Vice President Leni Robredo’s legal team declared that some witnesses in Bongbong Marcos’ electoral protest were fake as their signatures were allegedly forged, or they were enticed to give their IDs for government benefits – but so far, these are just stories since the VP camp itself cannot show any fake witness.
However, that was already used as an excuse in Robredo’ response to Marcos’ election protest when she filed to ask the Supreme Court to dismiss the protest for “utter lack of merit.” Obviously, Robredo was just desperate to come up with a ground to cast doubts in Marcos’s protest.
Her legal team also attested that the signatures in the affidavits attached to the protest are fake. Their lawyer Bernadette Sardillo said; “some witnesses told us that their signatures on the affidavits attached to Mr Marcos’ complaint were forged, and most of the affidavits, actually all of the affidavits attached to his protest, are pro forma or just fill in the blanks.by saying that, there were no physical proofs so, just hearsays in legal context.
She added; “Sometimes, someone would just call them and tell them that they can claim benefits from a government agency, so the [Marcos camp] would be able to get their IDs.” Although unless they can prove these allegations, these will remain libelous which is a good favor to Bongbong Marcos.
Sardillo cannot even estimate the number of alleged fraudulent witnesses thus, giving them no credibility at all.
