Gov. Imee Marcos is a Leader who Unites Political Parties as she Runs for Senator

By: Elena Grace Flores

Gov. Imee Marcos who runs for Senator joins the ribbon cutting of Consumer’s Welfare Week 2018 at the Makati City Hall. She hails the leadership of Mayor Abby Binay and her Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo. Marcos explains that there’s not much difference in managing a progressive commercial district compared to being a governor in a small province in terms of public service. However, it is obvious that the city has more funds and her territory only has a larger area. She also jokes about the Yabuts, the good and the bad.

Inflation Treatment

Gov. Marcos prides herself in initiating or bringing back the Kadiwa system that allows direct trade from the producers themselves to the direct consumers. This eliminates the added costs of the agents in between thus lowering the costs of the basic commodities. She wishes to distribute their processed meats to the city hoping that the buyers can also benefit from the affordable prices.

Local Trade

Since her province, Ilocos Norte is a producer of vegetables and other crops, she aims to have trade relations with Makati for these raw products in a major way. Makati is no doubt the commercial district of the Philippines and a model for a successful city, she said. It would be a boost for her products to be directly distributed to this highly developed urban area.

Alliance with the Du30s

It is widely known that Marcos forges an alliance with the Hugpong political party of the President’s daughter, Davao Mayor Sara Du30. She also defends the Filipino leader by saying that there was no such thing as militarization under the Duterte administration. She points out that the military officials appointed in various government positions were no longer in active military service.

Friendship with the Binays

It was also in the news that Gov. Marcos met with Senator Nancy Binay to thank the latter for filing a resolution for the Senate’s electoral fraud investigation during the 2016 elections. The revelations during such hearings put Bongbong Marcos in a good light. Now, she shows support to the incumbent mayor of Makati. This is despite the Binay siblings’ rivalry in the mayoral position in 2019. The situation is not really surprising because of the fact that even the Binay patriarch, former Vice President Jojo Binay is not worried about it. Eventually, one of his children would surely be elected regardless.

Uniting Political Parties as Senator Bet

Earlier, Mayor Abby Binay said during a forum at Malate, Manila, answering questions whether UNA will form an alliance with Mayor Du30’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP). “Historically if you look at my dad, he is always not aligned particularly with ruling parties,” she added. Nevertheless, as a supporter of Hugpong, Gov. Marcos, can definitely bridge the cooperation of the two parties by simply being friendly and cooperative with both. After all, they are only against the yellow-minded stalwarts.

Why are there Attempts to Destroy the Du30-Marcos-Binay Alliance in time for the New Supreme Court CJ?

Supreme Court

By: Elena Grace Flores

Misled Marcos supporters made unlogical posts on social media recently. They said that President Rodrigo Du30 just uses Bongbong Marcos to enhance his already outstanding popularity during the last elections. This is because of his alleged no action on Marcos’ electoral protest. As political experts say, all alliances are vital in every election. This is why we can see posts that discredit the Binays despite the efforts of the former VP to gather evidence for the 2016 electoral fraud. His daughter, Senator Nancy Binay also filed a resolution for the Senate to investigate such anomalies. Marcos himself is very thankful of that. There is actually another reason to destroy the Du30-Marcos-Binay alliance. The President by law can’t have a hand in the protest. He can only appoint Supreme Court magistrates.

[VIDEO]: October 18, 2018 – JBC public panel interview for the position of Supreme Court Associate Justice

Constitutional Supreme Court Process

Pursuant to Section 2, Rule 7 of the Revised Rules of the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC), a public panel interview was conducted on 18 October 2018at the Division Hearing Room, Supreme Court Main Building of the following candidates for the position of SC Associate Justice (vice Hon. Teresita J. Leonardo-De Castro):

1. JIMENO, Rita Linda V.
2. QUIROZ, Alex D.L.

The following are also candidates for the said judicial position, but whose previous interviews are still valid:
1. BADELLES, Oscar V.
2. BARRIOS, Manuel M.
3. BRUSELAS, Apolinario D., Jr.
4. CARANDANG, Rosmari D.
5. CRUZ, Stephen C. 11. VILLANUEVA, Cesar L.
6. DELOS SANTOS, Edgardo L.
7. DIMAAMPAO, Japar B.
8. GARCIA, Ramon D.R.
9. LAZARO-JAVIER, Amy C.

