Liberal Media Points Out: Wrong Perception on Drug War Killings is Triggered by Misleading Captions

Liberal

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

The President defends his bloody war on drugs. He tells Southeast Asian lawyers that he is “demonized” by it. Du30 denies allegations of state-sponsored killings of both drug dealers and users. Meanwhile, a Liberal media also justifies the publication of its peer. This is the misconception on the popularized Pietà – like visual. The caption of this image somewhat says;  “Jennelyn Olaires weeps as she hugs partner Michael Siaron. He is 30, a pedicab driver. Siaron was killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen. This was near Pasay Rotonda on Edsa.” His death is one of the six drug war deaths in the area on that day. It certainly did not blame the PNP. However, due to the mention of the drug war or drug-related incidents, it created a notion that the administration is behind it.

[VIDEO]: BEWARE THIS IS BLACK MEDIA PROPAGANDA – The Kill List: The Brutal Drug War in the Philippines

Actual Liberal Caption

What can one think that amidst the drug war, news headlines and captions are added with misleading phrases like the line highlighted below?

Church: “Thou Shall Not Kill”

BANNER PHOTO. The caption of this Inquirer photo on July 24, 2016, is as follows: ‘A weeping Jennelyn Olaires hugs partner Michael Siaron, 30, a pedicab driver an alleged drug pusher, who was shot and killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen near Pasay Rotonda on Edsa. He was one of six killed in drug-related incidents in Pasay and Manila yesterday.’ Screenshot from www.inquirer.net

This is a clearly confusing but the media involved blames the Pro-administration journalist and officials instead for defending the President from the misunderstanding.

Human Rights Criticisms

The Du30 administration’s human rights record is strongly criticized by Western countries. It is one of the issues US President Donald Trump plans to raise on a visit to Manila next month to attend perhaps the ASEAN summit. The President tells the ASEAN Law Association that while some things against him were true, he did not order extrajudicial killings of drug suspects as his critics insinuate.

The President’s Statement

President Du30 said;

“I know that I have been demonized. And well, of course, I will assure you upon my oath as a lawyer and before God that some are true, some are not. And the extrajudicial tag that has been placed on me is simply not true.”

The above statement is actually factual given the reactions of the Human Rights bodies here and abroad. Not to mention the international community’s condemnation of the President’s alleged drug war actions.

What the President Really Said

Du30, however, clarifies that he warned drug peddlers that he would kill them if they destroyed the country. This includes the youth that he was duty-bound to protect as President. If doubts if anyone could fault him for making that statement. Recently, he also discloses that there seems like a twist in teenager killings. That has something to do with drug couriers but the PNP has yet to complete their investigation.

Media Propaganda Affects People but Love Remains for Marcos and Du30

propaganda

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Thee love of the majority of Filipinos for President Rodrigo Du30 remains just like with the Marcoses. This is despite the decline in his net satisfaction and trust ratings, according to Palace spokesman Ernesto Abella. Bongbong Marcos earlier expresses his disagreement to control social media. He explained that it can actually neutralize biased mainstream media reports. The Marcoses has suffered more than 30 years of misinformation after his father, the late Ferdinand Marcos stepped down in 1986. Media propaganda causes his popularity to decline. Just like what Du30’s detractors are hoping for.

Youtube video by; CBC News

[VIDEO]: CBC news Senior Correspondent Adrienne Arsenault reports from Manila about the horrors of President Rodrigo Du30’s war on drugs. She also speaks to jailed Philippine Senator Leila de Lima who is a vocal critic of the country’s strongman president. (An example of black media propaganda).

Ratings Dropped

Abella explains that the drop in the President’s net satisfaction ratings was expected since the “honeymoon period” for the administration has now ended. “The change in the President’s satisfaction rating, from 78 percent in June to 67 percent in September, and trust rating, from 82 percent in June to 73 percent in September, is normal given the fact that people start measuring their expectations usually after the honeymoon period, or after a year in office,” Abella said this through a press briefing in Malacañang.

Public Trust is Good

In spite of this, however, Abella believed that public satisfaction remains “good” and public trust remains “very good”. Social Weather Stations (SWS) conducted the non-commissioned survey from September 23 to 27. Those were days after the nationwide rally held on September 21 – the National Day of Protests.  The Liberal Party-inspired groups protested the alleged street killings and alleged human rights violations in Luneta. They blamed the administration’s drug war for all the killings. These include crimes of passion, feud among illegal drug criminals, and personal rifts or grudges. However, the pro-administration supporters were bigger in number. They rallied to show their support to the President in a bigger historical vicinity at Plaza Miranda.

