Bongbong Marcos’ Remarks on Filipino Women and Children this Christmas

Christmas
By: Elena Grace Flores

It is not surprising that this Christmas, Bongbong Marcos prioritizes their medical missions, particularly in Ermita and Tondo. His mother is a champion in providing health facilities for Filipinos during his father’s regime. As these happen, Miss Philippines, Catriona Gray becomes Miss Universe. Marcos justifies this by saying that Filipino women are indeed the most beautiful, intelligent, and the best character-wise in the universe. He, however, urges public servants to pay a lot more attention to the plight of the unfortunate children. z

Children Deserve Better

Marcos explains: I spent an early Christmas with children in Manila this week. Amidst all the fun, I couldn’t help but realize that there’s still so much more we can do to improve the lives of these less fortunate children. Next year, let’s work on giving them more than just a party. He said this after realizing that most of these children do not have a house that they can call their home. No one takes care of them and gives them Christmas gifts.

Catriona Gray’s Silver Lining Advocacy

Gray visits the Young Focus Foundation Child Care Center in Balut, Tondo. and holds a feeding program for the children. It is a non-government organization that operates since 2008, starting with the children in Smokey Mountain. Believing that education is the most powerful tool to overcome poverty, the foundation had set up several pre-schools in Tondo. The beauty queen even joins in the classes. Her favorite is story time where she sits in with the children. She also works to help renovate the pre-school so that it could take in more children from the surrounding communities.

Christmas Learning

Gray refers to the kids in this Foundation in Tondo when she was asked of the most important lesson she has learned in life during the recent Miss Universe pageant. “I work a lot in the slums of Tondo, Manila and the life there is poor and it’s very sad. And I have always taught myself to look for the beauty in it; to look for beauty in the faces of the children and to be grateful,” she answered. “And I will bring this aspect as a Miss Universe, to see situations with a silver lining. And to assess where I could give something, where I could provide something like a spokesperson. And if I can teach people to be grateful, we can have an amazing world where negativity cannot grow and prosper, and children will have smiles on their faces.”

Smile on the Children’s Faces

Like Gray, Marcos also believes in gift giving. It is essential to make them feel the spirit of Christmas through these gifts given during a Christmas Party. The smile of the children and the warmth they felt during these occasions after a little act of kindness is indeed the real joy.

He can do More

Marcos vows to do more than just the projects he has been doing already to make this sector of society happier next year. He made no mention of the VP electoral protest that gets really quiet during the holidays. He can only insinuate that when he is in the position, he can do more to alleviate poverty. Perhaps a government effort that can directly give a decent life to the indigents. Just like his mother’s housing projects.

Grieving for Red before Miss Universe: Atty. Chong Calls for Justice after PAO’s Finding

Miss Universe
By: Elena Grace Flores

The Philippine’s bet for Miss Universe, Catriona Gray made her mother’s dream a reality. She was crowned in red recently. Just prior to her victory, another Red or Richard Santillan, Atty. Glenn Chong’s aide for 11 years was killed by police scalawags. PAO’s forensic finding on the last day of his wake shows that he was tortured. This is after the murder and set up scenarios floated by the police. The clean election lawyer/whistleblower swears to avenge his death amidst the hysterical cries of Santillan’s wife and mother. z

[VIDEO]: Atty. Glenn Chong calls on the PNP Chief after learning PAO’s forensic finding that Santillan was tortured prior to the alleged ambush/shootout situation.

PNP Chief On Fire

Chong calls on PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde to give justice at once to his trusted aide’s death. He can be made accountable for being quiet. Chong said that it may be acceptable for the police to kill criminals. But not torture any citizen, kill, and drag to the road to fake a shoot out scene. He said that the police chief’s silence can only implicate him to the crime.

Fake Police Report

According to the police investigation, Santillan died during a legitimate police operation against “Highway Boys.” It is a criminal group involved in the robbery, illegal drug trade, and murder in Rizal and eastern parts of Metro Manila. However, Chong’s belief that his bodyguard/friend did not die that way proves to be right as per forensic evidence from the PAO.

Initial Suspicion was Right

The suspicion of Chong that Santillan was tortured stems after he saw that one of his toenails was removed by his killers. This triggers him to think that the perpetrators tried to get him through the slain aide. Santillan did not show up at the airport on that unfortunate day. Therefore, Chong can be the real target who managed to take a taxi home.

Mafia-like Operation

It is very obvious that Santillan’s circumstances follow the same pattern as that of the late teenager, Kian de Los Santos’ death. That was also from the hands of the corrupt authorities. It certainly made the President looks bad for giving considerations to the men in uniform during legitimate police operations for the drug war. The only difference is that the former was popularized by the media while the latter was under strict control. The world’s mafia is known to have power over the mainstream news channels.

Miss Universe in Red Triumphs Despite Many Filipinos’ Grief

The new Miss Universe certainly brings honor to the country with her wit, beauty, and charm. She looked stunning in her red Mayon volcano-inspired gown. Her winning slow motion signature turn is like no other. Despite the nation’s glee over her success, around half of the Filipinos are grieving and seeking justice for fallen Red.

Maxine Medina on Being Herself: Got an Interpreter but Bravely Speaks in English

Maxine Medina

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Miss Philippines did a good job representing the country. Never mind not making it in the top three of the 65th Miss Universe pageant. She is under a lot of pressure as the host country and the bashes over social media. In the end, she stands on her ground. She gets an interpreter but answers in English. That’s how she is – a woman who faces her fears!