Seniority or Alliance Challenge for President Du30

As per the rule, at least 3 candidates must be nominated according to the seniority culture of the SC. Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio has accepted his automatic nomination for the Chief Justice post. He has been at the Supreme Court since October 2001, is the first appointee of former President, now Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. He is the third candidate to accept his nomination – first was Associate Justice Lucas Bersamin, followed by Associate Justice Diosdado Peralta. However, he opposed the ouster of the anti-administration CJ Maria Lourdes-Sereno. Carpio’s nomination will determine if Du30 will stay true to his word that seniority was his biggest factor in appointing De Castro, according to the yellow media. However, rejecting him would also make his alliance with Bongbong Marcos stronger who’s electoral protest against the presumptive VP, Leni Robredo is still pending with the slow manual recount of the pioneer areas.

Du30’s Supreme Court Appointees

After 4 previous appointments to the High Court in 2017 – Samuel Martires (March 2, 2017), Noel Tijam (March 8, 2017), Andres Reyes (July 13, 2017), and Alexander Gesmundo (August 14, 2017). Du30 is filling up 4 more vacancies by the end of 2018. An additional 5 by the end of 2019 are also at stake. It will be a Du30-packed court by the time the President ends his term in 2022. Of the 15 sitting SC justices by then, a total of 13 would be his appointees. If the VP electoral protest ruling happens in 2019, 9 out of 15 is already a majority.

The Binay vs. Binay in Makati is Part of Democracy

The former Vice President Jejomar Binay will not choose whom to support as Mayor of Makati between his two children this coming 2019 midterm polls. He said that he will leave it to the voters whom they will choose as their local leader. While the yellow media are feasting over this issue, the Binay patriarch is certain that one of his children will win. He is not only democratic during elections but also as a father. Despite the divided votes, they still have the majority. That’s how strong the political supporters of the Binays are. So, the question of why Senator Binay won in the first place is not logical. Her alliance with Gov. Imee Marcos works both ways. Remember that one voter won’t vote only for one Senator but 12. The new constitution dictates that 12 senators would be elected every three years.

Du30-Marcos Alliance is Formidable

The President who is an incumbent and former senator Marcos who was denied his rightful place to become an incumbent is are still hanging on. However, emerging alliance between Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Du30-Carpio is sending the yellow supporters sleepless nights. An alliance between a Du30 and a Marcos is already naturally proven to be formidable. It has a constituency that is real and not just imagined. So, if one is really a Marcos loyalist, he or she won’t ride on to the yellow’s black propaganda to destroy the Du30-Marcos-Binay alliance for the governor to be the number one Senator.

Election Riddle: If Imee Marcos Makes it to the Top 3 Senators 2019, What will it Make Bongbong Marcos in 2022?

election

By: Elena Grace Flores

The anti-Marcos stalwarts can only deny the rising popularity of Gov. Imee Marcos for Senator in the upcoming 2019 election. However, they start to ask; Will voters care if the candidate is pro-Marcos or anti-Marcos? Political analysts and Professor, Ramon Casiple, Tindig Pilipinas Convenor. Atty. Edwin Lacierda, and Atty. Bruce Rivera debate on the issue. At one point, they insinuate that if she makes it to the top 3, then what will it make Bongbong Marcos in 2022?

[VIDEO]: Will voters care if the candidate is pro-Marcos or anti-Marcos? Political analysts and Professor, Ramon Casiple, Tindig Pilipinas Convenor, Atty. Edwin Lacierda, and Atty. Bruce Rivera said that this is a non-factor in the voters’ decision in choosing their candidates.

Top 3 Contenders for Senators

Political personalities seeking reelection and a return to the Senate will most likely top the senatorial elections. A commissioned survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) announced this recently. Billionaire Senator Cynthia Villar tops the survey with 53 percent. Senator Grace Poe immediately follows. Taguig Representative, Pia Cayetano, a former senator was next. The two are tied at 2nd and 3rd place with 43 percent each.

