Late comment from the OVP

VP is Clearly Out of the Loop

The sitting VP Leni Robredo is out of the loop again. She said that the government is still in the process of choosing Covid-19 vaccines. In reality, all countries do not have the privilege to choose. It’s first pay, first served basis on what is available. Only FDA approved in the country of origin which has the emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration of the Philippines can be ordered, according to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez.

Negotiations and Priorities

Negotiations with Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca are in the finalization stage. This is for the first quarter of 2021 distribution. The Duterte administration aims to vaccinate majority of Filipinos. If not all citizens free of charge. Frontliners, medical workers and the poor are the first priorities. Localize injections fo through the health centers in each barangay. The process is alreadyin place like other existing vaccines. Why does Robredo needs a list?

Imee: Job Recovery Vaccine

Meanwhile, the DOLE announces that some 21,000 jobs here and abroad are up for grabs this week. It celebrates its 87th founding anniversary recently. However, Marcos said that the job vacancies make up less than 1% of the 3.8 million needed for Filipinos who are out of work. Senator Imee Marcos warns that millions of Filipinos will remain jobless if the government fails to craft a national policy for job recovery by the time Covid-19 vaccines are approved for public use.
