Gov. Imee Marcos as Senator: Even a Bad Hair Day Can’t Stop Her Public Service Efforts

Empowering the youth through the Kabataang Barangay where Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos started in politics has become very successful. It gives access to free education and skills training that equip young Filipinos in doing good in the country’s workforce. Some even become global players in the business. She acknowledges that social media is a big help for them to air their side when the commercial press people are more interested in a female politician’s bad hair day. Public service is Gov. Marcos’ life and as she plans to run as Senator, she stresses her commitment to back the President’s efforts to bring changes in society for the better good of the Filipinos.

Kabataang Barangay

The Katipunan ng Kabataan (KK) which means Youth Federation in English, is the mainstream federation of Filipino youths duly sponsored by the government of the Republic of the Philippines since the late President Ferdinand Marcos’ regime. It has chapters in all the 41,996 barangays of the country. Gov. Marcos was then the National Chairman of the Kabataang Barangay when she was 21 years old. Now, she is proud to say that many of its members are not successful in their chosen field or career. May it be in public service, corporate, oe business undertakings.

Media is More Interested in Bad Hair Day

It is tough for a female politician when she has to study policies but then the media is more interested in their having a bad hair day. She has been a subject of propaganda attacks since KB time and of course, from 1986. However, she admits that they also have a part in not airing their side. They do not have the sympathy of the media. It is only now that social media allows real people to air their part of the story. She also has nice words for millennials who are fortunate enough to have the technology throughout their existence. They can’t be fooled, she said.

Changes in Society

Under the leadership of President Rodrigo Roa Du30, the projects of former President Marcos are acknowledged. Better yet, beneficial works that were halted during the 1986 power grab by the Aquinos are revived. The infrastructure move is now continued with the Build Build Build initiative.Perhaps the nuclear power plant can serve areas that are not provided with enough electricity from the Meralco monopoly. Natural energy developments like solar, windmill and others can mushroom very soon. Most of all, the deuterium exploration and extraction can finally see the light.

Supporting the Boss of the Country

The anti-oligarchy Filipino leader who has a genuine pride of a sovereign country does not tolerate colonial mentality. That is what he has in common with the late President Marcos. Dictatorship can never happen in the Philippines. All major decisions must go through the Senate and the Congress. This is why the very able soon to be lady Senator Imee Marcos vows to work behind the good President Du30.

Social Media and ICC Views: Some Filipinos Never Thought that VP Robredo is This Stupid

ICC

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

acting workshop

It is a big insult for many Filipinos particularly Bongbong Marcos’ supporters what VP Leni Robredo said during an interview.  Most of her attackers on social media are not real people, she added. This proves to show that she has no clue how social media works. Even trolls cannot function without someone behind it. It is also not the number of posts that make an issue viral but the quality of content. Therefore, Robredo has no right to advice President Rodrigo Du30 not to let his emotions get the better of him in quitting the ICC or International Criminal Court. She definitely does not have the brains needed.

Not Real People

Leni Robredo says in an interview that the attacks that she receives mostly come from a well-oiled infrastructure. They are not from real people. She comments that her small percentage of real people is not enough defending her. It is hard to keep up with her attackers who employ those expensive setups, she said.

Lack of Knowledge or Total Stupidity?

Social media practitioners and online marketing gurus can attest that to get followers, one must be credible, consistent, knowledgeable, an expert on his or her field, and has a unique personality. Originality is a must so to speak given the information overload during the digital age. Online influencers must build their name in a course of time. A politician cannot just hire people to post attacks against their enemies to get patronage using trolls. That won’t last. Besides, Facebook and Google’s strict policies just won’t allow duplicated or reported users to linger.

ICC as a Safety Net

We shouldn’t be ruled by temper in deciding whether or not to quit from the ICC, Robredo pleaded.  However, she forgets that she resigned from Du30’s Cabinet in 2016 due to policy differences. Taking the ICC as a “safety net” for alleged victims of human rights abuse by public officials can only mean that the association can certainly be used by anti-government movers like her against a ruling party or official.

