Robredo Finds Social Media Irresponsible for Marawi News

social media

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

VP Leni Robredo shows her indifference with social media sentiments when she said that wrong information comes out from there regarding the Marawi incident. Many would disagree with her, because, the very first posts visible there are video footages of the actual events.

[VIDEO]: VP Leni Robredo attacks social media anew saying that there are news about the martial law declaration in Mindanao that are not true.

Terrorism in Marawi

Leni Robredo echoes the call for authorities to conduct an investigation into the incident. She also repeats the pleas of the police for Marawi residents not to loiter or go out of their house. They are more vulnerable if they stay in groups, she said.

Terror Attacks

Houses set on fire. Terrorists take over one city jail. They bombed the National Grid Corporation Tower in Lanao del Sur. Journalists are also attacked by armed men. This is terrorism aside from rebellion which is enough reason for the president to declare martial law. The VP is, however, hesitant to agree or disagree with the leader’s decision.

Social Media Critic

Robredo is very critical of social media. This is after she fails to make it work for her. There are just too many people who hate her. They all resort to social media because they cannot rely anymore on the mainstream media. It’s like taking the matter into their own hands that she detests.

Responsible Posting

It is not certain what Robredo is referring to when she said that misinformation scatters through social media anew. Was it about Bam Aquino’s alleged visit in Marawi shortly before the incident? Can it be about the martial law declaration? Since she clarifies that there’s no official notice yet and even the PNP is still waiting for it.

Robredo Wonders Why her Radio Show is Bashed via Social Media

social media

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

It’s a hard two weeks for Leni Robredo as c-anchor of her radio show  “BISErbisyong LENI” due to heavy bashing via social media. Listeners have the impression that she is out for no good and just politicking. She insists that it’s her way of helping the poor – but no one seems to buy it.

Robredo’s Complaints

In the second episode of the program on radio station RMN-dzXL 558 Khz last Sunday, May 21, Robredo pours out her dismay that the radio show is swamped with negative comments on social media. Many accused her of using it to discredit political rivals like Bongbong Marcos.

Co-Anchor’s Defense

Ely Saludar defended the show. She said; this is purely about service. I just want to respond to some of the allegations because we are not here to destabilize the government. Monitor it closely. We don’t criticize anyone.

Bashing Target

The acting Vice President is a target of the social media supporters of the President and Bongbong Marcos. They believe that he lost the Vice Presidential race because he was cheated by Robredo’s political party. Online loyalist resort to facebook or Twitter to retaliate to her bad-mouthing the administration and its drug war through her public speeches here and abroad.

Wrong Move

The negative responses to the show indicate that the people do not want their Vice President to be an announcer of a radio program. Whatever her intentions may be, the majority of the Filipinos simply say no. This is something that Robredo must understand. She should act according to her position. She’s not like senator Loren Legarda or Noli de Castro who are veteran media anchors. She just doesn’t have what it takes to be in line with them.

Leni Robredo’s Media Investment is Too Vast that it Brings her to the Radio

investment

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

What’s the job of a Vice President? Radio Announcer! This might not be the case elsewhere but in the Philippines nowadays, the VP’s public service job is through the airwaves. This is after her massive investment of time and perhaps money to destroy her political opponents first through mainstream media, then to social media, and now, in person on the radio.

Youtube video by; Elena Grace Flores
[VIDEO]: Vice President Leni Robredo will start hosting today a weekly public service radio program that will cover topics aligned with her advocacies as the second highest elected official of the land.

Weekly Radio Program

Vice President Leni Robredo already has a weekly public service radio program. It covers topics that follows her advocacies as VP. BISErbisyong LENI is a one-hour program with broadcaster Ely Saludar. She is co-hosting it.

Public Service

The program airs at 9 a.m. every Sunday over RMN-dzXL 558 kHz. It simulcasts over RMN-Cebu, RMN-CDO, RMN-Davao and RMN-Naga. It is also live on the RMN Facebook page. The OVP said that the program discusses topics on public service and legal advice. Key personalities are invited for interview based on the weekly topic.

Pilot Episode

Robredo and Saludar interviewed nutrition advocate Dyan Rodriguez and solo parent Lorna Tambaoan. This is after the bashing incident of Senator Tito Sotto over social media after he joked about it. She stresses that as a single parent herself, their status must not be undermined. Perhaps, just riding on the trend.

Media Personality

It is understandable that Robredo resorts to be hands-on as media personality because of the successful handling of the late Benigno Aquino during his time. He was able to topple the popular, Marcos by slowly but surely destroying his reputation. Nevertheless, she should be wiser now after her defeat via social media. She does not have the charm to make it. Let alone through traditional radio programs. One thing is evident, she can be running out of funds now that the Liberal Party weakens. Therefore, she has to do it herself.
