Bongbong Marcos recently graces the welcome party for Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister. The emcee introduces him as the legitimate Vice President of the Philippines. Former President and now Mayor Erap hosts a fun and festive evening to cap the lightning visit of Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim to Manila who expresses his views on democracy. This is a clear indication of the future big change towards the new Marcos golden era. Marcos’ legitimacy in the presidential line of succession is now slowly introduced to the foreign alliance. Simply, it’s not whom one knows but it’s whom they are affiliated with that counts in today’s world.

The Presidential Message

Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim said that if he will have his own way, he would tell President Rodrigo Du30 to ensure vibrant democracy. Retain the respect for the rule of law, he said. This is if he should continue to reign in the country.

Malaysia’s Vice Premier’s Official Message

Deputy Prime Minister Ibrahim delivered his speech in Intramuros. Furthermore, the Pamantasang Lungsod ng Maynila bestowed him with the degree of law (honoris causa).

Reactions to the Country’s Current Events

Currently, there is an impending arrest of Senator Trillanes while Senator De Lima’s is still incarcerated. Du30’s critics seem to be punished. Consequently, when Anwar was asked about his views of these events in the Philippines, he responds, “My consistent view is that you cannot abuse power to victimize the opposition or dissidents. Specifically, I don’t know if the charge is due to what.”

Likely Next Leader

To quote Anwar, “If I am to meet President Du30, I would just say that I would support someone else’s measure; that I would certainly want to continue and ensure that vibrant democracy and respect for the rule of law in the Philippines. How? It’s for him and the Filipinos to decide.” Consequently, He is certain to be expressing his views if an abuse had been committed. Furthermore, The former Malaysian Deputy is also the most likely successor to Prime Minister Mahathir with the result of a party coalition agreement.

Democracy Beyond Friendship

Anwar is very much concerned about the Philippines. He has become friends with many Philippine leaders and civil society members. Furthermore, these friends have always been on his side supporting him while in jail. This all throughout his incarceration in his own country for many years. To quote him “In all those plights that I had when I was incarcerated, Filipino leaders and the civil society were there for me.”

Bongbong Marcos Hints on Winning his Battle with the Supreme Court as Symbolized by Manny Pacquiao

supreme court

By: Elena Grace Flores

Bongbong Marcos directly slams the camp of Vice President Leni Robredo for corrupting the Supreme Court or PET revisors. He would not have complained if he knew of the controversial swimming outing of the tribunal revisors together with her representative. There’s also no point to submit a plea to investigate it if he is aware that the investigation has been done. Nevertheless, he still has high hopes for winning his battle as he speaks of the recent victory of Manny Pacquiao in Malaysia.

[VIDEO]:  Battles are won by being disciplined, patient and not careless – one of the many lessons we can apply in life when we watch Manny Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao’s Victory

Led by President Rodrigo Du30, big politicians showed support for Senator Manny Pacquiao in his successful bid for the World Boxing Association welterweight belt here against Lucas Matthysse of Argentina. Marcos and his wife were there in Malaysia also. The former senator said that even the Malaysians were also for Pacquiao. Many Filipinos were not only proud inside the venue but much more passionate of the new honor when they emerged as a group outside the stadium after the fight.

Filipino Symbol

Many Malaysians can’t help but asked Marcos Pacquiao’s relevance for the Filipino people. He replied proudly that the great boxer is almost like the Filipino flag. Everyone respects him and all Filipinos are in cloud nine for his new win. The son of the late President Ferdinand Marcos admires Pacquiao’s words after winning – there’s a time to lose and a time to win, he said.

Corrupting the Supreme Court or the PET

Marcos’ camp, however, stood by their accusation and said that the photos they attached to their manifestation prove that one of Robredo’s personnel “fraternized” with the tribunal’s staff. Vic Rodriguez, the spokesperson for Marcos, also challenged the vice president to produce the said footage “provided it is authentic and not another product of her many lies.” “We have shown pictures of how she has corrupted the Supreme Court revisors and pictures don’t lie. To date all she has are alibis and more lies,” Rodriguez said in a message to reporters.

Thanking the New Dentists

On the same video, the footages also showed Marcos thanking the new dentists during an event for not going abroad. Most of them opted to work in the country. This is another indication that the progress of the country is felt somewhat by this sector of the medical industry. He was thankful to them for their choice in helping to rebuild the Philippines.

A Victorious Quest

Some people might not understand why Marcos has to spend a lot of money on his electoral protest against VP Robredo. They seem to forget that it is human nature to fight for what is right regardless of the cost. The amount of money spent on his quest can’t help a lot if he distributes them to the poor. Quality leadership is a must for the country to be great again. President Du30 thinks that Robredo is incompetent. He is banking on Marcos to continue what he started.

