Bautista’s Impeachment Clears the First Part of Bongbong Marcos’ Election Protest

election

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

An impeachment complaint is already filed against the Commission on Elections chairperson Andres Bautista. This is on the ground of the betrayal of public trust.  Plus the culpable violation of the Constitution over allegations of ill-gotten wealth. This development clears the way for the recount required on Bongbong Marcos’ election protest which is on the second part.

Impeachment Filed

Former Negros Oriental Rep. Jacinto Paras with his lawyers Ferdinand Topacio and Manuelito Luna filed the impeachment complaint at the House of Representatives’ Secretary General’s office against Bautista. Deputy Speaker Gwen Garcia, Kabayan Rep. Harry Roque, and Cavite Rep. Abraham Tolentino endorsed the impeachment complaint. It fulfills the first requirement for an impeachment complaint to be duly endorsed by a member of the lower House.

Election Corruption

Bautista faced an impeachment complaint about betrayal of public trust and culpable violations of the Constitution for not declaring his true wealth in his Statement of Assets and Liabilities Networth (SALN). Graft and corruption for allegedly receiving commissions from Divina Law Offices, the legal counsel of Venezuelan election technology supplier and Comelec’s biggest contractor Smartmatic are also featured.

Doubts on the Automated Election

Cebu Representative Gwen Garcia said that she decides to endorse the complaint to clear out all speculations since the wife presented to the media passbooks which showed Bautista’s undeclared wealth. The allegations against Bautista cast doubt on the credibility of the recently concluded 2016 elections, she said. “Personally, I have always had serious doubts about the automated voting systems. I think it’s the right time now to see and check on the veracity as well as the credibility of the automated voting system, as evidenced by this very, very controversial happening,” Garcia added.

On to the Recount

Leni Robredo’s Camp always used the first part of Bongbong Marcos’ election protest as the cause for the recount delay. They said that the second part can only start after the first part is resolved. This is about the credibility of the digital election process in 2016. Now that the COMELEC Chair already faces an impeachment complaint after the evidence presented by his estranged wife, the recount must start immediately to satisfy public interest.

Leni Robredo: Bautista’s Scandal Got Nothing to do with Bongbong Marcos’ Protest

scandal

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Vice President Leni Robredo finally denounces the attempts to link her election victory to the Comelec Chair Andres Bautista and his wife’s scandal. Her win is under protest by Bongbong Marcos. She also denied their alleged secret meeting that she calls malicious.

[VIDEO]: Robredo: No ‘secret meeting’ with Comelec chair Bautista

Forced Issue

Robredo cannot help but accuse her detractors of the alleged forced link. She said; “I think it’s just forced. I think they are just forcing a connection with our case, which is unfortunate,” she told reporters in an interview in Naga City.

No Link

The VP said that the allegations raised by Mrs. Patricia Bautista “had nothing to do with the election.” “But it’s saddening that such a private problem is being used by some politicians to further their ends,” Robredo said without elaborating. Is she blaming Marcos again?

Scandal Background

Patricia accused her husband of unlawfully amassing nearly P1 billion in cash and real estate properties. Chairman Bautista, in turn, accused her of attempting to extort money from him and of having an affair. The mud throwing continues until it reaches into the election fraud issue where the Chairman got referral fees from Smartmatic, the provider of election VCMs that is guilty of illegal alteration on the night of the 2016 election.

Dragged Along

Robredo is facing an electoral protest by a rival, Bongbong Marcos.  He questions her narrow victory over him. The slim margin of more than 260,000 votes can easily be disputed by the 3.2 undervotes if the ballot boxes are opened for the recount, he said. Marcos’ own name was dragged into the controversy following rumors that his wife Liza Araneta-Marcos arranged Mrs. Bautista’s meeting with the President despite not knowing her personally. However, Marcos never blames Robredo for it.

Not about Liza Marcos: Patricia Bautista’s Personality Changes from a Battered Wife to a Fighter

battered

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Bongbong Marcos denies his wife, Liza Araneta-Marcos’ involvement between the meeting with Patricia Bautista, Comelec Chair, Andres Bautista’s wife and the President. Chairman Bautista in an interview stresses the change in his wife. He said that a political force may have triggered it. His wife according to many is well-mannered. However, Mrs. Bautista is a battered wife as per her complaint of violence to her and her children against her husband. It is a natural outcome that when a woman gets over her ordeal, she becomes a fighter.

