The sources from the Supreme Court or PET said that Bongbong Marcos’ electoral protest recount in the three pilot provinces is almost done. While the recount resumes on January 28 for the wet and damaged ballots. Insiders said that the suspension was only on certain precincts. This is in reference to the deliberations of the SC en banc recently. z

Temporary Suspension by the Supreme Court

The PET suspends the recount for damaged ballots around a month after Marcos asks the Supreme Court to urgently order the technical examination of some voting records. These are from Basilan, Lanao del Sur, and Maguindanao. These are the votes which Marcos wants the PET to nullify due to alleged widespread cheating.

The SC Orders the Revisors

The Supreme Court sits as the PET electoral to decide the protests of presidential and vice presidential candidates. Currently, the justices agree that they need to suspend the revision in precinct 8 of Tanjay City, and Negros Oriental due to wet ballots. They direct the head revisor to use decrypted ballot images instead. Revision in clustered precinct 42 in Barangay Sabang, Valencia was also suspended. This is because “no election return is in the ballot box.” “The revision is to proceed as to all other contested precincts,” the source added.

The PET to Rule on Nationwide Recount

The recount of ballots from Marcos’ identified three pilot provinces, Camarines Sur, Iloilo, and Negros Oriental, starts last April 1, 2018. After the recount in the said provinces, the tribunal proceeds on ruling on all objections and claims of both parties during the revision proceeding. The results of the recount in the three provinces would determine if the tribunal should continue checking ballots in the rest of the clustered precincts in nationwide.

Possible Dismissal of the Protest and Counter Protest

If upon examination of such ballots and proof, and after making reasonable allowances, the proceedings can stop. Under the Rule 65 of the 2010 Rules of the PET, the protestant or counter-protestant can lose their case. This is if the tribunal is convinced that after all circumstances are taken into account.

Formal Announcement to Follow Soon

The PET has not released any results of the revision. SC Spokesperson Jose Midas Marquez said the PET will issue a statement to clarify the report on the alleged suspension of the recount. The Supreme Court’s clarification is crucial after the conflicting insinuations from the camps of Marcos and the presumptive Vice President Leni Robredo.

Bongbong Marcos Celebrates Manny Pacquiao’s Victory as he Stays Healthy for the Election Campaigns

By: Elena Grace Flores

Bongbong Marcos explains that health must be the priority on a daily basis and not just a mere New Year’s resolution. He cites Manny Pacquiao’s victory as an example of never-fading healthcare through exercises on a separate post. This is after receiving compliments from people saying that he looks younger than his age. He jokingly said that he carefully chooses his parents to remain youthful. Marcos insinuates that following his father’s advice, he stays healthy to be fit in facilitating election campaigns and in fulfilling his destiny to lead in the near future. z

[VIDEO]: 5 BBM Tips for a Healthy Life

Celebrating Manny Pacquiao’s Victory

Marcos said that he is happy to shout the name of Manny Pacquiao because of his recent win. WBA welterweight champion, Pacquiao delivers a dominant performance to earn a unanimous decision victory over Adrien Broner in Las Vegas recently. The 40-year-old Filipino multiple world champion was quicker and more accurate. He controlled each round and cruised to the triumph over Broner, 29, who fought gamely and stayed upright despite being hit with several heavy combinations. Retired great Floyd Mayweather attended the fight. It fuels speculation of a rematch against Pacquiao. Undefeated Mayweather beat Pacquiao in 2015.

Pacquiao’s Call to Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather ignores Pacquiao’s call for a rematch after watching the Filipino coast to victory over Adrien Broner. Mayweather is linked with another nine-figure payday against Pacquiao. The latter rebounds after his defeat to Jeff Horn, dispatching Lucas Matthysse and Broner with relative ease. Pacquiao immediately delivers a message to Mayweather after the judges the unanimous points victory. “Tell him to come back to the ring and then we can fight,” he said.

Continuous Healthy Training

Just like Pacquiao, BBM, as he is fondly called, makes sure that he hits the gym at least 4 to 5 times a week. It stays in his memory what his late father said about exercise. It is vital for not just the body but also the mind to function properly especially when working for the welfare of the Filipino people. That is the secret of Marcos’ youthful and healthy look.