Can Senator Manny Pacquiao’s Boxing Diplomacy be Applied in Territorial Disputes under the Du30-Marcos Alliance?

senator

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

The victorious boxing champion of the Filipinos, Senator Manny Pacquiao can only be happier to see both the Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and Philippine President Rodrigo Du30 sitting in one row. This is during his latest fight  Lucas Matthysse in Malaysia. The people certainly did not forget how some Filipinos were massacred during the Sabah claim in Lahad Datu. New articles label it as the 2013 Lahad Datu standoff. It was a military conflict that started on 11 February 2013 and fully ended on 24 March 2013. This is where the men of the late Sultan Jamalul Kiram wishes to return to their homeland but were killed. During the 2016 elections campaign, Du30, Marcos, and Pacquiao are one in the Sabah claim issue. They aim to continue the quest of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos that was sabotaged by the Aquinos.

Boxing Diplomacy

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad is now a fan of Senator Manny Pacquiao. President Du30 was also present to cheer on the Filipino boxer. “This is indeed a historic day for Malaysia when we have a Filipino champion fighting in Malaysia witnessed by the leaders of both countries,” Mahathir said. This is part of our boxing diplomacy. We don’t punch each other,” he added. After the boxing match, Mahathir joined President Du30 to congratulate Pacquiao. The two leaders are expected to hold talks in the upcoming working day.

The President’s Wish for Pacquaio

The President congratulated Senator Pacquiao on his stunning knockout victory recently. Du30 describes Pacquiao as one of the world’s greatest boxers. He expresses hope that he will continue to be a source of inspiration for the Filipinos. “I would like to congratulate Senator Manny Pacquiao for giving us pride and bringing the Filipino nation together once more,” he said. Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao should consider retirement and enjoy life, the leader advised Pacman.

Former Senator Bongbong Marcos Joins Well-Wishers

Among the well-wishers were Senators Nancy Binay, Grace Poe, Richard Gordon, JV Ejercito, Cynthia Villar, and Sonny Angara, former Senator Bongbong Marcos, and Justice Undersecretary Emmeline Aglipay Villar. They posted their messages via social media. Bongbong Marcos always has the approval of Pacquiao in the field of politics. He even urges people to learn how to forgive if the late President Marcos, the clan’s patriarch hurt them in some ways since he comes clear of whatever accusations he got while still alive in legal courts.

The Du30-Marcos Diplomatic Style

It is a positive thing that PM Mahathir takes the diplomacy of Pacquiao’s boxing fame as the symbol for his country’s relationship with the Philippines. The Du30-Marcos style is so diplomatic that no war can occur even over a very sensitive issue like the South China Sea dispute. Marcos joined the President in Beijing when he started negotiating with the Chinese to leave the disputes first and strengthen the economic ties of both countries. This move is actually a big credit to the ASEAN countries. It is best to join hands in solving social issues than fight with guns that no one can ever win.

Malaysian and Filipino Humor is Unanimous with “PUKI” or “UKIP” Brexit Campaigner’s Flag

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Simple happenings never failed to remind us that despite living in different countries and fighting over different goals like the Sabah Claim issue, Filipinos and Malaysians are similar in many ways – due to their common origin that can be traced back from the 9 Datus of Borneo as history dictates.

One close similarity of course is the language since both Malay and Filipino languages derived from Sanskrit words – thus explaining the common words in both languages although they differ in grammar and pronunciation. “PUKI” refers to vagina in Malay and Filipino.

So, just imagine Filipinos and Malaysians seeing the leading “Brexit” campaigner Nigel Farage when pictured underneath a banner that accidentally spelled out “UKIP” to “PUKI” over the internet. Faraj which is also close to Farage’s family name also means the same in Malaysia’s local term. At least the laughter that resulted from that made that news viral over the net which is more fun than the territorial dispute.

Canadians did not Tolerate Abbu Sayyaf Kidnappings but Malaysians did – including corrupt officials

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
130 million Pesos was raised by families and friends of the kidnapped Malaysian sailors who were taken forcibly by the Abbu Sayyaf Group last April. However, only P100 million ranson for the four Malaysians reached the kidnappers. Rumors had it that government officials from both Malaysia and the Philippines kept the remaining 30 million to be divided among themselves as commissions. Regardless, brothers Wong Teck Kang, 31, and Teck Chii, 29; their cousin Johnny, 21; and co-worker Wong Hung Sing, 34 were all safe and now back to Malaysia.

The abdusction took place off Sabah then they were released in Jolo, Sulu, on June after a lengthy negotiations with the rebels led by a certain Apo Mike. The news became a sensation in Malaysia but still have to be absorbed by the Philippine media. The lump sum was believed to be coursed through a special branch of the Malaysian police and given to local officials in Sulu before the hand off to the ASG happened. It was reported that Malaysia knew that there’s a P30 million kickback by officials from both countries but this has not been confirmed by the local negotiators in Sulu.

The deputy Prime Minister justified the action by saying RM12 million was not paid to the kidnappers but to “legally and religiously sanctioned” organizations and agencies in the Philippines. However, religious organizations involved were not identified but a Malaysian official confirmed that the RM12 million that was handed over to the Special Branch was given as a form of contribution to certain organizations in the Philippines.” As per The Manila Times; there is credence to allegations by Jolo Mayor Hussin Amin that some local officials, probably including the military, may have colluded with the ASG, which recently beheaded Canadian Robert Hall. Another Canadian, John Ridsdel, was executed by the group in April when the group’s ransom demand was ignored- so as not to tolerate this insurgent activity that will put many travellers’ life at risk.
