Social Media and ICC Views: Some Filipinos Never Thought that VP Robredo is This Stupid

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

acting workshop

It is a big insult for many Filipinos particularly Bongbong Marcos’ supporters what VP Leni Robredo said during an interview.  Most of her attackers on social media are not real people, she added. This proves to show that she has no clue how social media works. Even trolls cannot function without someone behind it. It is also not the number of posts that make an issue viral but the quality of content. Therefore, Robredo has no right to advice President Rodrigo Du30 not to let his emotions get the better of him in quitting the ICC or International Criminal Court. She definitely does not have the brains needed.

Not Real People

Leni Robredo says in an interview that the attacks that she receives mostly come from a well-oiled infrastructure. They are not from real people. She comments that her small percentage of real people is not enough defending her. It is hard to keep up with her attackers who employ those expensive setups, she said.

Lack of Knowledge or Total Stupidity?

Social media practitioners and online marketing gurus can attest that to get followers, one must be credible, consistent, knowledgeable, an expert on his or her field, and has a unique personality. Originality is a must so to speak given the information overload during the digital age. Online influencers must build their name in a course of time. A politician cannot just hire people to post attacks against their enemies to get patronage using trolls. That won’t last. Besides, Facebook and Google’s strict policies just won’t allow duplicated or reported users to linger.

ICC as a Safety Net

We shouldn’t be ruled by temper in deciding whether or not to quit from the ICC, Robredo pleaded.  However, she forgets that she resigned from Du30’s Cabinet in 2016 due to policy differences. Taking the ICC as a “safety net” for alleged victims of human rights abuse by public officials can only mean that the association can certainly be used by anti-government movers like her against a ruling party or official.

Social Media Criticisms

Perhaps, Robredo does not realize that the very reason why she gets all the negative criticisms via social media is her “shallow” views on sensitive issues. It is really true that once she opens her mouth, she just destroys herself. Then she has the guts to blame it on President Du30 and Bongbong Marcos. A typical trait of a loser.

How is the Shoe Industry after Imelda Marcos’ Collection Scandal?

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

acting workshop

The former Philippine First Lady and now Congresswoman Imelda Marcos is not crazy about expensive shoes. This is contrary to the black media propaganda here and abroad. She does not even have to buy one. The 3,000 to 7,500 pairs of shoes she left behind during the 1986 EDSA revolution at the Malacanang palace in 1986 are samples given by shoemakers themselves for her to promote. Such a popular endorser definitely boost the industry’s reputation as a whole. Where is it now after fake news castigates Cong. Marcos for the ironic shoe collection scandal?

Youtube video by; Elena Grace Flores
[VIDEO]:  Leila Benitez: Every time the shoemakers make a new pattern, they send a copy to the former First Lady Imelda Marcos. It was how she promoted the shoe industry of The Philippines.

The Collection is Back to its Hometown

Marikina is the Shoe Capital of the Philippines. It is a progressive shoe industry that the former first lady promoted by heart. It is also the home of the world’s largest pair of shoes by the Guinness Book of World Records. The Shoe Museum preserves most of the controversial shoes of Cong. Marcos. Who would dare take care of such collection but the makers themselves? The industry will surely thrive continuously because of the Filipino determination. However, a promoter like Marcos could enhance it a hundred folds.

Misjudging Imelda Marcos

The media misjudges Marcos on the subject if not purposely trying to malign her reputation.  They have no idea how many livelihood programs she organizes for the development of the shoe industry in Marikina. Some of these shoes are tokens of appreciation personally made for her in lieu of her help. The rest are samples for new designs.

Love for Humanity

There is no way she can wear all of the shoes recovered but because of their sentimental value, she keeps and cares for them – like how those shoe entrepreneurs give value to their shoe business in memory of her kindness.

Mentality Clashes

The elite who controls most of the country’s giant local media can only put negative colors into Imelda Marcos’ shoe collection for their own advantage. They know that the former first lady is admired by the Filipino masses. The foreign press people can also easily ride on to the mentality of the elite. They do not have the same sympathy and pride most Filipinos have. There is no way they can understand that a well-loved figure like Cong. Marcos can help alleviate poverty just by inspiring her people. It only takes one good leader to inspire the rest of the constituents with utmost talents.

