Bongbong Marcos assures his nephew, Matthew Marcos Manotoc that there will be chaos in the election 2019 but there’s nothing to worry about. The whole family will be there beside him every step of the way. Manotoc is set to run as the next governor of Ilocos Norte. His mother, who vacated the position runs for Senator.

Lots of Teasing
Manotoc wants to be known as the sporty government official who loves to eat. He in fact refers to himself as Mr. Gluttony as his brother, Borgy calls him “matakaw.” He surely knows how to laugh at his weaknesses which is a very positive trait.
Dressing Up for the Occasion
The former Senator expresses his admiration to the young Board Member who has shown impressive moves in the past months or weeks. One major decision was to run for governor replacing his grandmother, Cong. Imelda Marcos who is already 89 years old. He is only 30 years old.
Senior Board Member Manotoc led the inaugural ceremonies of the new three-generational (3G) playgrounds and fitness parks recently. This is in the towns of Solsona, Sarrat, Vintar, Nueva Era, Banna, Marcos, Bangui, Burgos and Currimao. These projects are in line with his advocacy for more Ilocanos to adopt healthy and active lifestyles regardless of age.
Any Chance for Fariñas?
The young governor bet for Ilocos Norte runs head on against the greatest critic of his mother, Rep. Rudy Fariñas. The outcome of Imee Marcos’ ordeal brought about by the latter during the detention of the Ilocos 6 shows that Marcos has the power over him not just in their hometown but also in the branches of government. This puts Fariñas into a bad light.
Election 2019 Promise
Bongbong Marcos is another foundation of Manotoc aside from his mother. He swears to give is utmost support to his nephew without failing to warn him that it’s not going to be easy. However, they both have the mechanism and influence to put on the line for him to become the next governor of Ilocos Norte replacing ex-Gov. Marcos.
Imelda Marcos’ grandson, Ilocos Norte 2nd District Senior Board Member Matthew Marcos Manotoc, will run for governor instead of her. Manotoc, the son of Ilocos Norte Governor and bet for Senator, Imee Marcos, originally filed his candidacy for vice governor. This makes the previous politicizing in the Congress launched by Rep. Rodolfo “Rudy” Fariñas against his mother clearer than ever. The Ilocos 6 suffered a great deal just for Fariñas to get an edge over Manotoc-Marcos for the election 2019. How could Ilocos Norte forget?

Substituting Imelda Marcos
Matthew Marcos Manotoc, incumbent Senior Provincial Board Member, will run for Governor of Ilocos Norte. Previously, he had filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for Vice Governor of the province but decided to finally substitute his grandmother, 2nd District Rep. Imelda R. Marcos, in the 2019 gubernatorial race.
Opposing the No. 1 Detractor
Manotoc will be running against Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Rodolfo “Rudy” Fariñas, who substituted for former Barangay Bengcag, Laoag City Jesus Arimbuyotan as the gubernatorial bet recently. Fariñas strategy seems to boomerang to him. He is now opposed by the more younger and charming Marcos. Manotoc’s mother, Imee’s ordeal in the Congress definitely failed. Imelda Marcos is also smart enough to pretend that she is really running despite her old age.
Ferdinand Marcos’ Kin Runs for Vice Governor
Board Member Mariano “Nonong” Marcos has substituted Manotoc for the vice gubernatorial race as well. Nonong Marcos is the son of Pacifico, the younger brother of Imelda’s husband and former President, the late Ferdinand Marcos whose works still exist at the present time in service to the Filipino people.
Politics in the Congress
The House of Representatives allowed majority leader Rodolfo Fariñas and House accountability committee chairman Johnny Pimentel to harass Gov. Imee Marcos. It detained six officials of the Ilocos Norte provincial government on the strength of what it construes as “contempt of the House” or “obstruction of justice”. The six detained officials, who are known as “Ilocos 6,” are Pedro Agcaoili, chairman of the planning and development office; Josephine Calajate, provincial treasurer; Eden Battulayan, Encarnacion Gaor and Genedine Jambaro, staff at the treasurer’s office; and Evangeline Tabulog, provincial budget officer.
The North Remembers in the Election 2019
It is a sure win for Manotoc, a champion amateur golfer like his dad, Tommy Manotoc is a viral comment over social media. Given the stunts of Fariñas, it is likely that most Ilocos Norte voters would go for a Marcos whose family is known to prioritize their people than their position. Surely, Imee Marcos is right that the North indeed remembers.
