US Apologetic on Olympic Gold Medalists’ False Robbery Claim in Rio

Ryan Lochte

welcome By: Elena Grace Flores
Ryan Lochte and Jimmy Feigen, were proven to be liars and unruly after claiming that they were robbed at gunpoint when their taxi was intercepted. Instead, the CCTV footage showed that the swimmers vandalized the petrol station and engaged themselves in confrontation with staff. Feigen remained still in Brazil but Lochte is already back in the US. Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger, initially held off from their flight to the US but later allowed to go home after denying that they’ve got to have something to do with the false robbery claim.

Lochte was claiming that they were robbed at gunpoint on their way back to their hotel from a club in a taxi but police head Fernando Veloso did not buy their story with the CCTV showing that they were the unruly ones. He said; “No robbery was committed against these athletes. They were not victims of the crimes they claimed.”

The American athletes only paid and left after security guards intervened but they already had vandalized the toilet of a petrol station. Giving false testimony and vandalism were their charges that the US government was so apologetic for, thus letting them off the hook just for the spirit of the Olympics at this moment in time.

USOC confirmed Mr Veloso’s account issued a statement saying; “the behaviour of these athletes is not acceptable, nor does it represent the values of Team USA”.
