Bong Revilla’s Response to Order Misinterpretation for the Election 2019

Election 2019
By: Elena Grace Flores

Former Senator Bong Revilla, who seeks to run for Senator during the election 2019 evades plunder charges when the Sandiganbayan acquits him. This is due to the prosecution’s “failure” to prove that he received millions in kickbacks from alleged ghost projects. Those were funds allegedly from his Priority Development Assistance Fund. This means that he is not liable to return the P124.5 million funds taken by the guilty ones contrary to some media reports. Revilla addresses them in a video announcement.

Only the Guilty Ones are Liable

Only businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles and Revilla’s former chief-of-staff Richard Cambe are told to return the said amount to the National Treasury. This is according to Ramon Esguerra, the former lawmaker’s counsel. The last paragraph of the dispositive portion of the Sandiganbayan’s decision shows that after Revilla’s acquittal. Since Napoles and Cambe are guilty of plunder, “pursuant to Article 100 of the Revised Penal Code, they are held solidarily and jointly liable to return to the National Treasury the amount of One Hundred Twenty-Four Million, Five Hundred Thousand Pesos.”

Not Guilty Beyond Reasonable Doubt

The Sandiganbayan promulgates its decision about 4 years since the ex-lawmaker was held in prison. The prosecution fails to show that he is guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Thus, the reason for his acquittal. He still has 16 graft cases pending in connection with the same alleged pork barrel scam.

Wrong Interpretation of the Court Order

Some experts say that the prosecution fails to prove Revilla’s guilt beyond reasonable doubt. But the court seems to find that there are a lot of evidence against Revilla. That he “must be held as equally accountable to the People of the Philippines. This is with respect to the return of the money lost by virtue of the PDAF scam allegedly.” The Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) known as pork barrel or funds set aside for lawmakers’ projects is now unconstitutional as per the High Court ruling in 2013. This happens during its exposé on its misuse during the Aquino administration.

Running for the Senate During the Election 2019

Revilla’s case is the first to have a favorable ruling among dozens of cases involving lawmakers’ PDAF. Former Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce Enrile are also facing plunder and graft charges. This is in relation to the scam wherein Napoles allegedly got ₱10 billion of lawmakers’ funds into bogus non-government organizations. Revilla, Estrada, and Enrile are all out on bail and are to seek a Senate comeback this coming election 2019.

Challenge for Forgiveness

Revilla challenges his critics if they can ask for forgiveness from the highest being for what they have done unto him. He said that he is just thankful to have survived his nightmare through the help of his family and supporters. It makes sense that his acquittal from the criminal case also sets him aside from the civil case.

Bongbong Marcos’ Promise to Matt for the Election 2019

Election 2019
By: Elena Grace Flores

Bongbong Marcos assures his nephew, Matthew Marcos Manotoc that there will be chaos in the election 2019 but there’s nothing to worry about. The whole family will be there beside him every step of the way. Manotoc is set to run as the next governor of Ilocos Norte. His mother, who vacated the position runs for Senator.
Youtube Video by Bongbong Marcos

[VIDEO]: Happy Birthday Matt! You cannot know how proud you have made us all. Onward and upward mattie!

Lots of Teasing

Manotoc wants to be known as the sporty government official who loves to eat. He in fact refers to himself as Mr. Gluttony as his brother, Borgy calls him “matakaw.” He surely knows how to laugh at his weaknesses which is a very positive trait.

Dressing Up for the Occasion

The former Senator expresses his admiration to the young Board Member who has shown impressive moves in the past months or weeks. One major decision was to run for governor replacing his grandmother, Cong. Imelda Marcos who is already 89 years old. He is only 30 years old.

Healthy Advocacy

Senior Board Member Manotoc led the inaugural ceremonies of the new three-generational (3G) playgrounds and fitness parks recently. This is in the towns of Solsona, Sarrat, Vintar, Nueva Era, Banna, Marcos, Bangui, Burgos and Currimao. These projects are in line with his advocacy for more Ilocanos to adopt healthy and active lifestyles regardless of age.

Any Chance for Fariñas?

