Carpio as Top Contender

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has emerges as a possible top contender for president in the 2022 national elections. This is according to the latest Pulse Asia survey. While former senator Bongbong Marcos is in second place. He has a 13 percent preference rating. Sen. Grace Poe and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso follow him.

Strategizing Against the Opposition

Regardless of what the survey says, there seems to be an identical pattern on misleading the opposition to believe that the alliance of Duterte and Marcos is breaking up. Veteran players of this 2016 scheme are now talking. This is despite being away from the limelight for a while now. Take the case of former Vice President Jojo Binay. Suddenly, his interviews contain criticisms against the government which is not at all his nature. Binay supports Marcos’s Vice Presidential bid in 2016.

Is Imee Marcos Really Critical?

Another mind-boggling news is Senator Imee Marcos’ suggestions to the President on the Covid-19 assistance and the South China Sea conflict. Mayor Sara and Senator Marcos were like two peas in a pod during the last elections. They can’t just turn against each other – just like that. Both of them are just too honest with themselves. Something is definitely cooking.