Youtube video by; SUPER SEVEN
[VIDEO]: MAXINE Medina apologizes to the public after she made an erroneous remark that former first lady Imelda Marcos supposedly “invented” the traditional Filipino Terno.

Advises of Beauty Queens

1969 Miss Universe Gloria Diaz advises Medina to get an interpreter. This is for her to express herself well in the question and answer portion. 1973 Miss Universe Margie Moran leaves it to destiny to win the crown. There’s no formula for it but gives credit to Medina for improving a lot after going through the stages of the competition.

2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach’s advice is for her to be calm and think that she is with her all the way.  Medina opted to be herself with considerations of the other pointers as what her aunt, former Miss Universe Philippines 1990 Gem Padilla-Thomas told her.

Bashing on Imelda Marcos’ Terno

Maxine Medina is definitely not a history or communications expert but she is honest and speaks her mind on what she knows. In her own special way. former First Lady Imelda Marcos “re-invents” the elegantly beautiful Filipiniana gown version of the original Terno. She popularizes the enhanced Terno by wearing it proudly in relevant events. Various matching styles with the “Iron Butterfly” sleeves are displayed. Since it is really Marcos who is associated with the distinctive Butterfly sleeves, who can blame Maxine Medina for giving her credit? Only the politically biased people cannot accept this fact.

Not a Bad Answer

The many people that join together in unity for one great event like the Miss Universe pageant is indeed an important event but not quite a big change. That’s Medina’s view – but some people think that she needs a somewhat controversial answer to excel in the pageant. Like President Rodrigo Duterte’s victory perhaps and his verbal attacks against former President Barrack Obama and the United Nations who are condemning his war on drugs? It can also be when the Americans voted for a black man during Obama’s time for the first time?

Phone Protection: NQ Mobile Security 2 years or NQ Mobile Security 1 year

Look at the Bright Side

Medina is breathtaking in her gown, the two-piece, and national costume. Miss USA and Miss Kenya both have strong and inspiring answers to every question thrown at them – but like Medina, they are not included in the top three. This time, destiny’s choice is Miss France.

Is there Danger in Holding Miss Universe 2016 Pageant in the Philippines?

Miss Universe 2016

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

If Latinas are protesting against Donald Trump by not joining the Miss Universe pageant in 2016, there are also protests in the Philippines. Actually not so much on the terrorism threats. It has more to do with the alleged objectionable, scandalous, and demeaning sexist attitude demonstrated by the newly elected leaders of our country

[VIDEO]: Here are terrorism threats that would jeopardize the Miss Universe pageant should the scheduled event pushes through – but it seems not the case.

Tourism Secretary’s View

“We have a President that comes from Mindanao and our Miss Universe is from Mindanao so I think this is the best time for us to do the Miss Universe here in the Philippines,” Tourism secretary, Wanda Teo said.

Pia’s Courtesy Call

Last July 18, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach paid a courtesy call on Duterte to convince him to agree to the DoT’s plan to hold the pageant in the country. Duterte was previously quoted in a report saying he will not spend money to host Miss Universe. “I will not spend for it,” he was quoted saying.

Proposals to other Countries

DoT Media Director Ina Zara said the President of the Miss Universe Organization Paula Shugart proposed the hosting of the pageant to other countries as well, but the Philippines has been the top choice from the start — and Pia Wurtzbach was one of the reasons for that.

Protests are not Terrorism Related

Initially, organizers have been worried about the effects of terrorism in the country to the upcoming Miss Universe 2016 Pageant. However, this can be secured by choosing a secluded island that would limit the traffic of people. There are protests going on. But it has something to do with the President’s wrong interpretation on his attitudes towards women.

Protests from Women Leaders

A new letter signed by women leaders and concerned citizens has been sent to the leadership of the Miss Universe Organization, urging them not to hold the upcoming international pageant’s coronation night in the Philippines.

Signatories of the Protest

Among the more than 50 signatories in the growing list are businesswoman, and civic leader Loida Nicolas Lewis; professor and Rappler columnist Sylvia Claudio; and former Ayala Foundation president Vicky Garchitorena. The letter summarizes many of the objectionable comments from both the President and government officials that have made news in recent months.

What it Takes to be a Beauty Queen

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Miss Universe

Beauty queens look so pampered and luxurious but what we did not know is their tough training before they can get where they are now. Just doing the duck walk everyday on their heels is already too much of a burden. If you are a quitter, you can’t be a beauty queen for sure. This is just one example – read this to know more:

How to spot a potential beauty queen

By: Boy Abunda

Beauty pageant season is upon us. With the triumph of Megan Young in the Miss World pageant, the Philippines has now won all the major beauty titles in the world, some more than once.

It’s true, the Philippines does have some of the most beautiful women in the world. But it takes a certain skill to spot that beauty, bring it out and make it shine in front of the world — and that’s where people like Jonas Gaffud come in. http://www.philstar.com/entertainment/2013/10/26/1249384/how-spot-potential-beauty-queen

The beauty queen structure comes naturally like the body shape, long arms and legs but most of the other characteristics can be learned. The walk, talk, projection, smile, look and many more can be obtained through rigorous training. Although there are many beautiful ladies in the Philippines, it takes strict discipline to become a titled beauty queen!