The young governor bet for Ilocos Norte runs head on against the greatest critic of his mother, Rep. Rudy Fariñas. The outcome of Imee Marcos’ ordeal brought about by the latter during the detention of the Ilocos 6 shows that Marcos has the power over him not just in their hometown but also in the branches of government. This puts Fariñas into a bad light.

Election 2019 Promise

Bongbong Marcos is another foundation of Manotoc aside from his mother. He swears to give is utmost support to his nephew without failing to warn him that it’s not going to be easy. However, they both have the mechanism and influence to put on the line for him to become the next governor of Ilocos Norte replacing ex-Gov. Marcos.

Senator Bet Glenn Chong: Lucky to be Disowned by BBM as Ressa Bails Out

Senator

By: Elena Grace Flores

Atty. Glenn Chong, Katipunan ng Demokratikong Pilipino (KDP) Candidate for Senator this 2019 election lashes back to Rappler’s Maria Ressa’s previous headline that Bongbong Marcos disowns him. He said that he is lucky to be disowned because it made him credible when it comes to his clean election advocacy. Whereas, the presumptive VP Leni Robredo’s defender Maria Ressa has to bail out after her arrest due to tax evasion cases.

[VIDEO]: Glenn Chong: KDP Senatorial Candidate

Chong’s Challenge

Atty. Chong said that the camp of Leni Robredo tries to mislead the Supreme Court when she files another motion for consideration on her complaint to him that he is affiliated with Bongbong Marcos.  She is lying again when she said that the latter did not answer her accusation. This is on how he got the Ragay data that show election anomalies against BBM’s opponent. In fact, it is in Paragraphs 33 to 42. It is clear in Paragraphs 41 at 42, where all her questions are answered. The only problem according to Chong is – they keep on lying to the public to suit their own narrative. He challenges Robredo that if he’s wrong, to just charge him in court.

Warrant of Arrest for Ressa

Maria Ressa evades arrest by posting bail at a Pasig City Regional Trial Court. Her charge is tax evasion. Judge Danilo Buemio of Pasig RTC Branch 265 issues a warrant for Ressa’s arrest. This is for violation of Section 255 of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997. The bail is set at P60,000.

Out on Bail

Tagum City Executive Judge Arlene Palabrica ordered the release after their lawyers posted a total bail of P1,452,600. Davao del Norte police “initially wanted to defy the order.” The police argued that the P80,000 bail was for the child abuse charges only. It does not include the kidnapping and human trafficking charges. They are still under investigation.

A Rebel’s Mentality

Ressa maintains that the cases had no basis. She said that her company pays the right taxes. Unless the government reclassifies it into a stock brokerage agency given that it has foreign investors. Are the cases the response to its anti-government coverage? “I think it is a way of sending a signal that we have to be careful. That’s part of what they want to do,” she added.

Digital Karma

Chong mocks Ressa for bringing her own mugshots. He thought that she’s brave enough to face the consequences of her actions. Being the aid of the country’s greatest liar, she can end up a lot worse than that. Her group is responsible for creating destructive media propaganda not just against the President but the country itself. They never failed to give Robredo a massive coverage while she reports many lies not just locally but internationally.

Flashback: Bongbong Marcos Talks About Satur Ocampo on Poverty Work Despite Difference in Ideology

poverty

By: Elena Grace Flores

Former Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo denies recruiting minors to join communist rebels as his group was intercepted in Davao. He, however, admits the presence of the NPA in the area. He also agrees that there are Lumads who joined the New People’s Army. The mainstream media seem to highlight the incident. It could just be a basic security protocol. Impartial reactions can definitely lead to the wrong conclusion. Looking back to Bongbong Marcos’ interview on Ocampo, he is not vindictive knowing that the latter’s advocacy is to try to help ease poverty in the country. Marcos said that despite their difference in ideology, he is for working together for the good of the country.

Helping Students in Poverty?

Ocampo also said he is no longer part of the CPP-NPA. He maintains that his actions are independent. Ocampo and 17 other leaders of militant groups and volunteer “Lumad” or indigenous teachers were put in a temporary prison cell. Human trafficking of students, kidnapping and child abuse are their alleged offenses. It was in a village of Talaingod town in Davao Del Norte. Ocampo’s group insists that they were on an emergency rescue with consent from the parents.