Social Media Criticisms

Perhaps, Robredo does not realize that the very reason why she gets all the negative criticisms via social media is her “shallow” views on sensitive issues. It is really true that once she opens her mouth, she just destroys herself. Then she has the guts to blame it on President Du30 and Bongbong Marcos. A typical trait of a loser.

Wondering about the Netizens’ Reactions on Robredo’s Darkness Speech via Social Media?

Social Media

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Presidential spokesman, Atty. Harry Roque cites Gallup International polls that show the Philippines as the third happiest country in the world. He also shows the Philippines at the fifth highest nation in the economic optimism index. He also stresses the Social Weather Stations surveys indicating that 96 percent welcome the new year with hope and fewer Filipino families consider themselves poor. These facts are contradictory to the statement of Vice President Leni Robredo saying that the country is now in darkness. Netizens fury are evident via Social Media. Here are some from Facebook:

Rappler Blasted by Blogger for Out of Tune Bongbong Marcos News etc.

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Sass Rogando Sasot, a mere blogger blasts Rappler even before it’s license was revoked. She cites some evidence of the debunked Media’s biased news especially the one submitted to Bloomberg. Plus its connivance with VP Leni Robredo versus Bongbong Marcos’ online supporters. It also claims anew that it is trending in the Philippines with only 17,000 tweets. A clear indication that they do not have the proper online tools to monitor data. The SEC’s kill order revoking its license to operate is the first of its kind in history – both for the Commission and for Philippine media, it said. It’s CEO, Maria Ressa accuses President Du30 of silencing government-critical media like them.

Media Licence Revoked

The decision of the Securities and Exchange Commission or SEC to revoke Rappler’s registration is for violating the Constitution as per the record. There are words of support from their supporter via social media but it failed to monitor the other side of the fence how happy they are for the good riddance.

Constitutional Violation

In SEC’s order, it focused on the company’s Philippine Depositary Receipts or PDR from Omidyar Network. It says that it violates constitutional restrictions on ownership and control of mass media entities. Under the constitution, Filipinos must own a majority of the company’s share. Besides, the online publication behaves like a blogger and not as a media entity that must be in neutral position. They should not be taking the side of Robredo and must not openly support her trolls in counteracting the popularity of Bongbong Marcos using baseless accusations like the alleged ill-gotten wealth, fake diploma, and anti-Sandro Marcos statements.

Netizen’s Support?

Rappler also said that netizens condemn such action of the government saying that it is a blatant effort to silence the press for its critical reporting against them. As a proof, they quoted LaddadOfficial, Little Red Shoes, and Althea Again’s comments that are obviously fake accounts which posted pro-Liberal Party sentiments. Social media users can only be credible if their real identity is not hidden. Maybe, Rappler also has no clue on that.

Social Media Democracy Marks Bongbong Marcos’ VP Recount Victory

democracy

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Social media like Facebook are democracy in their purest form. Whatever is popular wins over there. This is contrary to the report of Rappler CEO, Maria Ressa. These platforms are not newsmakers but mediums for public opinions. Popular topics go viral because of major interests by the people. Mainstream media simply have a different system. If VP Leni Robredo’s Camp cannot topple Bongbong Marcos online despite their many trolls and fake news, he is, therefore, the real winner for the post. The recount on his electoral protest against Robredo is in February 2018.

Like and Share Functionality

Facebook has no liability over the spread of “fake news” because it does not produce them. Users spread them by clicking on the “Like” and “Share” buttons of the platform. This proves to show that such sentiments are from real people. One tends to share a favorable news from a friend.

Liberals’ Undermining Democracy

Liberals like Ressa and their media counterparts locally and in the United States are famous for blaming others for their own doings. VP Leni Robredo always refers to the alleged trolls and fake news of Bongbong Marcos whenever she suffers low ratings. However, she and Ressa never question Silent No More that favors them. They attack the majority who are against them. This is not a democracy.

Du30’s Endorsement Helped Bongbong Marcos

President Rodrigo Du30 did not win because of social media propaganda. His approval rating is still high after almost two years in power. That is not achievable if his popularity is based on lies. In fact, his endorsement of Bongbong Marcos as his successor makes the latter as the preferred VP. He is likely to win the recount for his electoral protest against Robredo if Facebook data is consistent with his number of votes.
