The Marcos family symbolizes the many aspects of Filipino lives. The Overseas Filipino Workers’ culture is no stranger to greeting birthdays from afar using technology. The recent birthday of Simon Marcos, the middle child of Bongbong and Liza Marcos shows this. It was celebrated the way most global Filipinos do. Birthday wishes were transmitted over the internet while he is in New York. He got to be the favorite son during his special day only.
Sandro, the eldest son wishes his brother, Simon a birthday blast from London. He is looking forward to seeing him again and celebrate for real when they are back in the country. They may have different choices for their future careers but the goals and intention are the same for sure.
Vincent from Singapore
Vince also promises to cook him spaghetti Bolognese, which is more likely his favorite when they see each other again in the Philippines. He also gives up his title for the day as the favorite son to the birthday celebrant as an obedient son of his mother who happens to ask for it. However, he wants to reclaim the label soon.
Mother Liza from Ilocos
His mother from Ilocos is also all out in greeting her beloved son miles away. She said that wherever they are, they love him the same. They wish him the best in life. Being the hands-on mom since her sons were little, she really did a good job in adjusting to the current situation when they are in different countries. Teaching children how to become independent really makes sense.
Bongbong Marcos’ Grants his Wish
The former Senator, Bongbong Marcos grants his son’s wish to celebrate his birthday while he is in New York. While it is a good thing to celebrate with the family, it is a reality that when children become adults, they get to have their own circle of friends. There’s definitely no dictatorship traits in this family.
The Birthday Celebrant, Simon
Simon seems busy these days but to balance his activities, he continues to do what he loves the most – playing the guitar. Music can really relax a person’s whole being. Celebrating one’s birthday from a distance is not anymore impossible these days. They may be the Marcoses but they are truly Filipinos.
Ever since the elections 2016, President Rodrigo Du30 has been very consistent that he does not want to be in the top post of the country. Instead, he intends to pass over the presidency to Bongbong Marcos who is likely his real successor. Marcos’ electoral protest against Vice President Leni Robredo is slowly progressing. The gag order to both camps made it very quiet. Thus causing apprehensions among the people. If Du30 is really a dictator as what his detractors claim, then this should not be the case.

Du30’s Endorsement in China
The anti-Du30 administration media cannot hide the fact that the President endorses Marcos during one of his earlier trips in China. He said that if he wins the electoral protest, the Philippines will have a new Vice President. True enough to his world, he never fails to show his acceptance to VP Leni Robredo. This made her resign from his cabinet. She is now out of the loop and only uses her office to block the anticipated takeover.
Bongbong Marcos’ Clarification and Protest
Marcos’ clarification during his pre-election debate with Du30’s running mate, now Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Alan Peter Cayetano is clear that he understands the President’s intention. Despite this huge favor, he is not happy of the enormous electoral protest delay. He criticizes Robredo’s motion for grave concern over the use of a plastic magnifying glass by his revisor. As dictated by the rule of law, Du30 can’t do anything about it.
Propaganda against Democracy
The government critics are clearly foolish when they accuse Du30 of dictatorship. They should know that the Philippine constitution dictates that there are 3 equal branches of government that can dispute each other. This means that the Filipino leader cannot drastically change the country’s policies. He can only talk about it however he likes but the legal processes remain. Surprisingly, no critic of him ever disputes the PET’s gag order which is clearly a suppression of the freedom for information.
The President’s Wish
The President said that if he cannot solve the crime problem in 3 to 6 months, he will turn over the post to Bongbong. It is specific that’s it’s for him. Not to whoever claims to be the VP. If he has his way, he can just settle back in Davao and enjoy being a grandfather. He is surely not getting any younger. Marcos might be seen getting ready for whatever happens but the opposition is expected to do whatever it can again to block him from the presidency. Majority of Filipinos voted for Du30 and his trust rating remains high. Therefore, the country is now ready for the next Marcos to be President in the era of greatness.
Sandro, Simon and Vincent Marcos are adorable siblings. They are the sons of former senator Bongbong Marcos and wife Louise Araneta. Sandro recently announces that he does not plan to run for any position at the moment. The eldest son is currently working in London. Since the brothers are only a year apart, the ball in politics seems to be passing on Simon.

Family Perception on Politics
Simon said that he’s glad that his parents let them be as they want. He may be reluctant to enter politics but he is game in all media exposures. At the age of 21, he already knew that there’s simply no other place around the world that offers the best Peking duck but Beijing. Simon just couldn’t get enough of Beijing’s most popular local specialty. Despite distractions like this, he knew in his heart that they belong to politics ever since the start of his existence awareness.
Social Media Bashers
Joseph Simon first went to study in England in 2006. “He was sent to a boarding school when he was 11 years because his elder brother Sandro was already studying there. His younger brother, Vincent. also entered at the age of 11.” Simon then went back to London for his Oxford Brookes schooling. He takes up Business Management Economics. Bongbong Marcos himself went to Oxford where he took up Political Science, Philosophy and Economics from 1975 to 1978. His degree issue has always been revived over the internet. However, social media gives him the edge over the opposition because of their genuine public service efforts.
Tried to be Disciplinarian
Except for his surname, Simon is a regular guy. “He likes playing football. He takes guitar lessons during his free time. He also likes jamming with friends when he’s in Manila,” the father said. The middle son also reveals that his father is trying to be a disciplinarian. He ends up giving in to their choices.
No Baby Talks
The public is now questioning if the three siblings are going to enter the world of politics in which their father desired to do or not. They are given the choice to decide their own path in which they want to succeed in. In fact, Louise Araneta Marcos(mother) prefer her child to be not active in politics and away from the public eye. However, a Marcos is a Marcos and would always do what they are geared for. As for Simon, many people await his plans in the near future.