National Security Protocol

Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Albayalde, meanwhile, welcomes the group’s threat to sue the authorities if there are mishandlings over the case. Ocampo has no knowledge of Albayalde’s claim that the Lumad students in Davao Del Norte practice a different national anthem taught by the rebels.

Clarification Sought

Palabrica said prior to the release of the supplemental order, police officer and lawyer Louie Padillo manifested in court that they would not release the respondents even after posting bail. This is due to their preliminary investigation for kidnapping and human trafficking charges. She said she has to issue the order in view of “the unexpected manifestation of PO Lawyer Padillo. It prompted an angry reaction from Congressman Carlos Zarate and the other respondents who are expecting to be released.”

Take it from Bongbong Marcos

Politicizing issues with the help of the mainstream media might come very handy for politicians seeking positions for the election 2019. Bongbong Marcos’ ideals linger as he speaks fairly about Filipino politicians with an ideology opposite his. He sees no reason why he must contain his anti-poverty measures among his supporters only. Leaders from all factions must work together to alleviate poverty nationwide.

Election 2019 Substitution: Imee Marcos’ Son Matthew Runs for Governor Opposite Rudy Fariñas

election 2019

By: Elena Grace Flores

Imelda Marcos’ grandson, Ilocos Norte 2nd District Senior Board Member Matthew Marcos Manotoc, will run for governor instead of her. Manotoc, the son of Ilocos Norte Governor and bet for Senator, Imee Marcos, originally filed his candidacy for vice governor. This makes the previous politicizing in the Congress launched by Rep. Rodolfo “Rudy” Fariñas against his mother clearer than ever. The Ilocos 6 suffered a great deal just for Fariñas to get an edge over Manotoc-Marcos for the election 2019. How could Ilocos Norte forget?

Youtube Video by Bongbong Marcos

[VIDEO]: Rep. Imelda marcos, umatras sa kandidatura sa pagka-gobernador; papalitan ni BM Matthew Manotoc

Substituting Imelda Marcos

Matthew Marcos Manotoc, incumbent Senior Provincial Board Member, will run for Governor of Ilocos Norte. Previously, he had filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for Vice Governor of the province but decided to finally substitute his grandmother, 2nd District Rep. Imelda R. Marcos, in the 2019 gubernatorial race.

Opposing the No. 1 Detractor

Manotoc will be running against Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Rodolfo “Rudy”  Fariñas, who substituted for former Barangay Bengcag, Laoag City Jesus Arimbuyotan as the gubernatorial bet recently. Fariñas strategy seems to boomerang to him. He is now opposed by the more younger and charming Marcos. Manotoc’s mother, Imee’s ordeal in the Congress definitely failed. Imelda Marcos is also smart enough to pretend that she is really running despite her old age.

Ferdinand Marcos’ Kin Runs for Vice Governor

Board Member Mariano “Nonong” Marcos has substituted Manotoc for the vice gubernatorial race as well. Nonong Marcos is the son of Pacifico, the younger brother of Imelda’s husband and former President, the late Ferdinand Marcos whose works still exist at the present time in service to the Filipino people.

Politics in the Congress

The House of Representatives allowed majority leader Rodolfo Fariñas and House accountability committee chairman Johnny Pimentel to harass Gov. Imee Marcos. It detained six officials of the Ilocos Norte provincial government on the strength of what it construes as “contempt of the House” or “obstruction of justice”. The six detained officials, who are known as “Ilocos 6,” are Pedro Agcaoili, chairman of the planning and development office; Josephine Calajate, provincial treasurer; Eden Battulayan, Encarnacion Gaor and Genedine Jambaro, staff at the treasurer’s office; and Evangeline Tabulog, provincial budget officer.

The North Remembers in the Election 2019

It is a sure win for Manotoc, a champion amateur golfer like his dad, Tommy Manotoc is a viral comment over social media. Given the stunts of Fariñas, it is likely that most Ilocos Norte voters would go for a Marcos whose family is known to prioritize their people than their position. Surely, Imee Marcos is right that the North indeed remembers.
