Lito Atienza Answers VP Robredo’s Foreign Debt Trap Fear with the Marcos Gold

debt

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Lito Atienza might be the senior deputy minority leader of the of the house representing the opposition but he educates Vice President Leni Robredo. The government can’t get into a situation wherein it incurs too much external debt that suddenly becomes difficult or impossible to repay, Atienza explains on the P8-trillion economic infrastructure spending. It answers VP Robredo’a warning that the Philippines might fall into a debt trap if the government borrows money indiscriminately, especially from China.

Lecture on Economics

“We have no problem with borrowing money. Regardless of whether it is from Japan, China or South Korea. As long as the government spends the funds on sensible and beneficial projects,” Atienza said.

“If we are talking of infrastructures such as trains, expressways, and bridges—these will all help to provide new employment. They enable goods and people to move faster at a lower cost. Then they further stimulate overall economic growth,” Atienza said.

Government Trust

Atienza’s trust to the current administration is unlike other opposition lawmakers. He said growth, in turn, would translate to a larger economic asset from which government is bound to collect incremental tax income.

“Surely the administration will not obtain a project loan from a foreign government at a higher interest rate. This is if the same credit can be procured elsewhere at a lesser rate,” Atienza said.

The Marcos Gold

Atienza attests that he has personal knowledge of the Marcos gold when he was still a mayor. He also points out GMA’s interview with Congresswoman Imelda Marcos that shows all the gold shipment documents in one room. He said that the widow of the late President Ferdinand Marcos is the witness that the former President was already a gold collector since he was still single.

Not Stolen

Atienza urges the government to look into the issue as soon as possible. He agrees with Congresswoman Marcos that the wealth can neutralize foreign debts for the welfare of the people or the world in general. Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque’s presence in the Press Conference signifies that the President pushes for Congress to facilitate the gold retrieval following the legal process. Can Robredo and other anti-Marcos opposition leaders swallow that? She can only give Bongbong Marcos further hard time on the VP manual recount. The truth always prevails.

Du30 Capitalizes on Good Relationship with China to Resolve Missile Issue against the US

China

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Presidential spokesperson, Atty. Harry Roque clarifies that Malacanang does not play the blame game against the previous Aquino administration for creating a tension with China. It is a fact that the infrastructure of the current militarization of the Chinese in the South China Sea happens during its time despite their filing a formal protest at the Hague. The American media’s report on the current missile deployment in the area is purely for the US and not for its neighbors, Philippine President Rodrigo Du30 said.

Missiles are Not Intended for China’s Neighbors

[VIDEO]: News Alert – China Military Buildup To Confront U.S. In The South China Sea, Not Its Neighbor

Du30 walks security tightrope between Beijing and Washington. The U.S. Intelligence Community’s report tags the Filipino leader a threat to democracy in Southeast Asia which supports his detractors. The report by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence places him alongside Cambodian’s Hun Sen, the Rohingya crisis and Thailand’s military-backed constitution as threats to democracy. Roque rejects its assessment. In fact, the popular leader is the country’s democratic holder since he won the 2016 election in a landslide despite the opposition’s digital anomalies. The US should know that the country’s constitution does not allow any act of dictatorship.

The Tribunal’s Hague Ruling

An arbitral tribunal ruling that clarifies the legal rights of the Philippines over the West Philippine Sea came out in July 2016. Duterte already sits as President. The opposition said that it is never too late to invoke the arbitral tribunal ruling. They call it a “fundamental basis for our legal and moral claim over those waters.” However, the President’s strategy is through peaceful, diplomatic talks which place the country in a safer position.

Du30’s Detractor’s Dictate

President Du30 should stop blaming others for China’s continuing militarization of its artificial islands in the disputed waters, a former solicitor general said. Lawyer Florin Hilbay was the solicitor general during the time of President Benigno Aquino III. He insists that the government should file a formal protest against its installation of military equipment in the disputed seas. This shows that the opposition never learned from their past mistake.

Capitalizing on Good Relationship with China

Most Filipinos do not worry about China’s militarization in the South China Sea anymore. Both countries already have a bilateral agreement when it comes to working together for the progress of ASEAN, generally speaking. Besides, it’s only the US media and their local counterparts who are creating negative vibes. Westerners still have a lot to learn when it comes to the Asian culture.

Bongbong Marcos: ICC Must NOT Judge Us because We do not Judge Them

ICC

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

acting workshop

Bongbong Marcos reacts an hour after the news breaks that President Rodrigo Du30 withdraws the country’s membership from the ICC. The former Senator said that it is just right for the Filipino leader to defend the dignity of Filipinos after the international body’s unlogical criticisms and dictates to the President without full knowledge of the situations. The ICC must treat the Philippines as a mature sovereign nation, Marcos said. They should not judge us because we do not judge them, he added.

[VIDEO]: Bongbong Marcos agrees with the President’s withdrawal from the ICC because we are a mature sovereign nation and must be treated as such.

