welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

acting workshop

A week prior to the recount, this is a hot topic in social media. Nothing can beat the thickness of Vice President Leni Robredo’s face. This is after she said that all the winners of the 2016 elections including President Rodrigo Du30 are affected with Majority Leader Senator Tito Sotto expose. Previously, the Supreme Court already set aside the first course of action on Bongbong Marcos’ electoral protest that questions the integrity of the automated poll system of Smartmatic to pave the way for the recount on March 19, 2018. However, Senator Nancy Binay’s resolution on the issue enables the Senate to investigate then the Congress follows suit.

How Different is Fraud?

Robredo said that Sotto’s claims appear to be different from the grounds of her rival, former Senator Bongbong Marcos, in his electoral protest against her victory in the May 2016 polls. Both point out that they have evidence of digital manipulation that only the ruling party at that time is capable of orchestrating. Although, she did not elaborate on the subject.

Favorable to Marcos

Marcos congratulates Senator Sotto for bringing the “election anomalies” to the public. Robredo, on the other hand, proposes an independent body to look into Sotto’s allegations.

The Senate & the Congress VS. the Supreme Court

The co-equal branches of the government seem to be on a power struggle at the moment. Firstly, Senator Tito Sotto III claims in his privilege speech to receive information that the 2016 polls were tainted with irregularities. The early transmissions of votes and alleged proof of “foreign access” in the election servers are among the issues raised. Then, the House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez also laid out the analysis of the cheating reports that coincide with Marcos’ protest. Lastly, the Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno faces an impeachment case. Robredo takes this as a quick way to get rid of her.

One Week Before the Recount

A week prior to the recount set on March 19, 2018. Marcos continues to attend to social invitations from groups that consider him as the legitimate Vice President. Meanwhile, Vice President Robredo tries very hard to bring down with her the President who is in alliance with the Marcoses. The people can only guess the next development.

Bongbong Marcos in Binondo: The Next Vice President of the Philippines

Vice President

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

acting workshop

Rumors of government destabilization loom as the Vice Presidential electoral protest recount nears. However, in reality, the networks behind the anti-administration stunts cannot overpower their opposition that is presently in authority. Therefore, logical minds have the guts to express their true sentiments and support. This is evident in Bonondo during the Chinese New Year celebration. The emcee calls on Bongbong Marcos as the next Vice President of the Philippines.

New Vice President in Baguio

Bongbong and Gov. Imee Marcos’ were earlier in the Baguio Flower Festival where their popularity surges as Gov. Imee introduces her brother as the Vice President of the Philippines. Some can’t help but raise their eyebrows but again, the Marcoses are in alliance with the current President. No one can stop them from making their stand public.

Side by Side with the Government

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos is on tour nowadays. She is also hot in social media interviews. Pro-administration bloggers back her up. No doubt, she’s preparing for the Senatorial race in 2019. It is not surprising if she runs under the President’s party because of the obvious alliance between them. A press conference even features her side by side with Presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque while they address current national issues. The Marcoses and Du30 are definitely not taking their detractors sitting down.

The Supreme Court Justice’s Plight

Another indication that the pro-administration players are stronger than their enemies is evident in the Supreme Court. All the 13 magistrates are united in asking their Chief Justice Maria Lourdes-Sereno to take an indefinite leave of absence while facing the impeachment trial.

Confidence Behind the Binondo Stunt

Bongbong Marcos explains in his 5th series video that the Chinese community was first recognized during the time of his father. Their undeniable contribution to the economy is never overlooked. This is the reason why the Marcoses still have many supporters from the Filipino-Chinese faction, particularly in Binondo.

The President’s Advise to Son is Worthwhile for Robredo on Bongbong Marcos’ Election Protest

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

President Rodrigo Du30 tells his son, Paolo, to “do what is right.” This is after the then vice mayor of Davao City informed him of his resignation over family and political issues. Meanwhile, the initial review of ballots in Camarines Sur, VP Leni Robredo’s home province is fast approaching. Its retrieval is on January 22, 2018. The recount schedule is in the second week of February. The Vice President can never go wrong if she follows the same advice on Bongbong Marcos’ election protest against her.

Solely the Son’s Decision

Vice Mayor Du30 announces on Christmas day his resignation to his constituents out of “delicadeza” or sense of propriety. He basically had enough of the “shabu” smuggling accusation and his twitter arguments with daughter Isabelle just add up to the mess he’s in. His father, however, clarifies that he never suggests for it. He believes that the highly criticized pictorial of his son’s daughter in Malacañang, and other past issues made him vacate his post.

