Tourism Spots Before and After
Return to Tourism | Bongbong Marcos
The gradual opening of local tourism will pave the way for this immense industry to recover, said Bongbong Marcos. The 3.7 Trillion pesos revenues last year is incomparable this year. Tourist arrivals of 4,852,107 as of July 2019 decreases to only 1,300,000 until July 2020. Out of the total amount,3.1 Trillion pesos were from domestic tourism. Therefore, it is best to restart this industry by allowing internal travel. Marcos’ suggestion comes with inspiring stories instead of the criticisms from the presumptive VP on the Manila Bay and Boracay issues.
Bubbles of safety are places that are recognized as low-risk destinations when it comes to the Coronavirus infection. The government plans to slowly allow travel to safer tourism spots. This concept is also ongoing in other countries. Marcos hopes that in the near future, international travel bubbles will also be available for Filipino travelers and vice versa. This can slowly but surely trigger the resumption of international tourism.
Helping the Economy
When it’s true that a VP is like a spare tire once the President becomes incapacitated, he or she can always inspire people to help themselves during times of difficulties. Questioning and attacking the administration one serves will just make a VP incompetent. Urging people to travel when it’s safe can very well help the economy. The Philippines may have lost the VP they deserve but one thing is for sure, he is coming back with a vengeance in 2022.
