Apple iOS 10

Both seasoned iPhone users and newcomers alike go through all the troubles of discovering upgrades incorporated into the latest Apple iOS 10. Sometimes, upgrades hidden from plain sight prove to be the most useful improvements over time.

Reopening Recently Closed Tabs

It is frustrating to accidentally close tabs in Safari. With iOS 10, users simply need to tap on the new tab icon and give a long press on the “+” symbol. A list of recently closed tabs will appear for hassle free reopening.

Revamp In Photos App

iOS 10 made major revamp to the Photos app. Swiping up on a particular photo allows users to see the location where the snapshot was taken. All other photos taken at the same location appears too

Apple iOS 10 is capable of differentiating more than 4,000 different objects. Hence, photo searching by the object or even by individual people is now easier than ever.

iOS 10 Accessibility Feature

With iOS 10, users can now instruct Siri to announce the name of the person calling. This feature is enabled through Settings > Phone > Announce Calls.

iOS 10 now allows users to search a particular keyword in Safari. Within an open Safari page, simply tap the share sheet and select “Find on Page”. Users can also take full advantage of iOS 10 accessibility feature called Magnifier, says Forbes. The feature can be toggled via Settings > General > Accessibility > Magnifier. By triple clicking on the home button, users can put Magnifier into action and make sense of very fine prints in photos.

Phone Protection: NQ Mobile Security 2 years or NQ Mobile Security 1 year

iOS 10 streamlines the process of allowing users to remove all notifications in just a single tap. This tip, however, requires 3D Touch so it’s only applicable for iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 devices.

Gorilla Glass Protects Smartphones from Dropping Breakage

Gorilla Glasses

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Do you always worry to break your phone as you hurry up to do your daily activities? No need to worry now as Smartphone producers are becoming more innovative in addressing that problem. Samsung and Apple devices have tested the Gorilla Glass by Corning already – and the glass maker even enhanced the durability of their product.

BBC wrote: Dropping your smartphone when taking a selfie could soon be less risky, says specialist glass maker Corning. It has launched its next generation of Gorilla Glass – the material used in more than 70% of smartphone screens, including on Samsung and Apple devices. Corning said Gorilla Glass 5 could survive more than 80% of drops from as high as 1.6 metres.

It continued: Shattered or cracked screens are the number one cause of smartphone repairs and customer complaints globally. The new glass was tested on rough surfaces – a demo for journalists showed dummy phones being dropped from a height of 1.6 meters onto a sheet of sandpaper. Some of the phones tested survived over 20 hard drops in the lab. Typically, most phone drops are from between waist and shoulder height. As well as drops, the company said it was twice at good at resisting scratches and other damage compared to what’s currently on the market.
Device manufacturers are expected to unveil products with the new glass within the next few months.

Choosing Android over Iphone

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Most technically knowledgeable people would say, why pay US$600 for an Iphone that does not do the work unlike Android? They might be talking about writing Java or installing software that are not compatible with iOs – but most iPhone users do not care about these things. They are more into being abreast with what their trendy friends have. They are also not interested in the fact that Android is value for money with many designs to choose from and its compatibility to a numerous range of free Apps.

Is it really true that it’s not practical to buy iPhone even just for lifestyle enhancement purposes? For one thing, it costs $400 to repair a broken screen from the official iPhone repair center but then, you can get it fixed for about less than the price or less in other phone repair kiosks – using of course a non-apple screen. Once you’ve replaced any part that is not provided by the official Apple repair center, you better buy a new one because there’s no way that you can have it fixed in that iPhone center again.

The iPhone from Apple is truly an expensive trendy tool. This is why one popular version can become obsolete very quickly! It is a culture of high end products not to allow alteration of their invention for “quality” control purposes and perhaps to prevent imitations also. This makes sense with all the advertising expenses Apple paid to promote iPhone – the way the brand is perceived by the market with purchasing capability. This is why, technical people opt for Android because it costs a lot less for the many possibilities it can create or do. After all, some versions look almost the same as the most recent iPhone series – and one major thing is, Android works well with Google because they made them!

By: Gian Carlo Chua

Samsing & LGGoogle’s Android and Apple’s iOS are giant rivals in the mobile device race. According to the recent survey, Google’s Android has already overtaken iOS and will even make a blast this year. Android apps are serving different brands of mobile phones such as Samsung, LG Nexus series, HTC and many more while iOS remains exclusive to Apple app. One of the biggest advantages of Android phones is their
variety of choices – in terms of compatible applications. Consumers can also buy an Android phone from $200 up to thousands of dollars depending on the specifications that would suit their budget – but it doesn’t mean that the cheaper brand is inferior – just limited in features. In Asian countries, Android phones are more usable because of the dual sim-card feature. Being able to choose the same network provider with the receiving party can lessen the prepaid-load or phone bill.

Samsung Galaxy Note II

The Samsung series are fashionable with exciting styles for any age group. In fact, they are considered as prime smartphones for any event. Galaxy Note II in particular is comfortable to use. Its big 5.5 inches x 720 size is not a disadvantage – in fact the wide screen allows fuller view. It can be great when surfing the internet, taking videos and capturing photos. You will feel the real momentum of any event you want to keep to last a lifetime.

Samsung Galaxy Note II is carrying a fast 4-core processor with 2GB of RAM Android 4.1.1 plus 4.2 update. The 16GB storage can still be expanded. It has a replaceable battery with 3,100mAH capacity – so huge that it can last up to 2 days of normal usage.

Galaxy Note II is supported by 3G data with dual-channel HSPA+. Unfortunately, the mobile phone will get hotter when you use it for longer hours. However, it has a special pen as its unique feature. It is useful to create your own graphics on screen or you can personalize your notes using the handwritten option. So, many users are having fun with this “phablet” or phone tablet.

Galaxy Note II build was made following a high quality standard. You can carry it anywhere without having a bulky handbag or backpack because you can actually put it inside your pocket. It is reasonably priced at about $1,050 up to $1,100.
Google-LG Nexus 4

If you are looking for an Android bearer phone that suits your needs, take a look at Google-LG Nexus 4 that freshly unveiled the 4.2.1 “Androidify” version of Jelly Bean.

LG is very handy due to its slim discreet form. It measures 134x 69 mm and 9mm thick. It has excellent and high resolution screen with 1,280 x 768 pixels. Nexus 4 works fast with its 16GB storage, 1.5GHz four-core processor and 2GB RAM. For normal use, Nexus 4 2,100Ah battery can last over a day.

Nexus 4’s camera has 8 Megapixel resolution and users will also have fun with its Photo Sphere panoramic application – although it’s not that striking compared to some higher versions.

Additionally, LG Nexus 4 has typical choices of wireless connections and sensors. It is also noted to have fast 3G and the new Dual Channel HSPA for standard data transfers is impressive. It is equipped with Bluetooth that supports Near Field Communications. For a smartphone device that costs about $799, it is well-priced and pretty nice.