VP’s Lawyer Seems to be on Top of Her

Robredo’s lawyer, Atty. Romulo Macalintal stresses that under the PET Rules if Marcos cannot prove any substantial vote discrepancy from the three pilot provinces, his protest is for dismissal due to lack of merit. For Camarines Sur alone, Macalintal reminds Marcos that P9.6 million is chargeable from his cash deposit for the retrieval expenses. The lead counsel’s confidence obviously gives her the courage to continue the fight even if she can’t pay the remaining 7 Million Pesos balance for her counter-protest against Marcos.

The Protestant’s Stand on the Election Protest

Bongbong Marcos laments that it takes for the PET more than 17 months to get to the recount stage. That can also take another 7 months. So, 2 years is almost gone for the 6-year term by the time a ruling can be made granting that there’s no more delay. Nevertheless, Marcos’ protest is the only national case that has gone that far. Robredo should also think of saving herself if the tide does not turn into her favor by then.

VP Leni Robredo should Devote Time for Election Protest after not having Official Functions

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Vice President Leni Robredo was not invited to welcome any of the foreign leaders as they arrived in the country. This role is traditionally given to past Philippine vice presidents. The members of the Du30 Cabinet welcomed the world leaders instead. However, while the VP did not serve any official functions during the 31st ASEAN Summit, she attended the opening ceremony. Robredo also delivered a keynote speech at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit in Solaire Resort and Casino. It’s not a big deal for her not having an official function. She would need a lot of time to prepare for Bongbong Marcos’ election protest against her now that the recount is due to happen anytime soon.

[VIDEO]: Vice President Leni Robredo delivers the closing keynote at the ASEAN Business & Investment Summit held Tuesday, November 14.

The VP’s Mandate

The vice president in Philippine politics has no specific mandate to perform in the Cabinet or in government. He or she normally attends ceremonial functions. Political tensions arise if the vice president maneuvers to undermine the president. It is detrimental if the VP supports the opposition. Complications happen if the VP intends to be president. The second leader’s every action perceives as partisan and can be harmful to the president’s political interest.

Robredo’s Own Initiative

Robredo urged ASEAN businessmen to help micro, small, and medium enterprises have easier access to fair trade and unclogged value chains during her keynote speech. The Vice President then met with representatives of women’s business organizations in Asia on the sidelines of the ABIS.

Must Strengthen her Defense

Robredo, who resigned as Housing Czar currently has no Cabinet duties. She has all the time in the world to strengthen her legal defense in the election protest case filed by former Senator Bongbong Marcos. The President’s alliance with Marcos is just not helping her ultimate quest to stay in power.

Action is Obvious

Du30 could have reviewed the functions of the office of the vice president already if the second most powerful leader after him is his preferred heir, Bongbong Marcos. He can begin by broadening the VP office’s mandate, identifying the government body that will be headed by the vice president, and specifying the duties that will be the basis to demand accountability from the country’s second-highest official. It’s the opposite now with Robredo. Her exposures are obviously minimized. She should already get the hint that the forces are working against her.

Bongbong Marcos on SONA: Filipinos Know the Truth from Propaganda

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores

Bongbong Marcos is confident that the President has shown one singular quality that is very clear as he refers to the leader’s recent SONA. It is the reason why he is very popular. His quality of leadership can’t be discredited. The Filipino people recognize that. Only a good leader can do and manage that. Filipinos know the truth from his genuine side versus his detractors’ propaganda.

[VIDEO]: Bongbong Marcos’ views on democracy, governance and not judging anyone during the Vice Presidential campaign.

The Voice of the People is the Voice of God

Like his father, Marcos is a real democracy crusader. No matter how sensitive the issues are like same-sex marriage, he keeps an open mind. He believes that the voice of the people is the voice of God. No one should judge and be judged.

How to Improve People’s Lives

Marcos said that relocation is not just moving people. It’s about building a community with proper provisions and opportunities for the people to live a decent life. Livelihood, transport system, hospitals, schools, and other fundamental government services must be prioritized to support the citizens’ progress.

Comment on the President’s SONA

Marcos thinks that the President has shown good leadership both in our local and foreign policies. He has redirected our foreign policy and that is the reason why we have regained once again a crucial and important position in the international community to the benefit of the Philippines. It is the same with various domestic policies, he added.

Marcos Regime’s Effect in his Bid

He ran for the Vice Presidency for a simple reason that he wants to address people’s needs first and foremost. The principles of his father for public service is hereby inherited. There are no traces of negativities in him with regards to the Marcos regime. In fact, he takes it an opportunity for the people to thank his late father. He said that since most people were not able to thank former President Ferdinand Marcos, they can show their gratitude to him by supporting his bid to the executive office.
