Bongbong Marcos Doesn’t Mind: Uson’s DSWD Online Survey that Robredo Tops is a Peace Offering

online

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

ASec Mocha Uson is a known critic of Vice President Leni Robredo. She surprises her by including Robredo in the online survey for possible DSWD Secretary choice. Eventually, she tops the poll and Bongbong Marcos who is for unity seems to not mind despite his ongoing protest against the VP. Palace Spokesperson Ernesto Abella thinks that this is difficult. He, however, trusts that the President has his way of doing things.

Public Gratitude

Vice President Leni Robredo expresses her gratitude to the public after she tops an online survey on the next social welfare secretary. Her critic, Mocha Uson, a blogger and assistant communications secretary of the Du30 administration initiates it. Robredo said that she was surprised that Uson included her among the choices. The VP should know that ASec Uson is now a government employee like her and in that instance, both should act as public servants and not as the campaigners for their party. This can be taken as a peace offering from Uson to Robredo.

Voters’ Trust

“First of all, I was surprised because my name was included. I also thank Asec. Mocha for believing in our ability to handle the position,” the Vice President said. She is also grateful to those who showed their trust by voting for her. Robredo tops the online survey through Uson’s Twitter account. It garners 81 percent of the votes. Uson initiates the poll after the decision of the Commission on Appointments to reject Judy Taguiwalo as head the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Top Choices

Vice President Leni Robredo, Social Welfare Assistant Secretary Lorraine Badoy, and former Tarlac Representative Monica Teodoro-Prieto are included in the list of people who might replace Taguiwalo. Uson’s survey showed that Robredo is taking a wide lead against the Badoy and Prieto.

Not Saying NO to Robredo

Abella downplays the online poll. He said that the President has his own ways of picking the next DSWD chief. “I’m sure the President has the other ways of measuring a candidate’s capability, aside from surveys. It means that the President has a different set of categories,” he clarified. It seemed to be a “difficult choice.” “Perhaps, there may be conditionalities that may not be too favorable regarding that if it happens. I don’t know. It all depends on the President.” “I mean, I’m not saying no for Leni, I’m saying that it seems to be a difficult choice,” he added.

PH-Bahrain Bilateral Deals Benefit OFWs and the Country if Travelers Impose Rights against Corruption

OFWs

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

In a news conference in Qatar, presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella confirmed the agreements forged between PH-Bahrain on bilateral trade, avoidance of double taxation, strengthening of aviation links and new investments with the said country. The President himself also addresses the Filipino community there particularly the OFWs who are given tips on how to stop corruption from their end.

[VIDEO]: President Rodrigo Duterte meets the Filipino community in Bahrain on Good Friday, April 14.

Bilateral Agreement

Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Du30 attended the signing ceremony after their bilateral talks at Sakhir Palace where they discussed such economic cooperation. No loans were discussed but investments as claimed by detractors that the president’s travel include some money-borrowing spree.

Department of OFWs

In the president’s speech among Overseas Filipino Workers in Bahrain, he stresses that to assist them for their every need, they can go to their one specific branch, the Department of OFWs. A government official later contested this because this is allegedly opposite to their goal of stopping migrant workers to keep them in the country instead when livelihood programs are enhanced. But Filipinos do know that the demand and good deals overseas can’t easily stop the Filipino diaspora.

Online Transactions

Due to the nature of OFW movements, the president takes into consideration their convenience thereby installing online services for them from application to queries when they are already abroad. This is one effective tool in today’s world.

Illegal Collection and Detention

The president urges OFWs to help him realize his campaign promise to stop corruption in the country. They can very well do this by insisting on their rights. Knowing when to refuse to pay some money for illegal favors is crucial especially in the immigration and customs departments as well as the BIR.

Nancy Binay Agrees with Palace that Trillanes Has No Credibility

Trillanes

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV already lost his credibility. He must be ignored. Malacañang does not give in to his cravings. Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said that the Palace would rather focus on “nation building” than entertain the accusation of Trillanes that President has P2.4 billion in his bank accounts. Senator Nancy Binay agrees with this when she said that Trillanes does not have an inch of credibility and yet he talks like a saint.