Survey Period

“It is worth noting that surveys are snapshots of the public mood at a given time and the SWS survey was conducted between September 23-27, just 2 days after the National Day of Protest – the bold initiative of the President allowed citizens to freely vent their grievances about the excesses and shortcomings of the government. Some sentiments may have spilled over,” Abella added. The LP cannot accuse his administration anymore of suppressed freedom of speech. The leader did learn from Marcos’ plight.

Love Begets Love

Nevertheless, “the love is still there,” Abella added.   The Palace official assured the public that the government would “continue to work harder to address the public’s urgent needs in order to bring a comfortable life for all.”   “We enjoin everyone to set aside self-interest and together build a nation worthy of the next generation,” Abella said. Biased media often interview only the sides that support their interests. In the video, Senator Leila de Lima, of course, did not admit that her own lover and bodyguard has a signed affidavit of her involvement with the drug trade that put her in prison. Emotional family members of some fatalities are also featured to solicit condemnation geared towards the president even if they are isolated cases or victims of other social problems that are in existence since time immemorial like the communist insurgents’ kidnap for ransom activities.

Yellows Intensify to Oust the President as Recount Nears for Bongbong Marcos’ Protest

protest

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Bongbong Marcos earlier estimates that the recount for his electoral protest against VP Leni Robredo can start in November. The PET already ordered the initial recount of votes in Camarines Sur, Iloilo, and Negros Oriental first. Meanwhile, The “yellows” have intensified its campaign to oust the  President, said Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II.

[VIDEO]: Palace, confident the plot to oust President Duterte will not prosper.

Justice Secretary’s Announcement

The “yellows” have intensified its campaign to oust the President, said Aguirre II. “They, the yellows, are intensifying the actions against the President,” Aguirre stresses in his announcement to the media. He said the allegations against the President and his family are part of the opposition’s black propaganda.

Aguirre’s group

Aguirre continued that he created a group composed of lawyers and retired members of the military and police. “Unofficially, I have created a group. This, in my own little way I can help thwart the moves of the opposition to oust the President,” said Aguirre. He refused to give the name of his group but hopes that it will be launched soon.

LP’s Denial

The Liberal Party said in its response that the party along its allies has always adhered to its core values of integrity and people-centeredness. “These values compel us to speak up on issues such as the drug smuggling and corruption allegations against those close to the President. The murder of minors and innocents by instruments of the state, among others,” the LP added.

The Essence of the Initial Recount for the Protest

The priority recount aims to prove whether or not the rest of Marcos’ protest has merit. Bongbong Marcos said that it is about to start in November. It is expected to be completed in December this year. Can the LP be concerned that if the President is not ousted now prior to the recount, Bongbong Marcos is likely the next President of the Philippines?

Saycon’s Next Move After Gathering Evidences of Election Fraud

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Copa chair, Pastor Boy Saycon is planning to hold talks with the Iglesia ni Kristo who might be looking for their missing votes for Duterte and Marcos, Brother Eddie Villanueva of the Jesus Is Lord movement and Brother Mike Velarde of the El Shaddai first to let them know of massive cheating incidents that happened during the May 9, 2016 election.

However, INC members knew that their duty is just to vote for whoever are endorsed by the church as a sign of unity. It is not certain if their leader Eduardo Manalo would go further into protesting as to demand where their votes for Bongbong Marcos went.

Pastor Boy’s disclosure to the media with regards to the pre-shaded ballots, no election held and undervotes coincided with Basilan ex-Governor Gerry Salappudin’s accounts as experienced in his areas. So there is a possibility that this is mirrored in a larger scale in different areas. These are not mere coincidence anymore but a well-planned election fraud plots that were conspired among those who are in power, their candidates and their willing plus able contacts in the local areas mentioned.

Basilan’s witness of massive cheating vouched against Mar-Leni – and appealing to Duterte

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Former governor of Basilan, Gerry Salappudin bravely shout his heart out to express the frustrations of the people in his home town due to election cheating. He was certain that people in power are responsible for it.

Administration privileged people who are from the Liberal Party were seen filling up 90% of the ballots in favor of Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo tandem, a day prior to the election. Only 10% of the ballots were for the voters’ choice.

90,000 people from Akbar, Tuburan, Albarka, Sumisip and Maluso were robbed of their democratic right to vote freely. Fraudulent activities were also spotted in Isabela and Lamitan where votes are bought for Php700 up to Php2,000. Therefore, he is appealing to the presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte to look into the matter closely.
