Subscription Business of John Warrillow from the Value Builder System

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Innovabiz’s InnovaBuzz podcast of John Warrillow, who is the creator and president of The Value Builder System, author of Built to Sell and The Automatic Customer, talks to us about recurring revenue or subscription business models and how they can give certainty in both cash flow, inventory and staff management to any business. Listen to the podcast to get the details here: http://innovabiz.com.au/podcasts/episode-23-john-warrillow-of-the-value-builder-system/

The biggest benefit of running a subscription based business model is that it increases the value of your business. Another huge benefit of a subscription or recurring revenue model is that you have a steady cash flow, can plan for stock inventory and staffing levels. The most important thing to pay attention to in a subscription business model, is to minimize cancellations. Critical to minimizing cancellations is to teach people to get the best value out of the products or service you are offering – the on-boarding process is vital to get right, and that on-boarding window is in the first 60-90 days of the subscription. That’s the window where you can actually get the customers to change their behavior to adopt whatever it is you sell. To scale a business, it’s people need process, they need systems. It is important to find the right balance between documenting enough and not over complicating the business.Finding the balance between having enough and too many people is really difficult if you sell on a transactional model but if you sell in subscription, you know how many customers you have in 3 or 6 months from now, so you can staff accordingly.

Sell less to more people. Selling fewer things allows you to focus on getting it right with just a couple of things.

Despite the relative anonymity of the internet or web – people still buy from people, so relationships are as important as ever. You need to build a connection. If we focus every single day on serving – serving our customers, our community, giving our best, then success will follow. The magic pill, for John, to success is waking up every morning, getting inspired and taking action to go and serve your market that day and just doing it every single day for the rest of time. John’s advice to get more innovative in what you are doing, is firstly, get massively clear about what you want to achieve; then get clear about your key strengths and finally get clear about who you need on your team to help make your vision a reality.

They really need to get crystal clear on what their actual vision is first

Networking Tips from Judy Robinett, Author and Power Networker

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
InnovaBuzz podcast by Innovabiz features Judy Robinett, author of “How to be a Power Connector” and a Power Networker herself is giving out some great tips on networking. She is the “woman with the titanium digital Rolodex” and has been profiled in Forbes, Huffington Post, Bloomberg, Business Week just to name a few. Don’t miss out on this interview by clicking here: http://innovabiz.com.au/podcasts/episode-18-judy-robinett-author-and-power-networker/

Judy has vast experience in the entrepreneurial work world. She’s been CEO of several companies. She’s an expert in getting financing for startup ventures and other venture capital and of course she’s a power networker.
To grow your network you need to take risks and embrace fear – everybody needs help and if you discover how you can create value for someone, then you have created a new business opportunity. If you build twenty-five to fifty quality relationships you can make anything happen. The 2 golden questions to ask when meeting people are: what other ideas do you have for me? – and who else do you know I should talk to? Just get post-it notes, do mind maps and get down who you already have. Meet with some of those people, share where you’re at, where you’re going and ask what other ideas do you have for me, who else do you know I should talk to and just watch the magic happen. Most of the networking events everyone goes to are a waste of time – the wrong “room”. Strategic networking requires you to determine where the people you need, who you can help or can help you, spend their time. One of the most powerful ways to create immediate value for someone, is to make an introduction to another person. That’s the currency of this whole new relationship era.

Get out of the box, read widely and diversely.

Glass to Solar – Victor Rosenberg of Tropiglas Technologies

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
There’s so much to learn from Victor Rosenberg of Tropiglas Technologies, in this episode of InnovaBuzz from Innovabiz. He explains how his quest for wanting to be a part in making a better world led him into a business opportunity producing the the most advanced glazing in the world. His company is turning one of the world’s most common building materials, glass, into an energy source, as a solar collector, as well as giving that glass the ability to do other “intelligent” things. Listen to the interview from this link: http://innovabiz.com.au/podcasts/episode-17-victor-rosenberg-of-tropiglas-technologies/

It is good to ask for help when trying to get a new, ground-breaking idea from inception to reality – you often can’t do it on your own, as an individual. Going out to where your potential partners are e.g. Trade Shows; and publishing in quality journals is a great way to get interest in a new invention. Victor’s philosophy is that – we all need to become part of the energy supply side, to help with the problem of energy consumption, particularly producing energy on the site where it is consumed. Victor’s strong belief in his idea, his market research and development of prototype to demonstrate the concept have led to where Tropiglas is today, and the high level of interest from big investors.

Having a mindset to recognize future trends, needs and opportunities and be inquisitive.

Multi Cultural Experience led Kara Ronin into doing Executive Impressions online

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Multi cultural experience can lead to a successful online business as featured in the InnovaBuzz podcast of Innovabiz – where Kara Ronin of Executive Impressions shared with us her experience working and living in different countries and cultures and her insights into building an online business based on that experience. It’s another inspiring interview so, find out more here: http://innovabiz.com.au/podcasts/episode-32-kara-ronin-of-executive-impressions/

Kara started writing a lot of articles for her blog, people started sharing those, then she had more and more website visitors that lead to more business. Thereby stressing the importance of publishing information regularly on your blog!
Using the internet, Kara was able to reach a global audience with the information she has, that is of value to people everywhere. By using the internet, Kara achieved leverage and the freedom to work from anywhere. Don’t keep your knowledge to yourself, for fear of losing your competitive edge. If nobody knows about it, it’s not much use. Publish what you know in articles, videos, podcasts etc. People become interested in what you do, share your information and connect with you.
Kara does a lot of testing of opt-in offers, and sign up incentives. She emphasizes how important it is to engage with your audience and find out what they really want and how you are able to help them. The biggest risk in business is that people avoid risk and stay in their comfort zone. Fear stops people from taking the step that could move their business from just functioning to something that is amazingly successful. It’s more than a business issue – it’s a mindset issue.

Having a good combination of social and technical skill is really the difference between just a good business person and a great one.