Youtube video by; GMA News
[VIDEO]: Palace Spokesman Ernesto Abella. Rehash has been dealt with 3 days before the elections. Trillanes has to go to higher authorities if he has basis on the alleged bank accounts of the president. Trillanes must be the one to prove that they exist.

Corrupt because of Arroyo?

Trillanes also accuses the president of being corrupt because he allows former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to be free from prison. She is released from detention over the court’s decision for lack of evidence on the plunder cases filed against her. Why blame PDu30? She is clearly a political prisoner of rival, former President Noynoy Aquino, Trillanes’ boss who pardons him for rebellion.

Bank Account Records Falsified by Trillanes

Abella sais that the document that shows the undeclared wealth of the President and his family is “falsified” when Trillanes brought up the issue during the 2016 elections. So, he’s a liar in the sense that he is capable of faking legal documents. He is no longer credible. He should not be given that kind of attention that he wants, that he craves for, Abella said. The presidential spokesperson added that the senator does not merit attention since he is making a claim sans integrity.

Nancy Binay: Trillanes does not an Inch of Credibility

Senator Nancy Binay’s statement saying that Trillanes does not have credibility and yet he talks like a saint to discredit her father’s presidential bid in 2016 applies to the current situation. Trillanes is noted to stage senate plays and media shows to destroy the reputation of his party’s political opponents. Since PDu30 is seen as the bridge of Bongbong Marcos to the executive office, the Liberal Party is expected to do everything to block that. This is from cheating as per the electoral protest against VP Robredo to media propaganda by Trillanes and the likes.

Snubbed by the President

The President honors cases with integrity. He said that if Trillanes has evidence, he will resign. PDu30 merely shrugs off the senator’s “old and rehashed” claim on his alleged hidden wealth. Since he already won as president, that means no one believes Trillanes anymore.

The President is not Expected at the Camp Aguinaldo’s 31st Edsa Celebration on Feb 24 but in Bangsamoro Meet

Edsa celebration

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

The President is not expected to attend the 31st-anniversary celebration of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution but anything can happen. Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella confirms that Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea represents Du30 during the activity in Camp Aguinaldo. President Digong is scheduled on February 24 to go to the Bangsamoro Transition meeting in Davao, at the same time the event takes place.

[VIDEO]: On rumors of an ouster plot versus President Rodrigo Duterte: “There are news circulating and I think we agree with the saying where there’s smoke there is fire.”

No “Salubungan”

The “Salubungan” where the soldiers meet up with the people is not reenacted this time. This is one of the major changes in this year’s 31st Edsa celebration of the People’s Power revolution. It’s the first under the Duterte administration. The same simple ceremony as the hero’s burial for the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos. It keeps the administration’s bid to make things simple, Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Menardo Guevarra said.

Bangsamoro Meeting

Abella hints that the president has a surprise during the Edsa celebration. However, the spokesman also talks about the launch of the renewed effort to implement the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro where President Digong is scheduled to attend in Davao City.

When there’s Smoke, there’s Fire at the Edsa Celebration

There are rumors that the Liberal Party prepares to oust the president that coincides with the Edsa celebration. The administration is prepared for this. This is the reason why the official 31st Anniversary is on Feb 24 and not the usual date on the 25th. Aside from the “Walk for Life” gathering of the church prior to the anniversary, there are anti-administration groups that plan to hold rallies. It is not certain, however, if they can beat the pro-administration crowd at Luneta on the 25th.

Rally behind the President at Quirino Grandstand on Feb 25

People who still believe in genuine change that the president aims for gather on Feb 25th at the Quirino Grandstand, Rizal Park in Luneta. This is a way to show support to the policies of the president amidst speculations that some give up on him due to alleged extra-judicial killings. Davao death squad rumors also add up to it. It is interesting to see if the president remains popular after the senate dramas of the anti-administration senators.