Social Media Rumor

A lawyer for Patricia Bautista confirms that Bongbong Marcos’ wife did not set up their meeting with the President Rodrigo Duterte. “It’s not Tita Liza. If it were her, I would have told you,” Martin Loon, Mrs. Bautista’s lawyer, said. Loon was referring o Liza Araneta Marcos. The lawyer made the clarification as rumors circulate on social media that the former Senator’s wife facilitated the meeting between Mrs. Bautista and Du30.

Not Classmates nor Friends

There were also rumors that Mrs. Marcos and Mrs. Bautista were classmates. In the same television interview, Mrs. Bautista denies that she knew Mrs. Marcos. “I don’t even know Liza Marcos,” she said.

Tale of Two Wives

Mrs. Bautista and Mrs. Marcos have many things in common. Both are from prominent families, educated, bright, beautiful, loving, and have minds of their own. Women like these if not all wives must be nurtured by their husbands like how the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos takes care of his first lady, Imelda Marcos.

Liza Marcos’ Advantage

Liza Marcos’ advantage over Mrs. Bautista is the fact that she is not a battered wife. She is in full partnership with her husband in whatever decision they take. Despite the 3-decades long anomaly of her husband’s family on the alleged hidden wealth, she is not left in the dark. The brother of Mr. Bautista testifies that she knew about their investment but since the documents are locked up, she is still clueless on the status of the said wealth. Evidence says it all.

Bongbong Marcos: Let the Authorities Decide on Smartmatic-Bautista Election Anomaly

election

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Bongbong Marcos in an ambush interview said that he has no idea on the Smartmatic bribery between the automated election machine supplier and Comelec chair, Andres Bautista as divulged by his wife, Patricia Bautista. He urged everyone to let the authorities decide on the matter.

Spare Liza Marcos

The former Senator denied that his wife, Liza Marcos was the bridge of the meeting between the President and Mrs. Bautista who is battling a personal conflict with her husband over their finances. “We don’t interfere in marital quarrels,” he told reporters in an interview at the House of Representatives.

Marital Affairs

Du30 also confirmed meeting separately with the Bautistas in Malacañang after Patricia called his attention on her accusations against her husband. She speculates that he has unexplained wealth worth nearly P1 billion. He, however, refused to meddle on the marital issues and channeled the alleged anomaly to the investigators.

Marcos does not want to comment on the hidden wealth anomaly of Chairman Bautista as revealed by his wife. Reporters are adamant to get his side because this case directly favors his election protest against VP Leni Robredo. He insists after all that he had no knowledge whatsoever in the said issue.

Immaterial

The namesake of the late President Ferdinand Marcos stresses that his opinion is immaterial if he believes in the accusation or not. It is better to let the case go through its due course. Like the President, he does not want to influence the authorities’ finding on the matter because of the political situation that he is in.

Bautista’s 2016 Election Highlights: Sex, Smartmatic and Bongbong Marcos

election

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

In a shocking admission, Comelec Chair Andres Bautista revealed that he was a victim of theft and sexual abuse at the time his wife took all the alleged documents and bank statements that are now being presented. His sex life is now out in the open. Commission sidelines are divulged and Bongbong Marcos is implicated in the process that also discredits the integrity of the 2016 election.

Comelec Chair’s Sexual Fantasy

Patricia Bautista’s lawyer insists that it’s not her client who had extra-marital affairs but it’s the chairman who has some kind of “Latigo” sexual fantasy. He even has accounts in some pornographic sites where he is into young boys or he sometimes portrayed himself as a woman. One of their condo units was even converted into a sex den. She divulges this to justify that it’s not Mrs. Bautista who is immoral but the Comelec Chairman.

Smartmatic Deal during Election

In her statement to the NBI, Mrs. Bautista said that her husband got commissions from Divina law firm. These are referral fees for Smartmatic, Baseco, and the United Coconut Planters Bank. “Nilo Divina’s checks in Bautista’s name can prove this.” Smartmatic is the supplier of vote counting machines. Divina did not elaborate on his plans to file a complaint against her but confirmed that he will file a libel case against her.

PCGG Ghost Employees

Mrs. Bautista’s lawyer also discloses that Chairman Bautista also had some ghost employees when he was PCGG chair. She tries to prove that Andres Bautista is corrupt contrary to his allegations against his wife. That she just wants money. Therefore, she allows herself to be used by politicians.

Evidence vs Hearsays on Bongbong Marcos

Since PCGG is an agency that chases the alleged stolen wealth of the Marcoses, Bongbong Marcos easily surfaces into the scenario without mentioning his name. This disclosure of Mrs. Bautista is just in time for the upcoming recount for his electoral protest against VP Leni Robredo. However, the chairman’s political defense remains hearsays compared to the evidence presented by his wife.
