’s in “Sex in the City”.

Come to think of it. Her late husband the best Philippine President the Philippines ever had – as President Rodrigo Duterte claimed, ruled the country for twenty long years. Why would she keep those shoes when she can just give them away to charity like what she always do? Mature people knew that you cannot keep those shoes for a long period of time because after few months, they will be rotten if not used. Sure enough – her so-called shoe collection under the Aquino administration are now infested with termites at the Marikina museum.

Now congresswoman Imelda Marcos for Ilocos Norte was really misjudged by the press because when writing those negative stories about her, they did not check how many livelihood programs she supported for the development of the shoe industry in Marikina – and all she got as a token of appreciation were those personalized shoes specially made for her. See, most of them she did not even get to wear but because of their sentimental value, she kept them and cared for them as displayed and sanitized nicely – like how those small shoe entrepreneurs take care of their shoe business in Marikina in memory of her kindness.

Outcome of Bongbong Marcos’ Electoral Protest: Fearless Prediction

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
It is pretty unusual that on the day of Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s submission of electoral protest for the Vice Presidential race against Robredo, the media has been very quite about it except this fearless prediction found online which is actually believable.

It says: Bongbong Marcos’ filing of electoral protest before the Presidential Electoral Tribunal will be met with sympathetic favor, thus eventually putting into effect what had been predicted before – that he was cheated and is therefore the rightful Vice President of the Philippines. A backlash of protest from current VP Leni Robredo and camp would also be upcoming.

And continued: Eventually, it will be Bongbong Marcos who will get to continue on as Vice President and Ms. Leni Robredo would have to step down with a lot of controversies and negative disfavor hounding her.

Binay’s Backing Marcos: Not for Election but for the Future

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Outgoing Vice President Jejomar Binay is a human rights lawyer who fought for the rights of the people abused during the Martial law years. After 27 years, Congress passed a Marcos compensation law, a legislation that orders the former strongman and his family liable for human rights abuses under Martial law by providing P10 billion remuneration payout for the alleged victims’ executions, enforced disappearances and torture whether Marcos is guilty or not – since he was the president when these atrocities happened.

Manila Times wrote: “The best assumption is the goodness of the man,” Binay said in defense of senator Marcos. The Marcoses are back in power. Former First Lady Imelda Marcos is a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ilocos Norte. Her daughter Imee is the governor of Ilocos Norte. Binay said he wants a presidency that is unifying and healing, citing that it has been done in the past as evidenced by the good diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Japan. “That chapter is over. We have to move on,” the vice president said. Binay, however, admitted that there are ghosts that haunt people forever despite not knowing the truth about the real root of their sufferings.

Binay understands that martial law victims cannot easily erase doubts – but it’s all over. Binay got his wishes of having a unifying president in Duterte – and better yet, a stronger and tougher ally of Bongbong Marcos that could deliberately lead the people into knowing the truth about the best president Philippines ever had!

Marcos’ Burial can set things straight on his Heroism and will disclose the real Culprit

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
As quoted in this Manila Times article – “The placing of the dead,” writes the British anthropologist Nigel Barley, “is never arbitrary. It is a clear act of classification and a statement of where they belong.” – simply explains the Marcoses’ goal of burying their dead into his rightful plot as a symbol of their struggle to open the eyes of Filipinos that contrary to the media propaganda staged by the real culprit Ninoy Aquino against the great leader Ferdinand E. Marcos, he was only doing what’s good for the Filipino masses within the power bestowed upon him.

The burial might start with a long procession – perhaps from Batac, Ilocos Norte to be exaggerated going towards the “Libingan ng mga Bayani” in the greater Manila area, with flamboyant flowers and ornaments decorating the passageways along land, seas and air channels – and accompanied by never ending drum and bugle core playing the cha cha or never ending Filipino serenade that used to be the late President’s theme song with his wife, then First Lady Imelda, “Dahil Sa ‘Yo”. The point is, no matter how grand the final ceremony can become, mark these words: tears of joy will be shed that finally, the best ever president is getting the right burial fit for how he was as a leader loved by many if not all.

This burial will serve as enlightenment that Marcos the great was not a dictator – for all the things he did were within the mandate of the Philippine constitution. There are also no hidden wealth to be recovered because he never had fair trials that can accuse him that. If the family became wealthy it’s simply because of his brilliance negotiating with international commerce that made his reign the golden era of the Philippines. Finally, Marcos’ burial in the Heroes’ Cemetery will put an end to the lies of the yellow faction that until now still trying to cheat their way back into power – just to serve the greedy intentions of the so-called “elite wannabes”!

Why Do Anti Martial Law Activists Support Bongbong Marcos, like Binay?

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Jojo Binay is known to be an avid supporter of Bongbong Marcos, before, during and after the election where the latter ran for Vice President but lost to Leni Robredo amidst fraud allegations – despite being a human rights lawyer during martial law days. He is not alone in this kind of situation. Former anti-martial law activists who participated in the ouster of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. are now appealing to the public — to move on from issues of the past. Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos, labor leader Terry Tuazon, Cocofed Chairman Efren Villasenor, and Born-Again Bishop Butch Belgica expressed support for the vice presidential bid last election.