Rappler Blasted by Blogger for Out of Tune Bongbong Marcos News etc.

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Sass Rogando Sasot, a mere blogger blasts Rappler even before it’s license was revoked. She cites some evidence of the debunked Media’s biased news especially the one submitted to Bloomberg. Plus its connivance with VP Leni Robredo versus Bongbong Marcos’ online supporters. It also claims anew that it is trending in the Philippines with only 17,000 tweets. A clear indication that they do not have the proper online tools to monitor data. The SEC’s kill order revoking its license to operate is the first of its kind in history – both for the Commission and for Philippine media, it said. It’s CEO, Maria Ressa accuses President Du30 of silencing government-critical media like them.

Media Licence Revoked

The decision of the Securities and Exchange Commission or SEC to revoke Rappler’s registration is for violating the Constitution as per the record. There are words of support from their supporter via social media but it failed to monitor the other side of the fence how happy they are for the good riddance.

Constitutional Violation

In SEC’s order, it focused on the company’s Philippine Depositary Receipts or PDR from Omidyar Network. It says that it violates constitutional restrictions on ownership and control of mass media entities. Under the constitution, Filipinos must own a majority of the company’s share. Besides, the online publication behaves like a blogger and not as a media entity that must be in neutral position. They should not be taking the side of Robredo and must not openly support her trolls in counteracting the popularity of Bongbong Marcos using baseless accusations like the alleged ill-gotten wealth, fake diploma, and anti-Sandro Marcos statements.

Netizen’s Support?

Rappler also said that netizens condemn such action of the government saying that it is a blatant effort to silence the press for its critical reporting against them. As a proof, they quoted LaddadOfficial, Little Red Shoes, and Althea Again’s comments that are obviously fake accounts which posted pro-Liberal Party sentiments. Social media users can only be credible if their real identity is not hidden. Maybe, Rappler also has no clue on that.

Senate Fake News Hearing Unites Du30-Marcos Campaigners

welcome By: Elena Grace Flore

All Filipinos always have political preference may they be in social or mainstream media. The recent proliferation of fake news Senate hearing distinguishes false information from opinions. Bloggers insist that democracy allows them to voice out their side of the story regardless of the other side. This is not the case with journalism as a profession. Analyzing the outcome, it is clear that the Du30-Marcos supporters come to terms with the tandem despite not voting for the same during the 2016 election.

Mocha Uson is Anti-Fake News Unlike Senator Trillanes and VP Robredo

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Presidential Communications Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson defends herself against “fake news” controversies. Uson said that the public must be aware of what Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and VP Leni Robredo are doing in spreading “fake news.”

Trillanes and Robredo’s Fake News

Uson pointed out Trillanes’ interview with BBC HARDtalk’s anchor Stephen Sackur as to why the senator is a “purveyor of fake news.” He only says negative things about the President when the facts show otherwise. He is the same with V.P Leni Robredo. She garnered lots of hatred when she spoke at a UN side event against the drug war with the wrong data.

Past Mistakes

Uson, who was previously blamed for the spread of fake news admitted that she had committed mistakes in the past. This is particularly about her social media post on a corporation that owed the government some P96 billion in taxes based on “Article 263” of the Philippine Constitution.

Facebook Post

Uson also defended her Facebook post where she shared a photo of Honduras policemen while calling for prayers for the Philippine military battling the Maute group in Marawi City. She said she only wanted the public to join in praying for the government forces in Marawi City. Not at all intending to mislead the public.

Anti-Fake News Act

Also, Uson clarified that she neither supports nor opposes Senator Joel Villanueva’s Senate Bill No. 1492 or the proposed Anti-Fake News Act. She remains neutral at this time but lamented that she should not be singled out just because of some mistakes. Those were unintentional. The nature is totally different from Trillanes and Robredo’s lies.