Shield Against High Blood Pressure

The VP Protestant also mentions that having close ties with family members can alleviate or prevent high blood pressure. He admits that his son, Sandro, and nephew Borgy had the time of their life when he was under their makeover scheme. He swears that when his eldest son is back from England, he would surely organize a healthy makeover for him too.

Election Campaigns for 2019 and 2022?

There is no sign at all that Marcos worries about the electoral protest against the presumptive VP, Leni Robredo. There may be some truth about what the President said that Robredo will finish her term as Vice President. That being said, the former senator is very visible nowadays. He swears to do strenuous election campaigns perhaps for his sister, Imee Marcos who is running for Senator in 2019. This would make him very visible towards the possible 2022 presidential poll. Why not? He’s definitely someone that many people look up to as the possible new leader of the country after Du30.

A Wealth of Information: Imee Marcos’ Cebu Tarp Removal During Sinulog Not Personal?

wealth
By: Elena Grace Flores

The Fiesta Señor is a weeklong celebration that venerates the child Jesus in the image of the Santo Niño. This culminates in the Sinulog Festival taking place this Sunday where’s there’s a wealth of performances. Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña orders the removal of an oversized tarpaulin of the senatorial candidate and Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos from a street corner. He said that it’s not personal because Cebuanos hate to politicize the sacred event. The governor then responds thanking the mayor for the reminder and that she would request her supporters to immediately remove it. z

Not About Politics?

Credit where credit is due. This is not about politics, this is only about the Sinulog and how sacred it is to the Cebuanos, Osmeña explains. “Nothing personal. My own brother is running for Senator and I didn’t invite him to come,” he added. Osmeña is the brother of senatorial candidate Sergio Osmeña III. Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma earlier asks that the Church “stay away from politics” in light of the upcoming 2019 midterm elections.

Speaking for all Cebuanos?

“The Cebuanos do not appreciate the politicization of the Sinulog. This won’t be earning you any votes and is doing you more harm than good,” the Cebu City mayor said. Perhaps in this instance, the mayor cannot speak for all Cebuanos. In fact, the governor’s Cebuano supporters are responsible for the tarpaulin display. Although she takes responsibility with the acts done by her local team. This says a lot about her character.

Sinulog 2011 Flashback with Bongbong Marcos

Then Senator Bongbong Marcos was one of the thousands–if not millions–of devotees and participants who joined the Sinulog Festival in Cebu on 16 January 2011. Senator Bongbong was prepared to be drenched willingly by the heavy downpour that “blessed” the 5-kilometer walk, were it not for the timely cessation of the rains, which had already by then soaked the early birds among the wholesome mob of devotees, including the Cebu City Mayor at that time, Michael Rama while Gwen Garcia was governor who believes that Marcos was cheated during the 2016 elections.

Rama’s Electoral Protest Coincides with Marcos

Supported by 42 barangay captains, Rama filed the protest against Osmeña on May 20 last year. Osmeña defeated Rama in the mayoralty race in the May 2016 polls. Rama got 233,186 votes while Osmeña got 267,222 votes. Rama said the results are “statistically highly improbable.” We are all victim of what really occurred with the Liberal Party and of course with my local opponent group (Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan),” he alleged. The evidence gathered on his protest actually coincides with the VP Protestant, Marcos against the presumptive VP, Leni Robredo.

Gracious Act is True Wealth

Gov. Marcos’ reaction cannot really draw negative criticisms from the opposition’s media. In fact, she is admired for being cool and appreciative of Osmeña’s efforts in reminding her through Twitter as escalated by the mainstream press outlets. She would surely get more votes contrary to the Cebu Mayor’s prediction. His brother did well in 2010. Marcos was elected as Senator of the Philippines under the Nacionalista Party just few months before his Sinulog 2011 appearance. The Marcoses’ loyslists in Cebu are massive that BBM has to grace the event to thank them for their support.

Is Facebook Against Democracy for Pleasing Robredo’s Kind?

democracy
By: Elena Grace Flores

The presumptive Vice President Leni Robredo accused of cheating in the 2016 elections by former Senator Bongbong Marcos is happy about the ban of Facebook on a local company behind the pro-President Rodrigo Du30’s posts. “This is huge, like a gift to the people,” Robredo said in her weekly radio program. However, owners of such accounts who are legitimate supporters of the current administration hate Robredo and her kind more. This goes the same to the Marcos supporters. Is Facebook killing democracy in the country? They asked. It is a now a common occurence that these accounts are either taken out or blocked from posting links or articles. z

[VIDEO]: IKINATUWA NI VICE PRESIDENT LENI ROBREDO ANG UMANO’Y PAG-BAN SA MGA PRO-DUTERTE FACEBOOK ACCOUNTS. ALAMIN ANG BUONG DETALYE.

