The historical truth belongs to the victor. The win of Senator Imee Marcos indicates that most Filipinos believe in her stories. Revisionism is never the intention of the Marcoses – but the people need to know their side of the story. The fact that she won in key areas like the NCR, Cebu, Davao, and Baguio signifies that the black media propaganda days against them are over.

Problems Remain After 33 Years
The ouster of Marcos’ father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos in 1986 is not the answer to solve the problems of the country. They remain despite the promises of those politicians who illegally took the position from him. However, the memories of the so-called golden era linger. These are through the testimonies of the older people who are beneficiaries of the good president’s projects for the welfare of his countrymen.
Micro-Targeting Recipients of Assistance
The Senator’s strategy of micro-targeting the recipients of government assistance can obviously prioritize those who can help in the country’s progress. The helpless indigents are also first in line for much-needed care. A promising orphan for example who only needs one more year in college can already stand on her or his feet in a short period of time. However, there are some who can’t work anymore due to old age and sickness that must be supported.
No Revisionism, Only the Marcoses’ Side of the Story
Revisionism is never the agenda of the Marcoses. They just feel that they owe it to the people to tell their side of the stories. The accusations die one by one as they go along. While their good deeds, especially during her father’s era, still have the evidence to this date. The infrastructures are still useful. The nostalgic moments of the most controversial regime continue to resurface.
The Senatorial Win Shows that Marcos Addresses the Accusations Well
The people’s votes already speak for the accusations against Senator Marcos. There’s a truth about Filipinos getting fed-up of repetitive propaganda. It does not even matter if she has the credentials of both schools that deny her accomplishment. The people are just banking on her solutions to the country’s problems. As for her, she only answers the truth that she knows.
Get on to Work with Respect for the Truth
Marcos also reiterates that it needs respect for the opposing factions to work together for a common good. She vows to work harder under the administration of President Rodrigo Du30. The challenges for nation-building are massive and that’s the ultimate truth.