Avalanche of Withdrawals

The President’s spokesman, Atty. Harry Roque believes the Philippines’ withdrawal from the International Criminal Court is “the beginning of the end” for the court, as it will start an avalanche of withdrawal of other countries. The ICC violated its “complementarity” rule when it began its initial examination into the complaint against President Rodrigo Du30 in relation to the administration’s war on drugs.

Out of ICC’s Jurisdiction

Roque, who specializes in international law, stresses that the ICC, under its complementarity principle, can only exercise jurisdiction when domestic courts are unwilling or unable to do their work. This is not the case in the Philippines. The spokesman said he already brought the issue up before the ICC several times but he was ignored.

Major Powers are NOT Members

Roque points out that major powers such as the United States, Russia, and China are not even members. He is a former co-chairperson of the Philippine Coalition for the International Criminal Court. He was grateful to President Benigno Aquino III for the Philippines’ membership in 2011 but understands Du30’s point now. President Du30 decides to withdraw the Philippines’ ratification of a United Nations treaty that created the body. By withdrawing, the Philippines expects that it no longer has jurisdiction over the nation.

Anti and Pro-Administration

Marcos who is a staunch ally of the President hails his pulling out from the ICC. However, Senator Leila De Lima calls Du30 a coward for doing so. The people can very well see the kind of leaders and politicians from this incident.

Bongbong Marcos in Binondo: The Next Vice President of the Philippines

Vice President

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

acting workshop

Rumors of government destabilization loom as the Vice Presidential electoral protest recount nears. However, in reality, the networks behind the anti-administration stunts cannot overpower their opposition that is presently in authority. Therefore, logical minds have the guts to express their true sentiments and support. This is evident in Bonondo during the Chinese New Year celebration. The emcee calls on Bongbong Marcos as the next Vice President of the Philippines.

New Vice President in Baguio

Bongbong and Gov. Imee Marcos’ were earlier in the Baguio Flower Festival where their popularity surges as Gov. Imee introduces her brother as the Vice President of the Philippines. Some can’t help but raise their eyebrows but again, the Marcoses are in alliance with the current President. No one can stop them from making their stand public.

Side by Side with the Government

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos is on tour nowadays. She is also hot in social media interviews. Pro-administration bloggers back her up. No doubt, she’s preparing for the Senatorial race in 2019. It is not surprising if she runs under the President’s party because of the obvious alliance between them. A press conference even features her side by side with Presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque while they address current national issues. The Marcoses and Du30 are definitely not taking their detractors sitting down.

The Supreme Court Justice’s Plight

Another indication that the pro-administration players are stronger than their enemies is evident in the Supreme Court. All the 13 magistrates are united in asking their Chief Justice Maria Lourdes-Sereno to take an indefinite leave of absence while facing the impeachment trial.

Confidence Behind the Binondo Stunt

Bongbong Marcos explains in his 5th series video that the Chinese community was first recognized during the time of his father. Their undeniable contribution to the economy is never overlooked. This is the reason why the Marcoses still have many supporters from the Filipino-Chinese faction, particularly in Binondo.

Gov. Imee Marcos & Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque on National Issues and Popularity

popularity

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

acting workshop

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos seems to be touring these days. That gives a hint to the press people that she is indeed preparing for the Senatorial race in 2019. She does not dispute that either. It is likely that she will run under the President’s umbrella because of the obvious alliance between them. The latest indication is the recent press conference where she and Presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque answers questions about the current national issues. The Marcoses and the Filipino leader’s popularity remain despite the black media propaganda against them.

Roque Defended the President

Sensitive issues like the Dengvaxia case that hunts the previous administration are thrown at the Presidential spokesperson Roque. He constantly denies ill intention against ex-President Noynoy Aquino. The President is not into jailing previous presidents that came before him. It’s not just his style, Roque added.

Comelec’s Move against ex-Pnoy

The Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) Law Department summons former President Benigno Aquino III and two of his former cabinet members over a complaint of election law violation. This has links to the controversial dengue vaccination program. Aquino, former Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, and former Health Secretary Janet Garin have to appear at a preliminary hearing on March 15. The three face a complaint filed by the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption for the implementation of the immunization program on April 4, 2016. This falls within the 45-day election ban on government projects ahead of the May 2016 elections.

Own Supporters Put ex-Pnoy into Trouble

Roque explains the President’s stand on the Comelec’s complaint against ex-Pnoy and others. What can Du30 do if it is ex-Pnoy’s own supporters who can see such problem in the Dengvaxia case? He has to allow the rule of law to run smoothly and fairly, he said.

The Popularity of the Marcoses Never Dies

Mayor Mauricio Domogan tags the appearance of the Marcos siblings during the weekend Panagbenga parades as unfortunate after critics loomed over social media. It turns out that Bongbong and Gov. Imee Marcos were not formally invited. They asked permission to participate even if they do not have to since all Filipinos can join any festivals. However, they were allowed to join with officials of the city and the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Incorporated. They also engaged the crowd on the parade route. They spoke to the crowd at the Athletic Bowl. Imee introduces Bongbong as the vice president of the Philippines. Perhaps the mayor did not expect that the popular siblings can overpower the crowd.