Reelectionists on the 4th and 5th Places

Tied in 4th and 5th places meanwhile, are reelectionists, Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III and former Senator Lito Lapid. Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, who seeks for a political comeback after a three-year detention over plunder charges, places 6th. Next in the list is the former senator and Interior Secretary Mar Roxas Lacierda stresses that the LP would be very happy if Roxas is indeed running.

8th and 9th Placers

Reelectionist Senators Nancy Binay and Sonny Angara share the 8th to 9th spots. Bureau of Corrections chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa follows them. Completing the “Magic 12” are former Senator Serge Osmeña and Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos. As per the discussion, Marcos can still make it to the top 3 since her position jumps to the 7th from the 11th spot during Pulse Asia’s recent survey.

The Likely Occupants of the 12 Senatorial Seats

Reelectionist Senators Nancy Binay and Sonny Angara shared the 8th to 9th spots at 26 percent each. Bureau of Corrections chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa follows at 25 percent. Completing the “Magic 12” are former Senator Serge Osmeña and Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos at 24 percent each. The rest of the LP bets are at the tail end.

Imee Marcos’ Rise in the 2019 Election Survey

Unfortunately for the Marcos detractors, there’s a sudden rise of Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos’ rank in the recent Pulse Asia senatorial survey. Its President justifies it by saying that it is not due to “an increase of her voting support.” The daughter of the late President Ferdinand Marcos climbs to the 8th spot in Pulse Asia’s September senatorial preferences survey. She is up 6 spots from her 14th place finish in the June survey. Atty. Rivera explains that since Marcos has the support of President Rodrigo Du30, she can easily gain votes from his supporters. Likewise, Du30’s chosen Presidential successor is her brother Bongbong Marcos. That can very well equate to his possible win should he runs for President in 2022.

Do You Know Bongbong Marcos’ Likely Bets for Election 2019?

Election 2019

By: Elena Grace Flores

Bongbong Marcos reminds the members of the Marcos Loyalists Movement during his visit in Cebu. That the officials they will vote for election 2019 are for public service. Not to make themselves rich but to make the lives of their constituents better. This is the ultimate Marcos idealism. He urges the public to choose election candidates who do not play politics only but the ones who put service to the people first. Marcos repeats that he does not intend to run for Senator. He definitely won’t spoil his electoral protest against the presumptive VP, Leni Robredo. Below is the list of likely candidates that might get Marcos’ endorsement:

YouTube video by Bongbong Marcos

[VIDEO]: For those who have been wondering if I intend to run in the coming elections – I won’t spoil it, but the answer is in this #BBMvlog.

Gov. Imee Marcos for Election 2019

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos attributes her rise in the latest Pulse Asia senatorial survey to ‘engagement’ with Filipinos. However, Pulse Asia’s president, Ronnie Holmes has another explanation. others who were ahead of her in June dropped in the September survey for the election 2019. In Pulse Asia’s latest Ulat ng Bayan survey on the 2019 senatorial elections released on September 22, Marcos rose to the 7th to 11th places with a 32.6% voter preference, landing her in the so-called winners’ circle.  Marcos has been spending the last few months going around different provinces in the country. She is currently seen attending various events, from town fiestas to distribution of relief goods. She surely gets her brother’s support from the start.

Ex-ASec Mocha Uson

Former Palace official Mocha Uson confirms that she will seek an elective post in the polls next year. The announcement came a week after she resigned as a “sacrifice” to pave the way for the approval of the Presidential Communications Operations Office budget. Deliberations on the agency’s budget had been delayed by her failure to attend budget hearings, where heads of agencies and offices are often asked about their accomplishments in the previous year. She announced her resignation during the Senate hearing on the PCOO budget for 2019. Mocha Uson confirms running for 2019 elections but not sure yet if Senate or House seat. She believes that ordinary Filipinos should have a voice. As the President’s avid supporter, Marcos only has good words for her. He wished that she can finally find the position where she can truly be happy.

