Selective Justice of the previous LP administration continues through the Ombudsman. This is the perception of the public when Conchita Carpio-Morales orders the arrest of Senator Gringo Honasan. The avid Bongbong Marcos is bound to join Senators Jinggoy Estrada, Bong Revilla, and Juan Ponce Enrile over the PDAF scam anomaly. At the same time, the Supreme Court bars VP Leni Robredo’s supporters to help her in paying her balance for her counter-protest against Marcos.

Supreme Court Decision
The Supreme Court that sits as PET rejects the petition of Vice President Leni Robredo’s supporters. They asked SC to allow them to help pay the remaining fee for the election protest. The Piso Para sa Laban ni Leni members are disappointed with the High Court’s decision.
Robredo’s supporters cannot accept the SC ruling. “We shall set forth arguments not previously raised and build on points already stated in the petition,” he added. Presidential Decree No. 46 prohibits public officials from receiving gifts or any other valuable thing on any occasion when the gift is given because of an official’s position. This is regardless of whether or not the gift is given for past favors, or if the giver is expecting to receive a favor or better treatment in the future.
Ombudsman Turns to Honasan
The Sandiganbayan earlier issued the Senator a warrant of arrest over the alleged misuse of his P29.1-million Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel in 2012. This follows the Office of the Ombudsman’s filing of the case against the senator and his co-accused on August 1. Honasan may post bail once arrested. At this time of writing, he already surrendered to the PNP.
Honasan is Innocent
Honasan denies the allegations. He said that he is “completely innocent of the charges” against him. “All my life I have fought everything I am accused of, and I will continue to do so,” he declared. Honasan faces two counts of graft for violating Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act. This is for “giving any private party any unwarranted benefits, advantage or preference in the discharge of his official administrative or judicial functions through manifest partiality, evident bad faith or gross inexcusable negligence.”
It is not hard to guess where the government is going nowadays. Political analysts, anti-administration people talk about it. Sad to say, most loyalists of politicians cannot see it. They are more into attacking the enemies of their idols. Luckily, the country now has a strategic president. National security comes first for Du30 and senators chose a chairman for the intelligence and confidential funds committee who is a true nation builder, the pro-Marcos Senator Gringo Honasan. What does this tell Filipinos?

Senators on approved a resolution to create a new congressional oversight panel to keep on track disbursements of millions of pesos in intelligence and confidential funds for various agencies. The Senate named six of its members to for the panel to be chaired by Sen. Gregorio B. Honasan II. Senators Panfilo M. Lacson Sr., Richard J. Gordon, Emmanuel D. Pacquiao, Paolo Benigno A. Aquino IV and Francis N. Pangilinan are the members.
Intelligence Information Needed
Honasan sponsors the measure. He explained that “in light of the recent threats to our country’s national security, that includes disturbance to peace and order by lawless elements, the importance of intelligence information by concerned government agencies cannot be ignored”.
The new Select Oversight Committee on Intelligence and Confidential Funds in the 17th Congress would “allow the Senate to continue exercising its functions over the use, disbursement, and expenditures of confidential and intelligence funds to government agencies. It provides a vigilant legislative oversight over the conduct of these activities”.
There’s no point changing the manner of speaking of the president, Honasan said. What’s important is his genuine intention to lead the Philippines to progress. If so, there should be a good reason why he wants a Marcos back into the executive office. This is in the person of Bongbong Marcos. If the Philippine leader thinks that this is good for the country, pro and anti-Du30-Marcos must give it a chance. After all, he’s elected by over 16 million people.

At the present time, the Philippines has been noted as Asia’s fastest growing economy with quite a number of Filipinos who made it in Forbes’ top billionaires list – and in US dollars at that!
As a Filipino who has been involved in social, medical and charity services to the community, it is very painful to see children begging for food along the highways, families who won’t know where to take their sick or dead member, below safety standard dwellings and unsanitary or ill people loitering the streets in the capital.
However, I quite understand that people in the rich sector, can’t hardly feel this – because they do not have the luxury of time to even look at their surroundings. Many Filipinos who are living a comfortable life after tasting poverty, will try so hard to stay there – and will just close their eyes to the plight of others.
Vice President Jejomar Binay’s presidential platform is the answer to the many problems in the country with eradicating poverty as the main priority through quality public services in the health, medical, educational, economical (jobs),social (senior citizens and the disabled care programs), transportation and infrastructure departments – thus eliminating crimes and achieving realistic progress.

We already know by now that Senator Gringo Honasan is a man of few words – but very prinipled at that! Selflessness is evident in the different stages of his life with an utmost goal of serving his country. This humble soldier now senator would indeed do everything that he can – to make Philippines a better place to be.
Judging from his political developments, he is not always running to win. In fact, he probably never aspired for the country’s second highest position if not for V.P. Binay. It is obvious that he strategically places himself in an aspect that would benefit his favored candidate or party for the good of the people. Could it be that Senator Gringo this time is running as Vice President not to win – but for endorsing Bongbong Marcos?
Both Senator Gringo and V.P. Binay were involved in the EDSA revolution that toppled the late President Ferdinand Marcos. Why are they endorsing the younger Marcos then? Senator Gringo was quoted as saying: Why burden the son for the sins of the father?
Whatever the case may be, Senator Bongbong Marcos, Vice President Jejomar Binay and Senator Gringo Honasan are obviously joining forces to weaken the current administration’s LP party.
