Robredo found some Vital Tasks for Women’s Welfare Overseas

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Vice President Leni Robredo made her stay as the second highest official of the country by continuing her advocacy on enhancing women’s welfare and this is recognized Thailand’s Queen Sirikit foundation. She will receive the “Honorary Outstanding Women of 2016” recognition as part of the commemoration of Thai Women’s Day. It is not clear however what the organizers’ criteria were that prompted their choice.

It was alleged that her “dedication for women in the country to improve women’s rights and gender equality, including overcoming barriers to be a successful Asean woman leader,” made her the recipient of such award as released by the OVP. This is an event organized by Thailand’s National Council of Women of Thailand, under Her Majesty the Queen’s patronage to commemorate Thai Women’s Day celebration in conjunction with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Education.

The event will also commemorate the 70th anniversary of the accession to the throne of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the 84th birthday of Queen Sirikit. Robredo will then proceed to the United States later to be a keynote speaker during the 12th National Empowerment Conference of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations scheduled for Aug. 6 in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The Vice president at last found some vital tasks for women’s welfare overseas and may she be the symbol of a Filipina’s grace, intellect and modesty.