Hypocrisy Looms

“It’s not for me, but for the whole Philippines that it’s OK to criticize, as long as the basis of criticism is true,” Robredo said. She cites two Facebook pages ran by Twinmark Media Enterprises Inc. – Filipino Channel Online and Trending News Portal – as having “run fake news against opposition figures,” with her as the “number one” target. This is a big puzzle to Filipinos because of this questionable VP’s supporters are also doing the same thing. In fact, she is popular as the ultimate source of Fake News against the Du30 administration. She is also critical about the Marcoses using unfounded lies.

Selective Democracy

Not enough, she said that Facebook should continue such actions, claiming that thousands of fake troll accounts still exist including the ones from her group. She often blasts the government as an entity that does not allow words of decent. That every time she’s ignored, it is already her common expression that democracy dies. Is democracy dead then again?

Not a Big Deal for the Administration

Malacañang earlier shrugs off Facebook’s decision to remove some pro-Duterte pages for violating its policies. There are other platforms that supporters can use to show their appreciation for the administration. Presidential Spokesperson and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo made the statement before and its stand so far does not change.

A Democratic Government

The reaction of President Du30’s speaker is very democratic. “Facebook must have its own rules and regulations. If they are implementing them, that is their own rule,” Panelo said.

Social Media Dominance

It is known that Maria Ressa meets with Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg to complain about the subject. As a result, the opposition gets the advantage from the platform from then on. This prompted the affected ones to innovate systems where they can express their sentiments democracy-wise. As talented as Filipinos can be, it’s only a matter of time that Facebook’s dominance in the Philippines becomes vulnerable.

What Does Sandro Marcos Worry About Other Than his Father’s Electoral Protest?

protest
By: Elena Grace Flores

Sandro Marcos, the eldest son of Bongbong Marcos seems like not worrying at all about the result of his father’s electoral protest. In fact, he wishes that his dad’s fashion sense would be dated. However, the latter insists that his wardrobe choice is classic. The son’s New Year resolution for their patriarch coincides with their reaction to the delay on the case against Vice President Leni Robredo. Here’s why. z

[VIDEO]: BBM VLOG #43: New year . . . new look?! | Bongbong Marcos

BBM Sticks on Familiar Grounds

If there’s one thing this makeover has taught me, it’s that sometimes we’re better off sticking to what we know!, Bongbong Marcos said. A” for effort though to Sandro, Simon and Borgy!, he added. However, despite the sound suggestions of a credible fashion consultant, his choices remain. Just like in the protest versus Robredo. Marcos refused to ruin his New Year with negativity. He stays confident that his time to lead the country would come.

Sandro’s New Year Resolution for his Dad

Sandro describes his desire for his father’s wardrobe for 2019 as dated. He said that BBM obviously looks like an Ilocano who never spends for his clothes. Ilocanos are noted to be stingy. His father retaliates by saying that his son is right. He is spending more for Sandro’s wardrobe that he describes as English.

Borgy Manotoc’s Expertise

Borgy Manotoc, son of BBM’s sister, Imee is a famous fashion model and entrepreneur. He acts as Marcos’ fashion consultant. He suggests different kinds of attire for him to try on. Then he and Sandro rate the selected outfit each while the VP Protestee models them.

Learning from the Millennials

Marcos adheres to his son’s wish by complying to the wardrobe try out with Manotoc. He is open to change and quite patient about it. Despite his family’s bad experiences, he is seldom seen furious about something. Positivity aligns him to his goal. This is something that social media users must do. Expressing ill feelings about the electoral protest can only do more harm than good because it triggers disunity.

Experience Counts in the Electoral Protest

There’s only one reason why BBM is so patient about the electoral protest contrary to the negative reactions of his loyalists. He knows that his time will come to lead the country. Despite the rumors about the President’s shortcomings, he trusts that he is doing all he can to allow fairness in the upcoming Supreme Court ruling.
