Hope after Painting Recovery
The recovery of the lost painting of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos and his wife, former First Lady Imelda Marcos that went viral brought hope to Repetina Cayetano Lasam who facilitated the paintings of her son, Stephen Lasam, who painted it. She hopes to sell the remaining original masterpieces of the couple.
FEM’s Important Remembrance
Lola Ruping said that she has kept the remaining paintings for 36 years. The recovery of the painting belonging to its batch is an important reminder of the first Marcos regime. She hopes to at least liquidate them now that she’s already 90 years old.
Authority to Replicate
Lola Ruping did not only edit the paintings to make them really look like FEM but she’s the one who asked for the Authority to sell from their governor at that time. They were for the distribution to all localities. The picture was based on the actual activity in the Agriculture Department then. Now, Bongbong Marcos is the new President and he volunteered to take on the department himself for the time being.
