War with China intensifies as Asian neighbors, US enhance military drills

War with China

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
North Korea’s old threat of making the first nuclear strike that would surely bring Seoul and Washington into “heap of ashes” was again thrown into the air when irked by the war with China against its neighbors due to territorial disputes and China’s ignoring the ruling from the Hague that rejected its sovereignty claim.

Enhanced joint military exercises by South Korea and the US are ongoing to be able to place the ultimate defense missile system somewhere in South Korea to block China’s prowess.

China’s flashing offensive weapons recently irked Japan, including Beijing’s latest-generation frigate plus long-range bombers to warn or scare neighbors and of course, the U.S. — for them to beg down and put the negotiations for its territorial claims back into the table which the rest of the countries detested including the UN.

Wrecking Ball By Blind Girl from the Philippines

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

The determination of this courageous blind girl from the Philippines is very inspiring to all people with or without disabilities. She might be living happily in darkness but she know very well that she can see clearly what’s inside her heart and mind – as well as what’s in other people when they get in contact with her. Her whole being is as great as her singing prowess:

Come to think of it. We will never know about this girl, if not because of her teachers who feel and care for her. Such a very admirable trait to find ways to source funding for the girl’s further education. Truly, we should live for others to be happy and contented!

Camayan Beach Resort in Olongapo City

welcome
By: Elena Grace Flores
Olongapo City is 200 kilometers away from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila. This is where the Subic Bay is situated that was once the US Military Air Base. Camayan Beach Resort was the recent venue for the International Ocean Adventures event.

Camayan Beach Resort’s being inside the base signifies that this is not for back packers who are into budget accommodation, food and entertainment outlets. Private transport is recommended because it is located pass the Subic Bay International Airport, mountain area and down to the beach where public transport are not regularly routed. However, it’s a little bit more more than a 100 US dollars rate is worth it!

The limited beach front of the Camayan Beach Resort is not a hindrance for the adventurers because the long stretch of beach is just 5 minutes walk from Camayan. This is also where outdoor activities start after booking from the hotel at reasonable rates. The food is superb and their staff are well-trained, efficient and hospitable. They will go out of their way just to make the stay of their guests very memorable! A good place to be during your next holiday.

Dream Came True for the Indonesian Aquathon Athlete

welcome
By: Elena Grace Flores
She was young, fit and very determined Aquathon athlete ready to garner medals for Indonesia during the recent Ocean Adventure event held at the Camayan Beach Resort in Olongapo City, Philippines. Her name is Delisa Sweania Betzeba and she introduced herself as Nia. She is very appreciative to her sponsor, Daniel Chieppa, a French Rotarian who is married to a Balinese and a resident of Bali.

Come to think of it, Nia’s potential and talents may be put to waste – without the kind efforts of Daniel. He heard of her needs to go to the Philippines for the event through a fellow Rotarian. He spearheaded the fundraising for her and no doubt contributed not only majority of the expenses but also his time. The intention to help others is what makes Daniel going strong during his senior years – apart from being a well-respected Yoga master who owns Serenity Eco Guesthouse & Yoga Retreat House 150 meters from Canggu Beach in Bali, Indonesia.

Winning or Losing in the event does not matter much anymore. Nia’s dream to compete in the sports (swimming and running) that she loves internationally is already one of the greatest achievements of her life. Nia’s smile is even sweeter after this event. It is quite a joy being a witness of how to make an innocent girl’s dream come true! This happy development is due mainly to Daniel’s belief that if you already have a full plate, share the rest.

My ForeigNoy Search at Eat Bulaga

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
My ForeigNoy is a contest among Foreigners with Filipino heart showing their cultural Filipino talents. One test is the Tagalog speaking and reading. On top of that, they are asked to show either their dance or singing talent with Filipino music or accompaniment of course. This might be very entertaining but of course one way of preserving the Filipino culture:

Cultural Exchanges which is also accepted in Nunavut culture are rampant especially during the internet age – where people can already hook up with their target hosts abroad. This might not be always successful but with the numerous contestants that Eat Bulaga easily recruited for their daily show, I think ForeignNoy will come a long way. Not just on TV but also in real life!
