Supreme Court: CAMSUR VP Recount may have Voided Results due to Wet Ballots

Supreme Court

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

The Supreme Court or the PET orders the Camarines Sur municipal treasurers to explain why some ballot boxes are wet. In the town of Ragay, one of its precincts sent its election result a day in advance. On top of the invalid 25 threshold votes, these anomalies can lead to voided VP recount results from CAMSUR according to Atty. Glenn Chong. Meanwhile, the retrieval of the 2,740 ballot boxes from Iloilo now starts.

Analysis of the Supreme Court Action

Clean election advocate, Atty. Glenn Chong suggests that CAMSUR must have voided results because of the tampered votes. This is the first time that the PET confirms that there are indeed wet and dirty ballot boxes. The decrypted ballot images can’t also be the alternative materials because of the incidents of digital tampering. The Senate is due to investigate this as soon, according to Senator Tito Sotto. So, even if the PET resorts to these images, the process can be contested by Bongbong Marcos.

Partial PET Order

The notice of the PET contains incident reports from April 2 until April 17 about the wet and dirty ballots. That means, it is still partial. The issues from April 18 until at present are not yet included. These would be the results from Buhi, Canaman, Milaor, Sipocot, and others.

Evidence of Tampered Ballot Boxes

One out of 3 ballot boxes in Camarines Sur does not have voters’ receipts. There are massive cases of missing Election Returns and Minutes of Voting. These can only mean that these ballot boxes were already opened prior to the recount at the Supreme Court.

Bracing Up on Iloilo for the VP Declaration

The retrieval of the 2,740 ballot boxes from Iloilo now starts. The PET already authorizes the retrieval team to perform their duties following the given guidelines. Clear rules on missing items shall apply to avoid confusion that misleading media reports can bring. Everyone must brace up on the Iloilo results next for the future declaration of the real Vice President. Experts can sense that VP Robredo’s time in the second highest office in the land is running out.

Bongbong Marcos Nails 3 Provinces, Catches Robredo Off Guard in Election Protest

election

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Bongbong Marcos’ revelation on the three provinces for the pilot manual recount and judicial revision of ballots in connection with his election protest against Vice President Leni Robredo, catches her off guard. Lawyer, Romulo Macalintal was beleaguered because they were expecting Lanao del Sur, Basilan, and Maguindanao.

3 Initial Provinces for the Recount

In his 81-page preliminary conference brief, the Marcos camp identified Camarines Sur, Iloilo and Negros Oriental for the recount or revision. Marcos spokesperson, Vic Rodriguez explains that they clearly show that there are major discrepancies in the votes cast on the ballots. These also include those transmitted by the Vote Counting Machines (VCMs) and reported in the Certificates of Canvass (COCs).

Camarines Sur Election Discrepancy

He also stresses that there are almost 65,000 undervotes in Camarines Sur. The three provinces have a total of 300,000 undervotes. Undervotes are ballots that are not counted. This is either because the voter did not vote for a certain position or there were unclear markings in the ballot.

Implausible Iloilo Votes

Whereas in Iloilo, Rodriguez points out that it is extremely implausible that Robredo gets 573,729 votes against Marcos’ 94,411 votes. He’s the running mate of the late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago who was from the said province. They were warmly received by the Hiligaynons during their sorties there.

Negros Oriental and Witnesses

Robredo’s 248,102 votes in Negros Oriental against Marcos’ 99,208 votes look dubious. The biggest political clan there is for Marcos. The Marcos camp has a total of 362 witnesses. This is in the preliminary conference brief for July 11. They are ready to testify with evidence to support their claim. What is Macalintal talking about that Marcos is allegedly fishing for evidence?