Senator Nancy Binay

Teachers who will volunteer to supervise the conduct of elections in the country should receive tax-free compensation, Senator Nancy Binay said. Binay has introduced a bill in the Senate which seeks to exempt from income tax the compensation given to teachers whenever they serve as members of the electoral board during national or local poll exercises. Unfortunately,  she said the election season is prone to incidents of election-related violence and deaths. She said the government should recognize the public service that teachers perform during national and local elections by at least exempting from income tax the compensation given to them. Under present laws, compensation for services in whatever form paid, including but limited to fees, salaries, wages, commissions, and similar items are included in gross income and taxable. Earlier, Marcos thanked her for filing a resolution that made the 2016 election fraud investigation at the Senate possible.

SAP Bong Gp

Special Assistant to the President Bong Go has now decided to run for senator. This was announced by no less than President Rodrigo Du30. For the past months, Go has kept busy honoring speaking engagements all over the country without the President. He has frequently appeared at public events, distributing relief goods to fire victims and flood victims. One time, he even donated a brand new ambulance to a Leyte hospital. Marcos can only support Go as an endorsee of President Du30.

Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada

Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada said that he would “most probably” run in next year’s mid-term elections to reclaim his Senate seat. Estrada welcomes the filing of charges against former President Benigno Aquino III and former Budget Secretary Butch Abad in connection with the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) recently. He also appears with Gov. Marcos in a TV interview to talk about the force behind their senatorial bids. As one of Ex-Pnoy’s selective justice victims, he can only back the Marcoses, who are the Aquino’s ultimate concern.

Senators Cynthia Villa and Pia Cayetano

The Nacionalista Party (NP) will field three women in the 2019 senatorial elections, NP chairman Sen. Cynthia Villar said yesterday. Aside from Villar, the other two women are Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos and Taguig City Rep. Pia Cayetano. Villar said the NP is revitalizing its alliance with the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) and the ruling PDP-Laban to form a coalition for the 2019 elections. In fact, Gov. Marcos already forges an alliance with Hugpong, which is a Presidential daughter, Sara Du30 organizes.

Binay’s UNA Open Coalition Policy Echoes Bongbong Marcos’ Unity Call

unity

By: Elena Grace Flores

The United Nationalist Alliance is pushing towards unity.  According to UNA President Nancy Binay, they are open to a coalition to even the Liberal Party. With the country rife with political divisions, this may be hard to understand. Nevertheless, it is all to reach the unity idealism that Bongbong Marcos is calling for.

Youtube video by Elena Grace Flores

[VIDEO]: Marcos said that Senator Nancy Binay Filed a resolution to study all digital fraud in 2016

LP is Welcome for Unity

Binay opens UNA’s doors to all including the Liberal Party. The LP, right now, is under Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan. He and other members of the Liberal Party are vocal in their critiques against the Du30 administration. Nonetheless, this is not limited to the party alone. In fact, the noisiest detractor, Senator Antonio Trillanes is not from the LP. He is from the Nacionalista Party. However, he is noted to have the rebellious behavior of the yellow group.

No Exception

UNA is also opening its doors to the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino and the Nationalist People’s Coalition, Binay discloses that with the senators who run for reelection, they are committed to helping each other in their campaigns.

Senatorial Bets

Senators running for reelection this 2019 includes Grace Poe, Bam Aquino, Cynthia Villar, JV Estrada, Koko Pimentel, and Sonny Angara. Ranking in third in the Pulse Asia Survey, Binay is also vowing to work hard in campaigning. She says that there is no room to be complacent.

Bongbong Marcos Ideology

With the protests against former President Ferdinand Marcos’ burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, Marcos is calling for unity. He is especially grateful towards President Duterte for recognizing his father’s service to the nation. Furthermore, Duterte also called for forgiveness and for human rights victims to present their cases to court.

UNA Echoes Marcos’ Unity Call

Marcos’ call for unity is universal. Consequently, the Bicolanos warmly accepts this and agrees that unity is what we need for the country to progress.  They believe that if there can be unity, then the country can move forward. UNA’s coalition to all political parties is in line with Marcos’ call. After all, the yellow mentality of the opposition is not confined within the LP camp. Opposing factions also exist in other political parties. Likewise, Marcos needs the support of other parties also for his bid in the executive office. That is why he is thankful to Senator Binay for filing the law that enables the Senate to investigate the 2016 election fraud.