He also said that three decades already passed with two presidential terms of the Aquinos but justice has not been served yet for many. So, it is not anymore the fault of the Marcoses. Tuazon, a unionist during martial law, for his part even admitted that he was impressed with Marcos’ labor platforms. Villasenor also noted that it was the senator who backed their position over how the coco levy fund is to be used and ensured that this will benefit coconut farmers throughout the country. Bishop Belgica added that the senator is the most qualified to become vice president and will become an asset to the winning president, because of his long experience in handling local government.

Marcos was pleased to hear that these former anti-Marcos activists expressed their support for him despite the negative media propaganda against him and his father. All of them agreed to Binay that there has been no administration that performed better than the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos’ government especially after the Edsa Revolution in 1986 – and the Aquinos are the worst ever leaders that the Philippines ever got.

Sabah Claim: BS Aquino can be Treason-guilty on Lahad Datu Handling

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Treason is a violation of allegiance to one’s sovereign or to one’s state; the betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith. It’s definition ruled around the offense of acting to overthrow one’s government or to do harm or kill its sovereign – which many law experts believe that the outgoing President Benigno Simeon Aquino is guilty of. His determination to approve the BBL where many policies favor Malaysia over Philippines and his obvious mishandling of the Sultanate of Sulu’s men who returned to Lahad Datu in Sabah via unofficial passageways not manned by Malaysians – knowing that it’s their own homeland eversince their ancestors’ time, are just few of the possible known grounds.

This so-called journey home to Sabah by around 200 Sultanate of Sulu followers became a humanitarian crisis – with majority of these men being slaughtered by the Malaysian authorities with BS Aquino just shrugging off his shoulders. He critisized his own people for pursuing the suicide attack – without compassion and without much efforts in coming to terms with the Malaysian land grabbers for maximum tolerance. Thousands of Filipinos evacuating from Sabah became refugees in Zamboanga, Some said that; “Malaysian policemen ordered Filipino men to run as fast as they could and shot them,” said a report by the Philippine Daily Inquirer. “Even pregnant women and children have been hunted down and killed as the Malaysians fire mortars and embark on a house-to-house search,” according to the Philippine Star. These people did not belong to Sultan Jamalul Kiram III’s forces. They were just native Filipino settlers in Sabah.

Filipinos cannot forget Aquino’s calling Jamalul’s brother Rajah Mudah Agbimuddin Kiram and his men to surrender before any negotiations or please with the Malaysian leaders can happen. He also threatened to charge the Kirams of rebellion, as per the Justice department. They were deliberately turned over to Malaysian authorities to be prosecuted instead of trying to bring them back home safely. Malacañang also acted confused over the legitimacy of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III – telling the media that many members of the Kiram clan were claiming to be Sultans when Sultan Jamalul was the only recognized head of the Sultanate even before his predecessor’s time. He clearly abandoned his own people, kept quiet on the Sabah claim and sided with Malaysia during many instances when his pople needed him the most. Aquino like Razak and his officers are responsible for the carnage of Filipino men, women and children in Sabah – and that will not be forgotten. Justice must be served!

Malaysia Masterminding Mindanao Instability to counter Sabah Claim Possible

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Malaysia’s deputy prime minister claimed that the RM12 million was handed over to the Special Branch for contribution to Philippine organizations who helped with the negotiations to free the four Malaysians hostaged by Abbu Sayyaf. He denied that it was ransom. However, the Filipino groups have no links to the terrorists. The Special Branch mentioned is Malaysia’s intelligence service.

As Manila Times reported; “The ransom payment has triggered a political firestorm in Malaysia because of the contradictory statements issued by government officials. Home Minister Hamidi disclosed that the funds were turned over to the Special Branch, which presumably turned them over to the Abu Sayyaf. Lau, who represented the families of the four hostages, even narrated that two Special Branch officers, with an approval letter from Bank Negara, withdrew the sum and carried them in 12 metal cases to the police station.”

The first claim was denied by Malaysia’s Police Inspector-General Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar that the Special Branch did not receive such money, and he insisted that no ransom was paid. He explained that the Abu Sayyaf released the hostages after the Malaysian government threaten to stop the Malaysia-Mindanao barter trade – which no person in his right mind would believe. Can the Malaysians be funding the Abbu Sayyaf to create instability in Mindanao to instill their illegal Sabah ownership? Very possible indeed!

Marcos’ Golden Age is Enhanced by Aquino’s Dysfunctional Performance

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
People who knew the truth will indeed reason out that Marcos’ era was a “golden age” and since the two terms of the Aquino’s are not any better, the popularity of that Marcos time can only be expounded. Under the Duterte administration, Bongbong Marcos can continue to insist that the nation needs to “move on from Martial Law propaganda and focus on solving problems of the present.

It does not matter if Bongbong Marcos will emerge victorious or not after his electoral protest for as long as he is certain that his seat is kept warm for him by no other than President Duterte of course, who continously ignore Leni Robredo during his cabinet meetings.

Perhaps, it’s about time to correct the media propaganda initiated by Ninoy Aquino against Marcos – by blaming the late president for martial law killings and human rights violations of those times. When in fact, most human rights lawyers during the martial law period are now backing up Bongbong Marcos to set the record straight and one prominent lawyer at that happens to be the outgoing Vice President Jejomar Binay.
