Flu or Influenza can be Deadly

Flu or Influenza is a common condition that occurs when there’s sudden climate change or especially during the winter in cold countries. It is a disease in the respiratory system attacking the lungs, nose and throat. Mild flu can be remedied with over the counter medications and traditional home care – but it can also divert into a serious illness and sometimes can be fatal.

You would recognize that a person has a flu when he is she is experiencing fever, coughing dry, throat is sore, having bad headaches, over-fatigued, aching all over the body and suffering from breathing difficulty because of stuffed nose. Bed rest is necessary for many days if the condition is severe.

Influenza is contagious through unprotected coughing or sneezing from the sick person to others in the same area. Infections also be transferred by germs from touching the nose and mouth of the infected individual – who unknowingly touch other people without thoroughly washing hands.

During influenza outbreak, it is best to resort to TIV or LAIV vaccination. Earlier Amantadine and Rimantadine are released and approved for its prevention and treatment of Influenza A – but resistance by other kinds of Influenza is now identified. Note that the Influenza virus causes flu and there are Types A, B and C Influenza that only a doctor can diagnose.

Diptheria is a Preventable Disease

Diptheria is caused by bacteria that can infect the skin, nose, tonsils and throat. Physically visible symptoms include enlarged lymph nodes or somewhat oversized neck and reddened skin. Others can be felt and can’t be ignored like difficulty in swallowing and breathing. Slight fever also seems not going away and skin rashes are not only painful but also swollen.

Diptheria can contaminate other people just by having close contact involving the infected area with the affected person or even just the discharge of the infected skin, eyes, nose or throat. It is common in developing or tropical countries.

Diptheria is preventable with DTap, TDaP and Td vaccines and can be cured with antitoxins and antibiotics. This might be a minor disease during its early stage but when getting advanced – the disease can damage the nervous system, heart and kidneys with or without treatment. So, never ignore those common signs because it can save you or your loved ones from the sufferings brought by the symptoms – and from more serious illnesses!

Alkaline Water Balances Acidity in the Body

The normal or balance PH level for healthy consumption is 7. Lesser than that represents the level of acidity which are called toxins. They are the main cause of human diseases. Higher than 7 is also good to balance the acidic intake. Bottled Alkaline water that is essential to balance such acidity is not yet widely distributed in the Philippines. However, there are water devices that can be bought and installed for healthier lifestyle.

Sweets and carbohydrates in general will turn into acids when processed internally but vegetables give out higher Ph level. They will balance the acidity in the body when consumed together with toxins such as alcohol, artificial sweeteners like in sodas or soft drinks and dairies.

Mind you, popular bottled water available in supermarkets these days are even more acidic than alcohol or gin in particular.
