Atty. Glenn Chong on BBM’s Protest: Why is Macalintal Abandoning Robredo’s Ship

protest

By: Elena Grace Flores

In the Senate hearing back on July 21, 2018, Senator Franklin Drilon kept on linking Atty. Glenn Chong to Bongbong Marcos to stop him from making comments on BBM’s protest. The basis of Senator Drilon’s questions was a letter from BBM’s lawyer, Atty. George Garcia. This letter, dated March 15 was passed to Drilon by one of Robredo’s lawyers. Stated in the letter was that BBM was assigning Glenn Chong to some activities in Sta. Rosa Laguna. As such, the camp of the presumptive Vice President Leni Robredo is asking the Supreme Court to investigate Chong. In any angle, it is certain that Robredo wants to identify Chong as BBM’s lawyer to shut him off under the PET’s gag order. The young lawyer retaliates by making sure to respond to Robredo’s plea on time. This is with all his evidence proving the alleged lies of the presumptive VP. He also lashes on her lawyer, Atty. Romulo Macalintal who is running for Senator under the Liberal Party.

False Narrative

Glenn Chong says that the lawyers of Robredo should know that he didn’t go to the said hearing described in Garcia’s letter. A representative of Robredo was always present in the activities that took more than a week to finish. Atty. Chong claims that he wasn’t there even for a day. To complete their false narrative, Robredo and her supporters show a picture from his Facebook post where he is in the Comelec warehouse in Sta. Rosa. Chong, however, said that particular picture was taken nearly 5 months before.

No Concrete Evidence

Chong attests that there was no evidence of Robredo’s accusation because the said picture was not specifically taken between March 20 to 27 of 2017. Despite that, this fabricated story by the Camp of Robredo made it to the so-called yellow media. They still publicized the news and deceived the public. He also asserts that if he was sent but he didn’t go, it only shows that he has his freedom to not follow orders as he is not a representative of BBM.

Manifestation to Investigate Chong

Robredo’s camp filed a manifestation of grave concern with an urgent motion to the Presidential Electoral Tribunal indicating their suspicion on Atty. Chong. They particularly would like the PET to investigate how he acquired access to the audit logs from Ragay Town of Camarines Sur as well.

One of the Resource Persons

One of the 3 pilot provinces that BBM picked for his poll protest was Camarines Sur. Incidentally, Camarines Sur is Robredo’s home province. In their manifestation, Robredo’s camp cites partial transcripts of the July 31 Senate hearing regarding the alleged poll fraud of 2016. Chong was allegedly one of the resource people who divulged such anomaly. Nevertheless, Chong insisted that he got the data from the Senate Electoral Tribunal.

Chong is Not Marcos’ Lawyer for the Protest

Atty. Chong firmly denies being a representative of Marcos. He says that Robredo’s camp is only insisting on the connection so that he would be put under by the gag order s well. However, at the rate that the protest is going, the pilot provinces should be done by the end of the year. He also notes that even Macalintal is abandoning Robredo’s ship. The veteran lawyer clearly does not want the liability of Robredo’s failure that can happen anytime in 2019. That would be very timely for the midterm elections as well. Therefore, Macalintal’s candidacy is a very effective way to be off the hook. Macalintal reiterates that his job as an election lawyer is different from his job as a candidate. He also gave the assurance that he “will not take advantage of the situation.”

Bongbong Marcos is Bleeding Money to Preserve the People’s Rights to Know the Truth

money

By: Elena Grace Flores

Most Filipinos are grateful that Bongbong Marcos pays the gag order rule violation penalty than leave people in the dark. He is keen to air his observations of the ongoing manual recounts. This is in both the Camarines Norte and Iloilo priority areas. However, it’s not his nature to spit the outcome of undisclosed electoral protest against Leni Robredo. His camp is compliant to almost all rules of the PET if not all. Since paying the Php 36 Million protest fee in full, Marcos still bleeds money. The recent one is the said fee that amounts to Php 50,000. Robredo continues to buy time as usual.

Good that Marcos has Money

It may be an advantage that the former Senator is wealthy enough to spend for all the demands of the PET He can always raise money from equally-abled friends if it’s too much to affect his cash flow. All he wants to find out is the truth and according to various developments in the Senate, he is likely the legitimate Vice President of the Philippines.

The Undemocratic Gag Order

The PET in late June imposed a fine of P50,000 each on Marcos and Robredo as a penalty for their violation of the sub judice rule. It bars parties to a case from making disclosures that could result in the prejudging of matters pending before a court. Marcos’ poll protest against Robredo is a challenge to her victory in the 2016 election. It involves a manual recount of ballots from three pilot provinces. The results determine whether the recount will proceed to the rest of Marcos’ contested voting precincts.

The Denial Queen

Robredo said that she nor her counsels did not reveal sensitive information about the poll protest. Marcos, on the other hand, said his own camp’s statements were not meant to prejudge the issue, influence the court, and obstruct justice. They are just his mere observations. She, nonetheless claims that she is just merely answering Marcos’ disclosure. Ultimately, the questionable VP can never refrain from pointing fingers at Marcos.

The Manner of the Payment Process

Marcos through his counsels, unto this Honorable Tribunal (PET), most respectfully manifests that he has paid the amount of Fifty Thousand Pesos (P50,000) in compliance with its Resolution dated 26 June 2018,” stated Marcos’ compliance document.

Preserving the People’s Rights

The amount mentioned is just minimal to preserve the people’s rights to know the truth. The secretive nature of the PET in treating Marcos’ electoral protest triggers the people’s curiosity with the integrity of the automated election. Since Atty. Glenn Chong reveals many anomalies that benefit the LP bets in 2016, loyalists of both Marcos and Du30 are now ready to take their fight into the streets in a public protest. They would soon gather in front of the COMELEC on August 10, 2018, at 2 PM.

Bongbong Marcos Answers a “Very Serious” Question Despite Gag Order

gag order

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

acting workshop

Just as when the Presidential Electoral Tribunal ordered the camps of Vice President Leni Robredo and former Senator  Bongbong” Marcos to refrain from discussing their respective poll protests in public in a gag order, Marcos publishes his 4th video series. It contains his recent appearance at the Caloocan University. Apparently, he was not the one that the crowd expects to see. The truth comes out during the Q and A portion when a lady from the audience pops the very serious question. Where is Sandro?

Gag Order on VP Electoral Protest

The tribunal issued the order last February 13, as it called on both parties to observe the sub judice rule in light of the impending start of the recount of votes. The sub judice rule prohibits public discussion of cases pending before the courts.

Charisma and Humor

With charisma and humor, Marcos always empowers the youth. He addresses the Millennials and acknowledges them as the Majority Demographic of the Philippines today. If the Millenials could act together, they have the power to elect any official in any position, he said. Despite the failures of the system, Bongbong Marcos still urges the youth to be involved to make the politics of today better., he added

Icebreaker

Since both camps cannot give interviews anymore to clarify their actions as far as the protest is concerned, the best way o deal with the issue thrown at the Marcoses is to publish this icebreaker. This tells the people that their choice will always excel not only in this generation but also in the next.

Still a Marcos in the Limelight

Joseph Simon, Ferdinand Alexander, and William Vincent all have the bearing and intellect of a Marcos. Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, 23, recently finished his graduate studies at the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science. He accompanies his father often in public appearances. In fact, Sandro often substitutes the older Marcos during his absence in speaking engagements. The millennial crowds welcome this with glee and affection because of his wit and good looks. Sandro is always the darling of the crowd wherever he goes.
